Arma/Ian:

He gives her a warm smile, his short white hair accentuating the different colors in his eyes. "It's gonna be tough, adjusting to life in the Brotherhood will be different but there is other children there. About your age and a wealth of knowledge for you to learn as well. I think you'll like it there and I will take you there as soon as I can. Please stay where Ian can keep track of you and I will see you soon." He ruffled her hair and let her scoot back to her food before it got cold.

He looked to Ian then a uncertain look on his face. "I don't have the caps on me right now, but I will repay any room or board as needed. I will return once this Vault business is settled and her family avenged."

With things settled for now he left the Tavern and stepped back into the wasteland, barely hiding the look of wrath that marred his face.

His wrath was short lived when he spotted the Scribe speaking with the Trader, Leon Hatcher, an odd fellow. Some considered him eccentric for his wanting to study and master Pre-War knowledge. As Leon embraced him he gave the Scribe a broad smile. He flinched ever so slightly at the mention of Felldom. He brushed it off though and gave Leon a light tap on the back with his armored hand. "I'm surviving Leon, it can't get much worse. I see your aim has improved as you still have rounds left over you old dust dog. What brings you this way eh?"

Kora Wrap-Up:

I had this all written down in RP style, but it was eaten... The gist of it was, Ian's happy to take care of the girl free of charge until you return to escort her to Brotherhood base.

Who's In Town?: 1d8 ⇒ 8

"Welcome!" the man says to Darius. He looks vaguely Hispanic in ancestry, though its doubtful he's any less a mutt than most people these days. "I bring you, amigos, that's friends, the finest assorted chop and slop of the Wastelands! I am Wrack, trader of all that I find, and some that I otherwise acquire!" He pulls a pack from the Brahmin and opens it up, displaying a mess of wires, metal.... and what might be some nice goods. "Please, browse away, and ask me if you'd like anything!"

Wrack is the first trader you've met; appropriately enough, he's the dealer of assorted knick-knacks and junk that can be found out in the Wastes. Any miscellaneous items can be found here, along with the occasional simple weapon like a knife or lead pipe, maybe materials for armor or weapons, and of course a stimpak or two... for the right price, of course. Just ask if you're not sure something would be here.

Outside, Leon smiles back. "Hah, luckily I haven't had much need to use them. Knowing this old piece of junk, it might blow up if I ever do!" The scribe laughs, but you know the shotgun is in working order--he wouldn't be carrying it otherwise.

Growing serious for a moment, Leon pulls a sheaf of paper from his pack. "These are updates to the objective from base; formal as they are, you can take a look. Basically, they're detailing that I'm coming along as a historical advisor and medic, and that the presence of two warriors and a scribe mean that we no longer need to return to base at the first sign of Mutie presence, though we can if things get too much." A small glint flares up in the young man's eyes as he mentions the threat of Super Mutants. "Suits me just fine."

You guys can continue to RP, purchase from the caravan, or just head to the Vault; let me know!

Darius sifts through the traders packs looking for sodering irons and electronics.

Thank you good sir.

Eyes the new brotherhood member warily he doesn't like how more and more of then are piling up.....

Female Human (vanilla) Wasteland Sovereign 1 [Machinesmith(CombatEngineer/Bombadier)/Scholar]

Deirdre gives Tyra a big hug before saying goodbye. But first, she gave her a quick tutorial on using a swiss-army knife:

"Ya see this groove here? Just stick your nail there and lift up whatever tool you need to us. You have a whole bunch at your disposal. And look here... that's a cork-screw. when you find bottles of wine, you save them for Sister Deirdre so she can... uh... meditate. You're too cute, kid. The Brotherhood will treat you well. Just don't be their dog. 'Cause you're a wolf, aren't ya?" Deirdre howls softly and then gives her a hug goodbye. She then turns her attention to Ian.

"I can do some bandit-cleansing for ya. They're a helpless lot."

Leon's expertise in history excites Deirdre, and she immediately formed a crush. Not actually on him, just on his brain.

