Hugo
Asar looks quite annoyed with this deluge of positive energy...most of it ironically not coming from Deluge.
You are merely delaying the inevitable!!
He moves to surround Hugo with the help of one of his skeletons as the one Meran hit looks for its revenge.
Finally in position, Asar looks down on the Dwarven Hugo and contempuously stabs.
POWER ATTACK Asar: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 161d8 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Claw Blue: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 51d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Claw Blue: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 91d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Then the purple waits for Asar to get into position before unleashing his own flurry.
Claw Purple: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 121d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Claw Purple: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 71d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
I am confused a bit by Hugo's sheet. I think his AC is 15?

I hope those hit points helped the bard! :)

Seeing that the big creature is still on its feet the sorcerer concentrates another magical bolt at it.
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 magic missle
Hugo Bearbane
|
Yes, 15 is normal, 13 when in rage like now, but currently has shiled of faith bringing it back to 15. Also, 27 hp right now rather than 25. I forgot to update my tag bar for rage.
Hugo swings again. (Rage round 4.)
Power Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 1 + 1 = 10
Damage: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Daereon Phoenixstar
|
That would have been a great hit :(
Deluge-Core
|
Deluge casts CLW again from his wand pops back around the pillar to touch Hugo.
Deluge should have 1 more HP as one point of damage was non-lethal and it would have gotten healed
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Meran Thanlos
|
"Thank you for the healing." She swings her club at the blue skeleton again, and continues to sing her song.
Club: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 + 1 = 21
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Meran shatters the skeleton with a skeleton bone, which certainly gets the attention of Asar while the rest of the party has spots of magic light up the otherwise dark room. Asar doesn't seem impressed.
He turns to her and tries to knock the Bone from her hand while shelling up Naughty girl....no Bludgeoning weapons allowed!
Disarm Attempt: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
He just BARELY knocks the bone from her hand and to the floor at her feet.
Meanwhile the purple skeleton continues to try and tear her flesh from her bones.
CLAW: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 171d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
CLAW: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 131d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
One of the claws scratches her, but the erstwhile bard does ok for herself.

Hugo is looking good so Deluge uses the opportunity charge his hands and attempt a touch attack on the undeadstrocity with his wand.
"Since you took my club, how about THIS!"
To hit touch (bless,inspired): 1d20 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 + 1 + 1 = 15
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 (and perhaps the inspired condition adds another +1)

I hope that hits, my little magic missiles aren't doing too much
Deluge-Core
|
You are very useful. You could summon a monster to tear apart the skeleton or provide flanking on Asar. I think a celestial eagle would fit between Asar and the pillar. And the magic missiles do help. An auto hit is nothing to sneer at. And your ray provides very needed healing. Shouldn't it be healing 1d4+1 though? I think the last time you just rolled 1d4. You could also do an aid action to give Hugo a +2 to hit since he seems to be struggling in that regard.

Meran takes the Attack the skeleton will try to pick up her club. Then she swings at it again. She continues to sing her song. It switches to a a verse about a skeleton who is turned to dust. Her brave move misses completely.

Whose turn?
GM Eddv
|
Combat is over just needed time to do the post
Hugo connects with the confident asar, who believed the bladed weapon would not be his doom.
The smirk of self-confidence remained on his bony skull even as it left his body at the impact of Hugo's axe with his neck.
The room grew still and quiet as the remaining undead he had been animating grew to be no more.
Instead, that left just the crypt.
With the everflame glowing just above the coffin of the hero, Kassen.
Deluge-Core
|
Cynical as usual, Deluge states "Now if only he stays dead." and then collects his club and searches the room.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Capone~
|
"That undead creature was rather difficult, but we offed him with ruthless efficiency. Here's to hoping we don't have to do that again."
Capone helps check around, throwing in a Detect Magic into the mix.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

Deluge casts Guidance and Detect Poison a bunch of times as he searches.

Perhaps there will be magical items but we also have a sister to save he comments.
Meran Thanlos

