Anyone heard from Veronica's player?
Can't say I have...
The player, Technical Difficulty, last posted from any of his aliases on Monday.

Just quickly letting you know. will be busy from today till later this weekend. We are getting a kitten(Siberian), which wasn't due to happen till almost the end of the year. Change of plans made it possible to get him sooner. So today and we are getting ready to receive him, and tomorrow we fetch him.
=^^= so very excited
Will post during the weekend when i can

Sorry for the inactivity - been having a rough time at work lately. Had to start going in early and working with only one other cook in the kitchen has been wearing me out. Thankfully, I'm getting a new job here in a few days so that'll help make things easier xD I'll be more active now - though if you still want to replace her character, I understand.
And that's good that you weren't in the accident at least! o:
Veronica Miller
No problem ^^; Sorry for disappearing like that - simply put, "it is what it is!" I don't like not having time for my RP's seeing as I'm in about four of them, but this last week has been a killer. Not anymore though! xD I talk to the manager of the new place in the morning then hopefully should be starting there by the end of this week - maybe sooner! Then it's bye-bye stressful job, hello more organized job! xD Plus getting paid more always reduces the stress levels :P
Edit: Oh God, I just realized that I nat20'd that initiative xD Watch - this will be the only time Veronica ever crits. Wasted on something non-critable xD

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Ozak will be out for a few days to take care of some personal issues. I'll run his character until he returns.
What? Says who?
Ozak Daggertooth
So, can we move on? Or is real life getting in the way?
Ready to go whenever!
Ozak Daggertooth
Did our GM vanish into thin air?
This is the second time this has happened with this character. :(
Sarona Epsilon
It kinda seems that way...
It's happened three times with Sarona, too.
What do you guys say to finding ourselves another GM?
Ozak Daggertooth
It seems like a typical GM doesn't realize the amount of work required in running a gestalt game. Burnout and demoralization happens.
If someone is willing to step up I'm happy to continue. Not too many people want to run Gestalt games but we can go ahead and try.
Veronica Miller
Lol It's the first time for Veronica, but it's still disheartening.
And it really doesn't seem like he could've been overwhelmed considering how we practically just started this campaign xD Perhaps life just got in his way.
Lemme know if we get a new DM or anything - I'd be happy to try again with you all : )

Gestalt games are hard to balance and require a lot of customization by the GM.
I was playing this character in a kingmaker game that didn't make it to the first encounter. We had some good RP at the beginning and then the GM just vanished before the first combat.
I suspect he started to look at how much work he had to do in terms of modifying the published encounters, and may have realized he bit off more than he could chew. It could have been the same for Lost 33.
Ozak Daggertooth
I suppose it depends on how much time you have available.
I am running a RotRL home game with 6 players. I have had to do a number of conversions (sometimes out of my own ideas) and I often find it difficult to find the time and energy to do so.
Anyway, I made a thread asking for a GM here:
http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2tnfp?Stillborn-Iron-Gods-Gestalt-game-looking- for-GM
We will see if anyone takes the bait.

Here is to hoping =^^=

Here is to hoping =^^=
I got a PM from someone who said "maybe." It depends on another game he may or may not be running. Keep your fingers crossed.

Any word from our prospective GM?
Let's give it another day. There is another campaign he might end up taking over (though last time we spoke he thought it would be doubtful). But he spoke to them first so if that falls through he will take over ours.
GM Architecture

