Mutahir mutters...
Make a trap more obvious why don't you.
He takes a moment, pulls his grappling hook from his bag so he doesn't have to stick his hand into the maw directly, hooks and pulls the Veil piece out, ready to dodge it belches fire or something else more dastardly.

"I guess we should grab the last piece of the veil now..." Cirri flies across the pit, landing in front of the grotesque carving.
Riddywipple keeps up. "W-wait for me!"

Riptide readies his ranseur to attack this "haunt" everyone's talking about.
"You guys need any help over there? I'll cover your retreat, though I can't deal 'positive energy' damage..."
Sorry, BDB (Big Dumb Barbarian Bloodrager) and first time he's encountered a haunt....

Removing the cheek guard piece from the statue overwhelms you all with a sense of vertigo as your world shimmers and swirls you guys find yourselves standing at the entrance of the cave, still holding the cheek guard in hand. Whatever that was you think the haunt has been cleansed by removing the cheek guard.
Assembling the whole Acrimony Veil you guys are able to identify it as a rather evil artifact of ancient Thassilon.
Halla and the surviving workers greet the party with great enthusiasm when they return to the seaside excavation camp. They are relieved if Pel and Saala accompany them, and sobered by the lifeless body of Riemme.
The archaeologist provides food and drink, insisting on a full account of their adventure and details on the location.
Halla and the surviving laborers accompany the party back to Magnimar aboard the Winking Wyvern. During the voyage, Halla examines any artifacts that the PCs have collected, exclaiming that they are amazing finds that will surely yield much valuable information on Bakrakhan with further study.
Halla explains that she has every intention of returning to the dig at the earliest opportunity in order to study the temple complex— it’s obvious from the party’s description that the most valuable information is painted and chiseled on the temple’s walls. Magnimar’s venture-captain is certain to recruit a new archaeological team now that the players have cleared out the obvious threats.
Good job guys! you did it!

Woohoo!
As the party goes their separate ways, Mutahir turns to Antonella and holds out a hand.
I wish you luck in your travels, Paladin. Perhaps we will get the chance to argue theology over destroyed evil bodies another time. I find it most... stimulating.

back in Magnimar... Kel already has a summons to his next mission... "Good luck to you all, but it seems I have to go... I look forward to doing the whole 'explore, report, cooperate' thing with you all in the future."

"Yaay, we did it. And that's the veil. Eww, it's really evil." Cirri frowns.
On the trip back, Cirri is more than happy to recount her experiences. Over the days Riddywhipple conjures illusions of the party's trip through the caverns fighting monsters, enduring traps and the many grotesque images they witnessed.
"Aww, I didn't get to show off my new spells. Well, there's always next time. Maybe a harpy won't scramble my brains again."
"It was good meeting all of you." Cirri shakes as many hands as she can. "Let's meet under more joyous circumstances, eh?"
Thanks for the game, everyone!

Riptide gives each and every member a great big hug as Sonic waves goodbye from his shoulder.
"I'd battle the forces of evil with any of you, any time, any where! May honor and glory line your paths from here to the end of days."