Meran laughs, and starts looking around the crypt. "He wasn't a nice man. I wonder how he was in life."
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
GM Eddv
|
It takes Deluge no time at all to find the weakened and bound sister in distress off to the side alongside various ornaments and such that belonged to Kassen in life and which will appear on the chronicle sheet.
The sister is bound and in a state of near-unconsciousness.
The Flame resonates magic and awaits your approach.
Deluge-Core
|
"Some poor girl all trussed up. I wonder why the undead fanatic didn't make her part of her army. Perhaps she wasn't fit enough?"
Deluge gives the girl a poke. "She doesn't seem to be in good shape, but at least she is alive."
Duluge tries to help her up but instead slips and falls sprawling at her side, rolls around a little bit and pops back up to his feet. "Dag nabbit."
Daereon Phoenixstar
|
The sorcerer will use his celestial fire to heal the girl
1d4 ⇒ 2
GM Eddv
|
The girl wakes up groggy... Wha...what happened?? Did...did you complete the coming of age ritual? Why am I tied up.
She looks over at Deluges form still crouched and looming over her.
I'm....going to be okay aren't I? You people wouldn't kidnap an innocent woman?
Deluge-Core
|
"Kidnap you! Whatever for? I'm sure you are more trouble than you're worth. Are you telling me you have been out of it for a while? I don't think you are going to like what happened while you were out. Would someone more 'sensitive' than I like to break the bad news to her?"
Deluge says the word sensitive like its an annoying word that should probably be stripped from the language.
GM Eddv
|
Oh yes, I have been out of commissions since I came here with the other townsfolk to help set up the 'trial' for you brave boys and girls. And I mean...you were just looming over me so menacingly i just thought....you had done something....but if you did come to help me then....what did happen?
Deluge-Core
|
Deluge seems taken aback that anyone would consider him menacing.
"Death. That's what happened, and lots of it."
Meran Thanlos
|
Meran steps between Deluge and the young woman. She tries to push him back a couple of feet gently. "We completed the trial, but things went a bit wrong. There were some undead and er casualties. I'm very glad that you are alright. Your brother was very worried."
She puts out a hand. "Lets get you out of here."
GM Eddv
|
She shakes off her ropes and stands Oh...so you mean....it's just me and my brother? This is a disaster! Do you...do you know who did this? Perhaps you can try to consult Kassen. Legend says he sometimes reveals himself to people here to retrieve the Everflame.
Capone~
|
"Interesting. Perhaps we should retrieve it." Despite saying this, Capone makes no move to go retrieve it. He seems to be expecting someone else to do so.
Daereon Phoenixstar
|
Your brother is alive in a room above. he says with a smile.
GM Eddv
|
She gets up and begins to leave the room. I am going to go see him now She gets up on unsteady feet and walks away.
Deluge-Core
|
Deluge maneuvers his bulk between her and the exit.
"Were you not listening, girl. Dead people. As in killed. As in NOT SAFE. But if you REALLY want to try to avoid all the undead in this place..."
and just as promptly Deluge moves out of the way and waves her on.
"... be my guest."
GM Eddv
|
She seems a little put off by Deluges threats and holds still I just...i just want to go see my brother, don't hurt me. She whimpers pathetically.
Meran Thanlos
|
"Deluge would you like to retrieve the Everflame. I'm afraid I'm a little nervous to try." She's clearly trying to distract the druid from scaring the young woman.
"I'f you'll wait a moment miss we'll escort you to your brother." Meran explains.
Capone~
|
Capone laughs at the little banter between Deluge and the woman. "What he means to say is... you probably should come with us to be safe."
Deluge-Core
|
"Of course that's what I meant. Hurt you indeed. I'm the soul of peacfulness."
Deluge approaches the everflame and tries to stick a torch in the flame.
Daereon Phoenixstar
|
The sorcerer goes to help the druid.
Daereon Phoenixstar
|
Once we are done with this, Hugo, we will be going back
Daereon Phoenixstar
|
Do we get out okay with the flame and the civilians?
GM Eddv
|
Sorry Illness took me out for the extended weekend
As Deluge dips the torch into the everflame, a blue spectral face that you recognize from all of the paintings all over the tomb.
I thank you, brave adventurer's for coming to my crypt and putting the soul of Asar to rest. He and I were very good friends at one point. He was my second in command and together we were quite successful for a time. He felt cheated by me and went his separate ways from me. Those bandits you found came into my tomb to take my amulet, which somehow brought Asar's malignant spirit here and well...you saw the results. They got away with both amulets though I have no idea what they have planned for them.
They are two halves of a key to our great treasure, so I suppose it might just be simple greed but with all the dark power at play and the....nature of that treasure. I feel it may be quite a bit more sinister.
You!!
The spectral form points a finger Deluge Must make use of your unique position here to oppose them. I cannot remember why it would be very bad for that treasure to fall into the hands of the wrong people. Simple townsfolk like you are my only hope! Those bandits did not seem to know that there is a THIRD component to the key, an amulet belonging to the elven sorceress Iramine, the third and final member of our adventuring party. You must go and find her - she probably still lives - and get the amulet from her and safeguard the treasure!
He then reaches into the tomb and produces 5 scales from his armor Use this in your darkest hour and I shall come to your aid as thanks for saving me from Asar.
Feel free to react and then check in in the discussion thread if you want to continue on to Masks of the Living Gods and roleplay your outro here. Ideally I want to sort of seamlessly transition between this and the next one, though we may have some players swapping in and out
Meran Thanlos
|
Meran is surprised at the face in the flame. "We can't have that. We'll do what you ask of us. Thank you for the gift. I'll use it wisely."
"Let's get all the survivors out of here and back to the village. Then we can move on."
Capone~
|
"The saga continues? Very well, we shall do as you ask."
Capone psyches himself out for another adventure.
Deluge-Core
|
Deluge positively leaps a foot in the air when the image forms, dropping the torch and backpeddling. He jumps again when the specter shouts "You" at him.
"There must be a mistake. I'm not a townsfolk! I'm just a nature loving tag along. Hey, are you undead? You are rather unusual for an undead if you are. You aren't trying to trick us and suck our souls are you?"
