Pointing at the last two goblins, Grognard says "Now it's your turn."

It's been 24 hours since Turn 3 started, so Gelin and Rory will both be Dodging
Turn 3 Order:
Players
Goblins <=====
Scimitar Attack at Idrix: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Scimitar Attack at Grognard: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
With the fire and the mage hand out of the picture, one goblin focuses its attention back at Idrix, nearly disemboweling him, dealing 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 slashing damage and sending the genasi tumbling to the floor, dying. The other slips past Grognard's defenses as his head is pulling back from the headbutt, landing a cut across his chest, dealing 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 slashing damage.
Turn 4 Order:
Players <=====
Goblins
Tracking:
Idrix and Grognard are each engaged with a goblin in the cavern.
Rory is 10 feet away from the melee.
Gamze and Gelin are 20 feet away from the melee.
Idrix Ashir
The grin on Idrix's face dies as he is slashed and drops to the ground. The bonfire immediately burns out but there are still tiny flames to be seen on the genasi, if diminished in size and number.
Ouch!
Rory Loudheim
"Git off him!" shouts Rory, barreling down on the goblin standing over Idrix.
warhammer attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21for: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Gelin Brooklane
Gelin winces as Idrix is gashed open. Setting his brow, he cups his hands around his mouth, levels his gaze at the goblin, and whispers a string of painful curses into it's mind.
Didn't wanna waste this, ya stinking gobbos, but casting dissonant whispers! 3d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 6) = 11 psychic damage and flee; half damage on wisdom save and no fleeing.

Another loud crack echoes throughout the cave as the goblin falls with a broken skull to the floor from Rory's warhammer, where Idrix's bonfire raged a moment ago.
Goblin WIS Save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (14) - 1 = 13
"Gaaaah!" The remaining goblin covers its ear and screams, but resists most of the effects of Gelin's spell. When the whispers end, its breathing is ragged and it has a wild look on its face.

Shaken by the dissonant whispers, the last goblin has just enough time to recognize that Grognard's spear is getting closer before the tip is thrust through its mouth and out the back of its head.
The sudden silence in the cavern is abruptly ended by a shriek.
"Maan! Dhel'dec shaakhogaan, hor druul or daakhuuc. Truce, or this human dies!"
At the top of the escarpment in this room, a goblin has emerged, dangling a bound and beaten human over the edge. He looks vaguely recognizable past the cuts and bruises, and you realize quickly that this is Sildar Hallwinter, the human warrior that rode ahead with Gundren.
"No, don't...trust...the goblin," Sildar groggily mutters.
Tracking:
10 feet away from Rory and the dying Idrix is a set of stairs that lead to the top of the escarpment, where the goblin is dangling Sildar 10 feet above the bottom floor.
Gelin Brooklane
Gelin quickly steps forward, raising a hand in greeting. "Finally! A goblin who's ready to talk instead of carve people to bits!" he motions to Sildar. "We'd really like to take him with us when we go, so...I suppose you want something then? come on down and let's sort it out before we all run out of blood to bleed, aye?"
persuasion, assuming it's called for: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