Howdy folks!
I was that prospective GM, and I did indeed cede the other campaign to another interested GM; their party of 6 was split 3/3 on which of us they'd want to run it, but the other interested applicant had prepared the module in the past, whereas I had not. In the interest of time and amiable party relations, I withdrew.
That means, I'm more than free to take over this!
I got a copy of Iron Gods to browse over, and try to get a feel for what I'd need to do to bring it up to par with a Gestalt party. At least in the initial part here, as well as in the same time interest, I'll probably just pop another mob or two in; combat will be easier at first, but I'll have time to adjust future encounters more thoroughly.
I'd like to think I can tell a good story, when I take enough time to properly format a post. Hopefully, Sarona can attest to that; we play together in a Second Darkness campaign. I'm still establishing a routine on here, something I'm sure takes many months to do (especially as I find new games in which to participate, until I find my "heavy load"), so, unlike a lot of the most-praised GMs, I do not post like clockwork. I'm "constantly" on here; I check the Paizo site like most people check social media, and am usually available to answer any questions, even if it's via a poorly-formatted mobile post.
That being said, it seems likely at the moment that my scene-setting posts will take place in the morning hours, EST. I can readily make one of those a day, possibly with another in the late evenings. This includes weekends for me, but I'm not going to be a stickler for that from the players. I prefer those, but I'll leave it to your discretion if you'd rather I post shorter, but more often.
I also, admittedly, have done little "crunching" or reading what you've done so far. It seemed in the best interest of everyone that I familiarize myself with the AP as-written first, to get myself into the setting. If you'd like me to pick this up, I'll spend my time today reviewing your characters, and the portion you've already completed, and will (likely, it depends on my son's nap) be able to get my first "real" post up before I go to bed this evening.
If you're interested in having me with all of the above spelled out, then I'll send a note to have the campaign transferred over. I see you use Roll20 for mapping; I personally prefer Google, but if everyone is set up for the site, I can work with that, as well. It may take an encounter or two for the maps to not be obnoxiously stretched, but I can get it sorted.
I appreciate the consideration!

Welcome, good and glad to see someone willing to take up our game
i am GMT+2, also my work makes it hard to always post every day, weekends are worse. so you are not the only one ;)
Ozak Daggertooth
Welcome!
Glad to see you have figured it out.
Take your time getting ready; just keep us in the loop as to where you're at.
Veronica Miller
I am most active on my days off - I generally have three days off a week (usually falling on Saturday through Tuesday) but I can always manage a to get a post in on the evenings :) The more active the campaign, the more active I am with it too xD
Happy that you're interested :) Sounds like it'll all work out to me.
Ozak Daggertooth
Send her a PM, and give her a few days. She may have stopped checking this thread.

Grats. And thanks

If Tesla decides to drop, my friend by the username "Uret Jet" would love to be a part of this x3 He posted the character "Etern" in the recruitment tab.
Was trying to find the character, but he seems to have deleted the alias. I know it was supposed to be an android and likely an investigator for one of its classes.
Do you recall what the other class was going to be?
Veronica Miller
Lol Yeah, he sent me his character sheet: http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=755651
He was an Investigator/Swashbuckler android. :) He's super-eager that he might be accepted (he's the one that had even told me that this AP was up xD) and he's usually always active on the forums. Gonna miss Tesla if she disappeared - hope everything's going okay for her :( Uret's gonna be happy though xD
Sarona Epsilon
I have a concern about part of Uret's Gestalt class combo. Specifically, about the Investigator half of it.
Sarona's built to be a crafter/trap-breaker. I've just had to deal with a scenario where one of my old players was being overshadowed by another player who had much the same skillset as she did--I'm a little concerned about that, really.
Ozak Daggertooth
Sarona's built to be a crafter/trap-breaker.
I don't know the investigator class that well, but it should be noted that Uret only has a perception of 7 and though he has disable device he has no thieves tools. So I don't think Uret was expecting to be the trapfinder of the party, though he would be okay at it.
Skill-wise it looks like Uret is meant to have lots of knowledge skills.
Sarona Epsilon
Except that when 2nd level rolls around, the Empiricist archetype allows him to use his INT modifier for Perception, Disable Device, Sense Motive & UMD rolls.
Veronica Miller
I told him your concerns and he said that he wasn't planning on taking his character in that route and he's more than willing to discuss his ideas with you so you'll both be on the same page :) He doesn't want to step on any toes or render any of us obsolete. You can shoot him a message if you want - he's open to talk about things with anyone. ^^
