Etune's feeling pretty confident now that she's gotten the armor up and--THAT'S A LOT OF CLAWS AND TEE--OW!

She pants a bit as she got a good chunk taken out of her and suddenly she gets a bit more white, even as her own hands distend into very scaly claws, almost unbidden.

The halfling gets a very philosophical look on her face as she lets the claws withdraw.

There isn't really anything else of interest to you in an abandoned logging camp.

You distribute the broken beast-men into different bunks and leave. Eventually darkness falls, and you make camp.

After a night's rest, you hit the trail once more. Spellcasters can re-prepare spells, etc.

A deep, placid river interrupts the path to Briar Henge. A few large logs have been placed across the river, providing a crude bridge to access the other side. Sunlight dapples the surface of the murky water, the result of branches crisscrossing the river high overhead.

Options to cross include: walking the logs (no skill check needed), swimming (DC 15 Swim check), or climbing the trees that crisscross overhead (DC 20 climb).

Humanoids with the bestial simple template are more resilient and develop rudimentary natural attacks, but the transformation dulls the mind and gives those affected a brutish demeanor.

BEAST MODE! Meredith, Maximize!

Meredith has trouble plucking flowers out of her hair. Something doesn't feel right. Her pale green skin isn't helping, either. In fact, when she looks at her hands she notices her nails are extremely sharp.

"How did that- ow, my tongue." Meredith feels her teeth and notices how jagged they are. "Oh, man. Now what I want, not what I...expect. And...things."

OK, there is a lot going on here, so feel free to correct me if I miss a detail or bonus for you guys..

Meredith is making an easy swim across - the water is pretty calm. Meanwhile, Merisiel starts hopping from log to log.

Suddenly, the trap she didn't find springs, and an axe blade comes swinging out or the trees to cut her apart.

Trap attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 4) + 4 = 9

Traps was DC 20 for finding it. Luckily only one of you was crossing, and even luckier is that Merisiel survived the trap!

As the trap springs, an archer surprises you with an arrow flying toward Wilhelm.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Luckily, many of you see the crocodile making it's approach toward Meredith, so no surprise attack there.

The archer, however, moves swiftly, and gets another arrow off at Wilhelm before you can react. This one goes astray.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Wilhelm takes the archer out as quick as he appeared.

Etune misses the crocodile, who swims to Meredith and attacks, but manages to bite a floating log instead.

Halfway across the river, Meredith sees a swinging blade, some arrows fly around and a crocodile try to bite her.

"Hold it, boy. Don't do this."

Realizing she doesn't have time to calm it down, and how agile that croc is compared to her, Meredith swims to shore.

Swim: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

I'm pretty sure I can't use Acrobatics here to avoid an AoO. But no way would I fight a croc while submerged. Underwater Meredith's AC while swimming is 13 since she can't use her Dex and her shield is stowed away. Jumblegrin also gets at +2 to attack her.

Once on shore, Meredith will draw her wand of Cure Light Wounds (I'm assuming she gets chomped) or her shield (if she is unharmed.)