"Oh I think we'll get a long just fine, Leon. I to have interest in history. Mainly American Pre-war, though I always enjoy reading history through the eyes of the Chinese. It's almost scary how history is made within the limited perceptions of its recorder."

She has no money to spare for the trader. She's also holding onto the Hall's Pistol for now. I haven't decided yet what I'm goign to do with it... But anyways, she's ready for the vault.

Winter gapes, a forkful of food suspended in mid-air in front of his open mouth.

"But... but... that's the way the Man of Steel sneaks in and takes over! Even if your faith in Atom is as strong as the bunker doors, if you're reading things written by *them*, you're in the fast lane on the highway to damnation! Although I don't really know what that means... Brother Leon, what is a highway ?"

He looks questioningly at the scribe, inbetween darting concerned glances at Deidre.

M Half-elf Gunslinger (Siege Gunner) 1/ Alchemist (Grenaider) 1

He shakes his head.

The Chinese were insane at that point. Nearly everything they recorded then was lies and propaganda. Not that we were much better but we weren't starving our people. The things I saw....

He shakes his head and becomes lost in the horrors he has seen.

Female Human (vanilla) Wasteland Sovereign 1 [Machinesmith(CombatEngineer/Bombadier)/Scholar]

"The things you saw? Oh! You mean on holotapes. Yeah, it isn't pretty. I can only imagine what it was like. I wonder if it's safer nowadays than it was during the war... they didn't have Deathclaws. Ghuuul::shivers and squirms::...."

M Half-elf Gunslinger (Siege Gunner) 1/ Alchemist (Grenaider) 1

Yeah it was good before. Over here atleast elsewhere not so much. And who knows how those places are now we had more bombs than anyone. And we were stupid enough to use them. Gotta give it to Oppenheimer though he new how to make a spade. Yeah holotapes..... yeah that's it. Stupid commies....

Darius suddenly looks uncomfortable and keeps glancing at the scribe. With very little effort Rose can tell that he is lying.

So Rose any supplies you need from the trader?

Male Human Paladin 1

"Official orders eh?" Reading over the updated orders he handed them back to Leon and shrugged his power armored clad shoulders in dismissal. "The more the merrier. Knight Morrow has heavy enough weapons, if we can take them then we will and cleanse the land of their existence. As of right now we have a ghoul holed up in the Vault and I believe it's a cannibal. At least the Feral's that were with it and its deceased friends were. So once we deal with him we can continue our investigation."

At Deidre's sudden interest in Leon Kora gives his old scribe friend a smile as he joked. "Be careful with that one Leon, she's a scrapper and she ain't carrying that machete for decoration."

He introduces Leon to the various members of the Gultchbottom Rover's before sparing a glance at Darius over his strange talk. Chinese? Commies? It reminded him of something but what that was on the tip of his tongue. "We're ready to move out as soon as you all are. No rush, best we be ready for what else lies in the depths of that Vault." He quietly pulled out his empty stimpack and hoped he wouldn't need another anytime soon.

**RESERVED FOR FALLOUT or TECH**

Terry has pretty much been silent but observant this whole time to and at Gulchbottom, taking in the sights and sounds of Gulchbottom just in case he needs to know more about it socially or tactically. He remains vigilant the whole time looking for trouble to present itself or follow. Terry did acknowledge and was cordial to Leon since his mother is a scribe. Scribes in the Midwestern Brotherhood are better than any others due to their knowledge of both science and engineering. Most of them can hold their own in a firefight. Of course, nothing like a heavy squadie but for who they are, they are scrapers. Then again, you have to be a scrapper to survive the Wasteland.

When Terry hears orders, he pipes up ... "What are the updated orders Junior Paladin Kirion? If I am being too quiet, I am use to a little more drama than this. However, I am being observant and watching your six. It also sounds like we have a new Scribe added to our team?"

