For now go ahead and finalize crunch and everything you need to do, Gameplay will start when I know where the other two players are coming from. This is where rules can be debated, so feel free to ask questions and (Please) play nicely. :) If any of you feel like a rule or a stat is "game breaking" then I will take a look at it.

As for crafting feats, they are only active during gameplay, so your starting equipment is not discounted by them. Anything you make during the game, however, is affected by the crafting feat. Hope that makes sense.

I'll need to rework Tamm's gear because I was using crafting to make his weapons. It won't hurt nearly as much as the folks who were using Craft Wondrous.

I can fiddle through that in the morning.

I had originally conceptualized a kasatha cleric/rogue. But getting enough uses of dimension door is getting complicated.

Unless that was a prime reason for the selection, I think I'd like to switch to wizard/rogue.

I had also thought about the PrC evangelist. However, that requires owning the book as the specific vows and boons are not OGL.

Would you be open to a switch on the kasatha from +2 wis to +2 int?

Hey GM, since an 18th level gestalt character takes quite some time to build, and I had no desire to waste such effort if I wasn't chosen, I have yet to make the Grey Spectre. With Christmas coming, I might have some time, as I am off from work from Thurs till Mon, so that should help.

However, I understand if this is a serious problem, and will bow out if you think waiting on me will be too much of an issue.

Also, Wivvy, I am curious if you'll allow this more cerebral, and quicker Sylph.

Finally, for our prepared casters, will be getting any bonus spells(that we don't pay for) added to our spellbooks at all to signify spellbooks we've found while adventuring, casters we've studied from, etc?


Ok items done, and she looks ok, I may change some spells around to get her doing more Luck stuff. Her big thing is Luck, she can give it to others and use it herself, the next is healing, she can bring you back and heal, fix up etc. Next is Ki, I took a feet that lets her channel Ki in place of healing. S if your a Ki user, you get some back when she channels. She is not has strong as she was because of the no pre crafting but she still has a high AC is OK to hit and has Vorpal attacks, that I hope will make up for her lack of hard DMG. The one big hit was a ranged weapon, I have 11k left to make one for her and looking into that now. Her fly speed is slow but she can move darn fast. 110' move is good I think, with spring attack she could be a real nice hitter is a smile fight. I really wanted a ring of telekinesis but at 75k its just to much. I'm double checking her Sheet now for big mistakes but she seems 99% there as far as I can see.

Wivvy, which side of the "can you take 10 on UMD" argument do you fall?

I've currently got UMD as one of my skill mastery skills, I can swap that out and change skill ranks around if you don't think it's legal.

Also, how do you feel about modifying enchantments on existing named magic items? (e.g. raising the enhancement bonus on Celestial Armor from +1 to something higher)


I'm looking to fulfill the role of flanker and battlefield control. I will also be able to take care of trapfinding.

With gestalt, I expect quite a bit of overlap between us. Where are you planing on fitting into the group most effectively?

Well, if we've both got 18 levels of rogue for max sneak attack and we've both got the Dimensional Agility feat chain ... we're pretty much doing the same stuff.

If I've got a full BAB class on the other side of the gestalt and you've got a caster on the other side of the gestalt, that's where the differences will come in.

I'd figure that I would hit more accurately and often, and you would have more magical tricks.

(btw, I'm still working on how to avoid blowing a Will save vs a Charm Monster/Dominate and assassinating a fellow party member)

Crusade Lord's banner with protection from evil would do the party good most places.

A wand of PfE to cast on yourself when you are going someplace where you can't display the banner covers the rest of the time.

Cap of the Free Thinker would allow two save rolls.

Depending on how high your UMD is, lots of scrolls of mind blank.

headband and tome to bump your will save.

Keep in mind that an order to assassinate your party should be "against your nature", thus allowing a new save.

Cast dominate on yourself, preemptively.

We will definitely have some battlefield control.

Careful selection of our squares will pretty much let us threaten a huge area.

I'm going to be wearing a +3 ring of protection combined with a ring of tactical precision. If someone else had a similar ring, we could swap teamwork feats with each other every day.


