Growing up wealthy and privileged in the Kyonin elven nation, Durothil benefited from all the advantages a life in a noble house affords one. He received expert tutelage from scholarly tutors, as well and normal elven weapon training with bow and curved blade. Quick to learn, some of his tutors silently harbored aspirations that Durothil would grow to become a Loremaster.
Sadly, they will live a long life of disappointment. During the many hours of combat training, specifically with the bardiche, Durothil showed as great a natural aptitude as he did in his studies.
One afternoon while sparing with a practice blade made from a tied bundle of reeds, one of Durothil’s more impressive over-hand chops shattered the practice blade of his opponent, and knocked his sparring partner to the ground. Seeing blood slowly seep from his opponent’s head, Durothil felt a rush of adrenaline. He did not wish to kill or harm his kin, but he did enjoy the feeling of conquering a foe.
In the weeks and months to come, Durothil became more and more aggressive, quickly, severely punishing his less-skilled opponents to the point where he no longer was welcome at the sparring grounds. Not soon after, Durothil left Kyonin to explore the vastness of the world.