Male Human Paladin 1

He relayed the updated orders to Terry. "Leon is to accompany us as our medic and historical advisor for whatever we may find in the vault. With his assistance we are no longer under the restriction of falling back when faced by Super Mutant's. We have permission to eradicate any we come across in the course of our mission. Let's lock and load we have a mission to complete and if you plan on buying anything you two I suggest you do it now." With that he snapped on his power helmet and examined his laser rifle, thankful it was operating normally again. He was going to have to ask Darius where he learned to fix energy weapons...

Female Human (vanilla) Wasteland Sovereign 1 [Machinesmith(CombatEngineer/Bombadier)/Scholar]

"Nah, babe. I think I'm gold for now. When we get paid next I'll treat myself to somethin' nice. Mama needs some new leggings."

"No worries, Brother Winter. My faith in Atom radiates with the power fusion, to maximize my isotopic conduit with his world. Praise be to Atom!" Deirdre forms the shape of a mushroom cloud with her arms while making explosion noises.

I'm assuming we're walking and talking back to the Vault, so I figured just RP until Arma posts again.

M Half-elf Gunslinger (Siege Gunner) 1/ Alchemist (Grenaider) 1

[Ooc] sure lol. [/b]

Wonders if Oppenheimer would really want to be worshipped.

Winter in not really sure that was Oppenheimer's goal there. He built the bombs to stop bad people from doing the same or worse and then things got out of hand and ruined the world. Humanity seems to end up destroying everything worthwhile. ...

Female Human (vanilla) Wasteland Sovereign 1 [Machinesmith(CombatEngineer/Bombadier)/Scholar]

"I guess we're not worth anything then!", chuckled the young sprite.

M Half-elf Gunslinger (Siege Gunner) 1/ Alchemist (Grenaider) 1

Not what I ment. We had so much back then and then we broke the world. Now all is fallen. I remember having things that I took for granted I would kill to have now. But those in charge of this side or that decided they couldn't be happy with everything need being met and having most of what they wanted. No they had to have it all. And so the price was paid in our blood sweat and tears. And now I look around at what's left and I see good people who desrved better from us struggling to survive and fighting for every inch. And then in the dark of night I wonder who will come along to destroy you. That is why I fight so that ones such as yourself can live free of thise twisted humans that destroy what they can't have.

There at the about half way through bitterness and regret fill his voice and at the guilt as if he had done some terrible wrong he could never atone for......

**RESERVED FOR FALLOUT or TECH**

For Kora:
Just in case you missed it, it was a team effort that reinitialized your laser rifle and not one person.

Terry snaps to attention, "Sir, yes sir!" ... Terry looks at Leon, "Welcome to Kirion's Repo Squad Scribe-Initiate Hatcher!" ... Terry turns his attention back to Kora, "I am all set to go back to the vault, Sir! I doubt if Gulchbottom has anything to offer gear wise and if it does, it will be too expensive to purchase. Unless, did you find any Stimpaks for sale here and how much?"

GameMaster Armadillephant GameMaster

I was going to post in as Leon, but the board and/or my slow Internet ate it... Suffice to say he's pleasant to you all. Also, Darius finds nothing of value electric-wise in Wrack's supplies, but the trader promises to be on the lookout for them (you can basically put in requests to traders). He also mentioned he'll be back in Gulchbottom in a couple weeks, but before then he'd be in Frenchtown, which you can learn the location of with a DC 15 Knowledge (local) or (geography) check!

Finally, the group returns to the entrance of the Vault. Moving inside, not much has changed... until you get to the doorway where Gergg rigged the grenade trap. There's no need to search for it--it went off, and the evidence is found across the room against a wall, where the torn and bloody corpse of the final ghoul lies. Nearby is the revolver it'd been using, with only three bullets left in its chambers.

To the right around the corner, the lighting grows dim, but you can see another bit of lighting in the next room.

Care to proceed? Or will you search the cabinets and corpses?

**RESERVED FOR FALLOUT or TECH**

Terry brings out his Multiplas upon entering the Vault and stands guard waiting either to pause for searching or press onward. "Are you all going to search the cabinets and corpses or press forward? Be careful, we have been gone long enough for the smart ghouls to trap both the bodies and cabinets."