Sounds like a plan.

I like:
Outflank - +4 attack when flanking. Umm, can we do this on ourselves since we can flank ourself?

Paired Opportunists +4 on AoO against shared threatens.

Precise Strike - another d6 of SA damage when flanking, per attack.

Stealth Synergy - group stealth at the highest roll.

I've got outflank.

I think Paired Opportunists is the next best.


PO has that note that it limits how many AoO's are allowed.

I need to write this down...

Swift action cast DD.
Make a bunch of attacks. Each square an attack comes from is considered a source of flanking. (One of us should be using a reach weapon, maybe a fauchard or scorpion whip, trade multiple attacks for increased threat)
Flanking lasts until the start of our next attack.
Flanking = threaten. Therefore we threaten each square between any two flanking squares and the position of each other (we have to end up adjacent).

Paired Opportunist
Bob makes the mistake of exiting a square flanked by either of us.
This provokes an AoO from each of us, at +4 circumstance bonus for PO.
The one that didn't threaten that square also gets an AoO.

Outflank
Bob receives an AoO from our ally any time one of us scores a critical hit in the attack round, or from a previous AoO, up to our Combat Reflex limit.

Outflank could come into play from the attacks of PO. I'm thinking that Outflank is much better than PO.

Outflank with Precise Strike means that each attack either of us does in any round we use Dimensional Agility gets an additional d6 damage. That could potentially add up pretty quick.


OMG!!!

I can use a pair of kukri's and a fauchard!!!

I would only get two-weapon fighting with the two kukri's but now I threaten a LOT of squares.

Don't forget the opportunist advanced rogue talent.

Precise Strike just seems ok. I want something more than just +3.5 points of damage out of that feat slot.

You fuse your thoughts with an ally’s, allowing the two of you to fight in tandem, perfectly coordinated. You and the ally each roll initiative in combat and use the higher die result before adding modifiers. This has three effects.

Melee: If you both make melee attacks against the same creature, you both make attack rolls and both use the higher of the two dice for your attack rolls (plus bonuses).

Ranged: If you both make ranged attacks against the same creature, you both make attack rolls and both use the higher of the two dice for your attack roll (plus bonuses).

Spell: If you both cast spells and target the same area or same creature, affected creatures take a –2 penalty on their saving throw against the spells.

You and the target lose these benefits if you cannot see each other or if you or the target is unconscious or helpless.

Saving throws, she has a means to let you re-roll them if needed.

My entire build will be based on tripping and disarming with a scorpion whip.

I might opt to not take the DA tree, just cuz I only get DD via Magus spells, so it might not be as effective.

I think Rosa will be ok in a fight, yep she dos not hit hard but she is fixable and adds a lot of luck to a team :)
She has vows so will not knowingly lie and will try work things out in a peaceful way 1st, if the team attack on sight she may not be happy about that.

We could use someone who could do some magical scrying. At this level we need to be able to do some magical spying/research.

Tamm can walk through walls (ethereal jaunt) and is pretty sneaky, but not much beats a good ole fashioned crystal ball.

I'd also think that some anti-scrying defense would be important. (I guess that technically, that beats a good ole fashioned crystal ball ...)

We also are going to need somebody able to lock down enemies with dimensional anchor. If the bad guys can teleport away after we put a good scare into them, then we just end up seeing them again later.

Anyone/thing that a group of six 18th level gestalt characters would face (say CR20-22 opponents) should be pretty dangerous if you let it get away and plot revenge.

Give the Kasatha a -2 to constitution or wisdom to make me feel better about it, but yes that's fine.

ALSO! As I am working out the meat of this campaign, I realize that it will take a very deep understanding of your character. I'm talking family ties, fatal flaws, dark sides, secret crushes that you had as a kid, best friends, what/who you like/dislike, what/who you love/hate, and anything else you feel like going into detail about.

Nobody has a pure heart, give me a nasty side of the personality. Not necessarily talking about a psychopathic serial killer side, but give me a side that you wouldn't want anyone else to see. Could be a sensitive side, could be a selfish side, could be anything- you decide.