As Gelin negotiates with the goblin, Rory kneels and says a quick prayer over Idrix -
cure wounds: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
That done, he looks up at the goblin with a growl. "And what of me cousin? The dwarf? We'll need him too."
Idrix Ashir
Idrix comes to.
Sitting up, he groans, clutching the largely-healed slash wound. Then grins as he sees the goblin who slashed him is very dead on the ground. He gets up, gives Rory a thumbs-up, and stands with his right boot firmly on that goblin's mangled head.
"Yeah goblin, where's the dwarf?"
The sparks and tiny flames on Idrix have mostly gone back to normal with him conscious.
Gelin Brooklane
Gelin snaps his fingers. Riiiight, I knew I forgot something. The Dwarf. You have him too? Kind of important."
Idrix Ashir
"Where is Klarg? And what traps and goons does he have protecting his hide!?"
GM Barty
The goblin mutters to itself for a moment, and eventually realizes that it is in his best interest to help you defeat Klarg. "Klarg in Klarg cave!" he says, pointing East to the other side of the cavern. "Klarg have mean wolfie and water. Water whoosh if you not quiet!"
He continues to dangle Sildar menacingly 10 feet above the cavern floor below. The man clearly does not have the strength to fight back.
Gelin Brooklane
"Eloquent, isn't he..." Gelin scratches his head, turning to the group. "Well? I guess we go kill a goblin chief or...whoever Klarg is."
Idrix Ashir
Idrix hollers up at the goblin.
"Put him back safely! I'm fine with killing this Klarg! But that human had better be returned to us breathing, or you'll burn!"
He turns to the others:
"I say we toast Klarg!"
Grognard Fuglsang
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Taking deep breaths, Grognard starts to calm down from the exertions of the fight. Finally noticing the goblin dangling Sildar over the edge, talking about making deals. We can't trust goblins, they would stab them self in the back if they saw an advance. Grognard uses the distraction of the goblin talking to the group to sneak up the stair, creeping behind the goblin. stealth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Rory Loudheim
"Water wooosh -- ya, I think we found that part already -- can 'e do that more than the one time?" Rory grumbles, trying to keep the goblin from noticing Grognard. Fool might get Sildar killed -- but if the goblin sees him, he'll drop the man fer sure.
How does NPC death work? If Sildar drops, will I have a chance to get to him and stabilize, or does he just go splat?
Idrix Ashir
"Woah, woah! No one kill anyone here! The goblin knows what happens if he kills Sildar! Let's leave, take out this Klarg, and trade after!"
Grognard Fuglsang
"What I...I thought this was the way to Klarg cave." Grognard says as much confidence as a child with there hand in the cookie jar. Pleased with himself coming up with a clever excuse, he looks at rest of the group "I think we should head off to kill this Klarg then."
After slight pause turns back to the Yeemik "Klarg is a goblin, right? And is there any weakness that you can tell us about Klarg?"
GM Barty
"Klarg big bugbear! He no tough though, Yeemik could kill Klarg but be too easy for Yeemik, me get bored," the goblin replies.
It thinks about potential weaknesses and eloquently responds, "Ripper always guarding Klarg, but me think Klarg garbage go to wolfies down hole, he no watch for climbing wolfies."
Gelin Brooklane
Gelin stares at the goblin blankly. "wolfies...you don't suppose he means the ones near the entrance?"
Rory Loudheim
"And where do we find this Klarg? ...Wouldn't want t' keep ye waiting while we look around for him." says Rory dryly, relaxing a bit as Grognard backs down.
Idrix Ashir
Idrix throws a final glare towards the goblin then turns to leave.
"Let's get going! We have killing to do!"
Gelin Brooklane
Gelin laces his fingers and pushes outward, popping knuckles. "I second that." He glances up to the cliff at the bedraggled Sildar. "Just hang in there old--oh wait. Bad phrase. Erm...just keep breathing! This'll be over soon."
Idrix Ashir
"Let's take the wolf way!"
Idrix Ashir
Idrix makes gestures, and fire erupts under the left wolf.

Wow. Guess I'm not the only one who's been pulled away recently...
Gelin shakes his head at the display. "Could we at least make this quick? I know we're on a mission here, but if we're going to kill these mutts, then let's at least put them down fast instead of sitting here cooking them. Anyone got a spare bow?"
Idrix Ashir
Idrix speaks up while he maintains the bonfire.
"I've no issue with that! Borrow my crossbow!"
Rory Loudheim
Rory sighs as Idrix again attacks the chained animals pre-emptively, but quietly agrees with Gelin. If they are Klarg's weapons, we can at least give them a fast death.

Grognard drives his spear through the wolf's heart, putting it out of its misery, moments before Idrix's fire bolt crashes into the ground where the wolf stood, flames licking at the ground for a few moments before flickering out.
The room falls silent without the presence of the wolves. A narrow opening in the east wall leads to a natural chimney, at the base of which is a pile of discarded rubbish.