M Human (Wasteland Scavenger) Cleric (undead lord - undead subdomain) 2 / Monk (Zen Machinegunner)

"We check the cabinets and corpses!", replies Winter, stepping forward to do exactly that.

Terry:

Sorry about that bud, I thought I had done it up in a post earlier when you and Darius first helped with his Las Rifle and I had assumed it was fixed up until Darius fixed it again lol. Thanks again for the help. :)

Arma:

To wrap up with the in town stuff!

Now that he has Tyra convinced I can only assume that the Head Paladin should know and Kora was going to hit his parents up for help getting the girl settled. Electing to officially move out of his long abandoned room as he has a bunk with the other Junior Paladins in the barracks (assuming). That way Tyra can ease her way into a new life, with a pair of people who would genuinely care for her.

Kora also knows that no matter how pissed his dad is, he wouldn't turn away a little girl. His parents, like him, are good people and despite always being busy they'd understand.

He'll send the Recruitment Form and a Letter to his parents with someone if possible, his dad can present it to the Head Paladin and the ball can get rolling. If it isn't possible we can roleplay it later when I go back to debrief at the bunker. ;)

Also if I ever get to being too much let me know and I will slow down~, but I tend to play my characters like real people. :)

As everyone moves around the room searching and checking over the bodies, he decides to stick close to Leon. Acting as a wall of steel for the less well armored scribe and ensuring that he would survive at least the initial strike of any gun wielding enemy...

Perception 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5

He stood ready to defend himself with his Las Rifle out and cycled up. He hoped however that the last ghoul marked the end of any resistance they ran into in the vault. He tried to remain focused but he couldn't help but think about the little girl who's life was changed forever.

Not my quote ~

One part left alone, two parts tragedy... Tyra... The Brotherhood can adopt her and provide her with strength. It'll be up to her to rise above this and hopefully my parents don't kill me for volunteering them...

"Looks like you guys owe me a grenade!" Gergg says with a chuckle as he admires his handiwork and retrieves the string and pin before aiding Winter in searching for loot on the corpses and in the cabinets.

Male Human Paladin 1

"If we find one it's yours, no qualms here." He picked up the revolver and checked the revolving cylinder before placing it inside his pack. "We'll worry about separating what we find later, other then ammunition and a grenade for Gregg that is. When your all ready lets press forward and clear this vault."

Looking to Darius and Terry. "When we press forward we will utilize the same formation, except when we engage hostiles lets try and utilize fire team tactics. Shot and move, lay down cover fire and pin down hostiles. If they don't belong in the vault and refuse to surrender then put them down. If we can close in quick we can end the fight. I will make the pushes forward as my close combat weapon is fairly deadly. Terry I will need you to hone in on the enemy, knock them out or kill them with your first shot. Darius, your overcharge and aim make you just as important as Terry. Make every shot count."

When the others were done searching he laid them out as well. "Gergg your the best recon we have, if you spot something then pull back and report it. If things get too heavy get cover and we'll be right behind you. If you can provide cover fire or pin down the enemy that would be great. As for you Winter, your aim may be off and we'll have to teach you how to take the kick of that submachine gun, but I suggest you stick close to Gergg if situation allows it. Between You, him and Leon you'll be able to provide some heavy cover fire and hopefully pin down hostiles."

He didn't care about what they faced ahead, if it was hostile then it they would end it. If it begged mercy that would be different but at this point he expected everything in the vault to be a potential enemy and he planned on taking a certain little recruit back to Delta bunker. So dying wasn't an option.

Despite all the heavy tactics talk we are probably going to be fighting the same way as before lol. :) You know the saying about best laid plans~

M Half-elf Gunslinger (Siege Gunner) 1/ Alchemist (Grenaider) 1

"I probably shoulda told you guys this earlier," Gergg says sheepishly after listening to Kora's tactical advice, "But ferals and muties ignore us ghouls. I could have walked right up to the ferals who were down here before and not been attacked. You smoothies set 'em off immediately, but they won't treat me like a threat until I really provoke 'em."