I may find this hard, My PC really dos have a pure heart its the very things that defines her. If we are going gritty batman darkness kind of thing, that is the very thing she dos not stand for. This dos not mean she sees the world in back and white like some comic book hero/villain. She is very very wise, and that affects the way she acts. She dos not lie, tell untruths or half truths, If there is bad in everyone then there MUST also be good, a redemption point that can change them. But she knows just as she stands as a pure heart so other seek to stand for a corrupted heart. She knows her empathy while being good can also be used against her. The Villain seeking to use the innocent as weapons or shields, like I said she is wise. Her darkness is to IF she found darkness in herself. Remember she seeks to become a demi-god and so must test herself to grow and learn. To see if she if she can truly become what she seeks.

Think of her more like a Jedi Knight over a Super hero, she is always mindful of the dark side.

Scrying I will look into that, may move her to Oracle from cleric if it really needs to be done.

Hey Wivvy, would it be alright if I took Deadly Agility as a feat, or can I add Agile to my whip, so I don't need to put too much into Str? It won't be a true dump stat, but it will likely be the one I boost the least, if you allow either.

What's your view on arcane armor mastery? In my own tabletop games we houseruled the swift action need, spend the feat, get the benefit.

In that case, look for some deadly agility in Tamm's future.

I'm working on some more details from Tamm's background. I see him as having a lot of the same characteristics you would find in a Lawyer or Consultant who has focused everything on success in their career, to the exclusion of everything else.

Along the way he has made some enemies and crossed some people though.

@Fnord: a Menacing reach weapon could make things even more ridiculous.

Hey Wivvy, couple of questions regarding items:

1) Would it be OK to have Gloves of Dex like in 3.5, AND a Belt of Str and Con? If so, would the gloves cost more at all?

2) How much roleplaying/social interaction with the world at large will there be?

3) Any chance you'll let me have one of my favorite items from 3.5, Belt of Many Pockets, to serve as basically a utility belt? :)


Belt of Many Pockets 3.5:

This broad belt seems to be nothing more than a well-made article of clothing, but closer examination reveals eight small pouches along its inner front. In fact, a total of sixty-four extradimensional pouches exist in the belt, with seven more "behind" each of the eight readily apparent ones. Each pouch is similar to a miniature bag of holding, able to contain up to 1 cubic foot of material weighing as much as 10 pounds. In addition, if the wearer has a familiar, any pouch can hold it no matter what its size or weight. The familiar has no need for food, water, or air while inside the pouch, but any other living creature of suitable size placed within a pocket has enough air for only 1 minute, after which it suffocates.
Anything stored in the belt's pockets is effectively weightless and doesn't affect the wearer's carrying capacity so long as the belt is worn around the waist. If removed, the belt weighs one-tenth of the total weight of all the items stored within it.
While worn around the waist, the belt responds to its wearer's desire to extract something (by opening the correct pouch) or store something (by opening an empty pouch). Ooo the Belt of Many Pockets, I loved that item in 3.5, it was cool, most of all that fact you could keep you familiar in it safe and sound. What a lot of players do now and what I have done is have a Custom made as a Belt HANDY HAVERSACK + FAMILIAR SATCHEL, Not as good but close.

GM if we can have 3.5 items could I ask is it ok if I have

Power Talismans::

Power Talisman A power talisman appears to be a simple iron coin emblazoned with a pair of crossed fists. A power talisman ban be enchanted to contain any weapon enhancement of a +2 bonus or less and grants the user of that ability with unarmed attacks. The price of the enhancement bonus is doubled for the purposes of imbuing it within a power talisman, so a +2 bonus placed iwth a power talisman costs the same as a +4 bonus placed within a weapon. Caster Level: 5th; Prerequisites: Craft Wonderous Item, Craft Magic Arms and Armor, greater magic weapon; Market Price: 2,000 gp

I have changed her monk Archetype to 'Ginggong monk of the Lotus' Lotus is very core to her ideals so is a must. Ginggong helps shift things about and lets her be more of what his wants to be.
