I am starting recruitment for a running a Pathfinder Society adventure as Play by Post (PbP), of Rise of the Runelords: Thistletop. The module is for levels 3-5 (ONLY). This will be recorded for PFS credit.

Therefore, this is an open recruitment accepting a table of five to seven dedicated PbP players (taking up to 7 due to possible attrition).

If you have played other PFS scenarios, then it is the same but running as play-by-post rules. This adventure will lock in a PFS character for about 16-20 weeks if posting daily. Level 4 PFS Legal pre-generated PFS characters are also acceptable.

For players not familiar with PFS or posting here, I'll post a few guidelines.

• You need a legal PFS (Pathfinder Society) character. PFS information is here.

• Post your legal character. (Paizo People --> Aliases).

  Here is Fendahl Silvermane for example.

• You must be able to post at least once per day for 15-20 weeks. I will work with you if you let me know in advance of upcoming absences (vacations, business travel, illness etc)

• I do not require your previous Chronicle Sheets. I assume you will be honest with me and your fellow players. If a question of an item or race comes up, I may ask to know where and how you got said item.

• Maps will be posted through google docs. Please make sure you can access this service if you sign up.
  

Recruitment will open now and I will select the roster of 6-7 players from the candidate submissions (if there is enough interest).

If you have a question, please don't hesitate to contact me. I have run about a dozenr PFS scenarios online via PbP if you are interested in my track record. Also, I roll initiative by group for encounters to keep things moving, but saves and attacks you roll your own.

Hi, GM Aarvid! I hope Desmond and Omrax survive their little tussle on the river.

Raoul is a 3rd-Level (he just got to 3rd Level, I need to update his character profile) Elven Wizard. He was raised by his parents to be a great wizard as part of a special consortium in his home land of Taldor, but Raoul lost his concentration and failed to make the proper impression for the elders in charge.

Disgraced, there was no place for Raoul to turn except for the Society, this path being suggested by a young alchemist that he had befriended. Raoul hopes that through success in the Society, he will be able to bring some honor back to his family name.

Raoul is a Diviner and prefers using spells to buff his allies and deal indirect damage to enemies, though he does have some evocation spells available to him. His constant companion is his rat familiar, Dr. Gonzo.

What is the starting wealth?

I want to thank you for running this. I only have one character who I could use at the moment, this one as a matter of fact, but he's tied up in a pbp. I think it will be ending soon, but I'm not sure if it will be soon enough to join this game. Still thanks for running the game, I look forward hopefuly to having something that I can submit the next time you run something.

@Truin: It's a PFS game so unless you already have a 3-5th level PC you would have to play a pregenerated character.

I would like to throw my hat in. I have this 5th level fighter who is in the last combat of the PBP he's in. Shouldn't be more than a few days if that's okay.

I would play but I'd prefer to keep it to no more than four.

My character is a Outlaw. A man who is incredibly lucky. I had a relationship end in my murdering the women out of anger and destroyed the estate of the man she was unfaithful to me with after robbing the man of his finances. I regret the murder of my former lover. I was caught for the robbery and branded. I like the brand as it reminds me of the way I felt robbing the man.

Hi Winfred, looking at your profile, it does nit appear Winfred is a Pathfinder Society character - starting with the alignment being evil. This will be run as PFS so all characters must abide by the rules linked in my original post.

Feral, My fear is if we lose someone the table could fall apart if we start with only four.

I think Winfred just posted in the wrong thread by mistake. My pbp just finished yesterday. So I'm free to play after all. I'll need to update my online information, but I didn't level up so it won't take long.

Depending on Jory and Feral, we may have enough to start in the next day or two. The length of these mods and character lockout probably deters many people.

Okay so my halfling is new to magic and is still learning of his draconic bloodline. Before it unlocked he was superstitious and in a way still is. Because of this he is reluctant to use magic and distrust other magic users. he is also a barbarian.

I don't have a free character in the range at the moment, but would be interested in playing with a pregen if you needed/wanted another.

Tempting, but I've already got all 3 of my appropriately leveled PCs in pbps and am trying to cut back anyway. (Not very successfully)

Paul, a pregen is fine. Probably any of the level 4s would work.

Ward, is this Halfling a valid PFS character (ie you have played him in other PFS events?) or are you interested in playing a pregen character ?

You've played with at least three of us. You know we're reliable. We don't need to worry about us disappearing.

Agreed. Things will happen faster if there is less waiting on people.

The character has yet to play in a PBP, so I'd have to get all her information online.

I think we have 6 at this moment. Still waiting on one. Can you down as an alternate though .

Well, you did mention possibly taking 7, in addition to waiting on the one.

I'll see about getting her information online and writing up a proper background as to this point it's only ever existed in my head.

It'll likely be early tomorrow before most of her information is up however because I have to head off to work in about an hour.