"As for the other ghouls that were down here, all bets are off. If they're up to secretive sh*t they don't want nobody knowing about, they're liable to shoot first and ask questions later if they spot me."

"Basically, Winter, stay a few steps back at least and if I see ferals or muties I'll let you know to stay put."

I haven't been tracking my ammo consumption very attentively, so I'm just going to say that between the shots I've taken and the ammo we've found I still have what I started with. Also, I'll take this opportunity reload the clips in my original pistol and the one I got from one of the deceased ghouls.

GameMaster Armadillephant GameMaster

Sorry about the delay, the last couple days I've been pretty busy.

In the cabinets, you find a good deal of trinkets and personal belongings along with the long-dead bodies of townsfolk. Totaling it all up, Gergg guesses its worth anywhere from 50 to 200 caps, depending on the buyer.

Keeping track of ammunition would be very nice, so as to keep the feel of having to scavenge, but don't worry about it hugely--if we're off by a few shots, meh.

**RESERVED FOR FALLOUT or TECH**

Terry responds to Kora, "Yes sir, technically we will be using CQB, fire team tactics are for the field. However the end goal will be the same, kill the enemy before they kill us. I do agree that I should be on point with the multiplas after Gergg, then either Darius or you can be up front with me and the other can watch our 6."

M Half-elf Gunslinger (Siege Gunner) 1/ Alchemist (Grenaider) 1

I should probably let you guys know I have a landmine as well. I didn't name it. I didn't want to get too attached. It'll come in handy I'm sure."

Should I go ahead and level up, GM? I'm still not sure on what I want to do. We have a healer now, so I'm thinking maybe Trapper(ranger)/Sniper(rogue). Your input is appreciated, but we can move that convo to the discussion page.

**RESERVED FOR FALLOUT or TECH**

This would be a perfect time to level. Really, town would have been the best place to level but I am not going to complain if we level now.

Male Human Paladin 1

Arma already said after we deal with the vault, we can level then. Besides there several of us and we've handled everything thus far. Also if we are discussing changing the game up, right now wouldn't be the best time to level as we don't know what decisions or changes are coming. Just my two cents, i'm off to bed lol.

The group moves through the door into a short hallway that leads to...

THE NEXT ROOM. (Don't worry about moving around, nothing much of importance strategy-wise will happen in here, this is just to give you a notion of the layout.

The room is simple, with the obvious main door to the Vault itself opposite you, the view interrupted by a single computer console sitting in the center of the room. There are four tables also set in the room, each with a number of figurines on it in different positions.

Knowledge (history) DC 15:

These figurines are of the famous Vault Boy, the logo and mascot of VaultTec, the company that designed and manufactured the Vaults.

There are three miniatures on each of the side tables, and two on each of the tables by the door. All are on small pedestals, and they are arranged clockwise starting with the left table in this order.

1: A man in an exaggerated walking pose, half bent over.
2: A headless man collapsing backwards, his hand clutched to his breast.
3: Two men shaking hands, both smiling.
4: A man held still in a somewhat heroic pose, but rather than the bright colors of the other figurines, this one appears to be made of stone.
5: A man running while looking over his shoulder, an expression of fear on his face.
6: A man held slightly off of the base of the figurine by a bit of clear plastic, a flowing cape behind him.
7: This man has his hands to his head, an expression of shocked horror on his face. The color fades from the center of the figurine so that its extremities are clear plastic.
8: This man is in an old-style nightshirt and cap, yawning deeply.
9: This man is shaking hands with something inhuman... (Knowledge (nature) DC 10 reveals it as a bear)
10: This man has an expression of pain and fear as he raises his hands up. The paint makes it look like he's bleeding copiously from several wounds.

Alright, guys. Interacting with the computer is an obvious choice, as is seeing about the figurines on their stands. You can also make some Knowledge checks.
