Jacen Myles Valeran

Sorry been busy filling out a Personal History Statement for Police Academy. I am back 28 pages later.
Jacen will dash forward and strike out at the enemy, flanking with Holoman.

August Autumnwind
|
August will simply double move instead since his friends were about to reach the enemy. see map
| GM Aarvid |
Kath delays, letting others move up to the caster.
Jacen dashes forward and attacks the priest, cutting him with a well placed strike. The man bellows in pain but remains standing.
Morvius follows next and cuts the man yet again, but he does not go down despite the blow.
Finally, Nguyen An moves in around the other two, and skewers the man with his nodachi. His life's blood pools at his feet as the man dies before his body hits the floor.
"Brotherrrr..."
August - you can change your action since this target is dead. Kath is still in delay.
Kath Undoeth
|
Sorry folks - lost power for awhile due to snowy weather.
By the gods there were two of you?! One crazy was enough for the world! Kath exclaims.
I don't think there is any target left? Otherwise move and attack whatever target is closest available.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Critical Confirmation: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Extra Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
August Autumnwind
|
August would charge at any other enemies but I do not see them on the map. Are they hidden? I thought he told them to attack but I do not see them.
August Autumnwind
|
Augsut will move into the room and ready an attack in the event something comes into a square he threatens, looking for where the darts came from.
| GM Aarvid |
Kath you would need a climb check to get onto the crates where you stand. I will assume you readied since you could not see anything.
Two small, blue-skin creatures with squinty eyes pop out from behind and under the pile of crates and attack August and Kath.
Kath swings at one of the creatures before it can get its dagger to him. It drops with a gurgle from its small body.
dagger: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 1 = 4 for dmg: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
It misses horribly.
=== Round 2===

14-Nguyen An
10-August

1-Little Critters (1 left, 1 bleeding)
August Autumnwind
|
I assume my ready action goes off since it entered a square I threaten?
Flail: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19 for Damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
| GM Aarvid |
Yes, readied for August goes off as well and the second creature is dropped with a heavy blow to the head. Both Kath and August can tell there was some small resistance to their weapons but not enough to save the blue creatures.
*** end combat ***
August Autumnwind
|
Is that all of 'em? August will go and look among the crates for more blue creatures.
| GM Aarvid |
Other than his half-plate armor and a nice looking heavy flail, he has nothing on him to explain who he is or why he was here. The holy symbol and uncanny resemblance to the prior priest with the captives below the docks seems to be the common thread.
Holman Nimblefingers
|
Holman climbs down off the barrels and addresses the group. "Well, do we explore the rest of the sewers, or do we see what's upstairs here? Me, I'm not usually one to leave a stone unturned, so I'd prefer to make sure we're done down here first."
| Argust Autumnwind |
August spots the nice heavy flail and tries to compare it to his own. Hmm, nice, but I think mine is better. August is ready to move wherever the party goes.
| GM Aarvid |
The heavy flail is the same quality as August's, but made of normal steel instead of cold iron.
There are several very heavy crates and large barrels in the room. Some are marked with large red "X"s painted on their sides or lids. You saw similar markings as part of the last mission.
August Autumnwind
|
August notices the markings of some of the crates and barrels. An, didn't we see this mark before? What's it mean?
Morvius Charthagnion III
|
Very good Mr Autumnwind, yes we did. Lets check those crates. Also, this man is a cleric of Groetus according to his unholy symbol.
Morvius moves to the near crate marked with an "X", opens it and search its contents.
Take 20 for 20 in perception.
Kath Undoeth
|
While the others are looking around the room Kath examies the stairs going up.
Would this just go above ground or does it look like it leads to another room.
Preception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
| GM Aarvid |
Morvius takes a full minute or two to check the crates marked with the red "X". The crates are 6-feet-tall and weigh 500 lbs. The barrels are 3 feet tall and weight 50 lbs. each.
Meanwhile, Kath climbs the stairs. The stairs lead to a large hidden
closet in a storage warehouse above. He finds the closet has rope
and block and tackle. The door at the top of the stairs is 10 feet wide.
Nobody is seen within the dark warehouse above.
Kath Undoeth
|
Nothing up here but rope and tackke Kath says, closing the door behind him and going back down.
We ready to move on? He askes, prehaps somewhat roughly. I only want to be down here for as brief of time as possible.
Kath moves back into the sewers, awaiting his companions.
Morvius Charthagnion III
|
Recognizing the dead cultist as a convicted criminal wanted by the crown for crimes against the empire Morvius will remove his head to present it to the authorities.
I suppose so but shouldnt we search upstairs?
August Autumnwind
|
August will go where An goes. Seeing Morvius take the head of the now-dead enemy he looks confused. An, why'd he do that?
| GM Aarvid |
Kath heads south back into the sewers with Nguyen An and August close behind.
Of those remaining in the room, who is following the others, who is staying in the room and is anyone going upstairs?
| GM Aarvid |
Assuming the other two follow as, well, Kath heads down the next tunnel and finds another 4-way intersection.
Shining the light to the left and to the right, both appear to be dead-ends. No bodies nor anything else of interest is found.
Continuing straight, crossing the flowing sewer water, yet another 4-way intersection.
August Autumnwind
|
We should keep goin' straight, me thinks. That way we won't be lost, right An?
August Autumnwind
|
August will wait for Kath to do his searching before moving forward. He'll use his darkvision to see if there is anything down each passage before moving.
| GM Aarvid |
The west the tunnel and south tunnel seem to go on into the distance beyond your light sources or vision. Looking east the edge of the light seems to show a pile of debris and a room beyond.
Someone apparently constructed a large dam here made of wood scraps, ship beams, broken crates, and rocks.
| GM Aarvid |
The party moves along the east branch, approaching the pile of debris blocking the water.
adjust locations on map if you want a different order etc
| GM Aarvid |
As Nguyen An looks, he sees beyond the dam is a
room that once functioned as a catch basin for the sewers but
now has dry, clean floors. In the northwest corner of the room,
a sewer grate is set in the floor, and a huge chalk drawing of a
rat about to pounce is sketched on the floor near the dam.
A human male spots him and steps closer to a trap door in the floor, taking up a defensive posture.

August Autumnwind
|
August will go with An, ready to see what the group wants the fighters to do in this situation. An, he's just waiting there for us, why?
Climb: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16
August Autumnwind
|
OK, sounds like a good idea!
Thought I posted this earlier, but if August has a move action left he'll walk toward the man and say, Well, whatcha waiting for? We won't hurt ya if ya don't try hurtin' us.
Of course, if a member of the group wants to have August stay back, he'll listen as always.
| GM Aarvid |
Holman hustles around the upper level of the room towards the eastern ledge looking down on the man and the trap door.
Holman, When you run, you can move up to four times your speed in a straight line. Moved you back to the corner on the map.
Nguyen An and August will climb down safely to the floor.
August I moved you back for your 40' of movement...of which most is consumed in climbing down at 1/4 speed.
Morvius digs out a rope and starts down the wall as well.
Kath and Jacen still have actions...
