Well now we have a problem.
Mr Goblin burner is the only one who knows how to get out of here.
Can anyone bring him back to life?
Darius Redgrave __
"We only need to walk back the way we came to that nice young lady who brought us here. The room where that wind music plays." Darius comments.
He picks up the gnome, so Grergof has his hands free.
Gwenhwyfar Yongisdottir
As the group enters Gwenhwyfar gets up from the floor. "What happened? Is he dead? Not again!"
She goes on to explain "Last time he died the city of Magnimar had to bribe him big style to prevent him from burning down the whole area where the guy lived who had him killed. It turned out nicely in our favor that he is now more or less the ruler of Underbridge. But I wouldn't put it past him to abuse that scheme for world domination."
"Whom will he be angry at once he is raised again?"
Gwenhwyfar gestures to all to stand in a circle and hold hands. "We'd go to the temple this time." She speaks a word and you find yourself in the temple of Sarenrae in Underbridge.
Foxy Quickpaw
The temple is mostly a large room with a red carpet leading to an altar. But the centerpiece of it is a colored window with a bright white glowing orb at the center of the arch of it. The orb fills the whole room and a good part outside the temple with bright daylight.
Only one person, the priest is there at this time.
Gwenhwyfar Yongisdottir
Gwenhwyfar approaches her mom and gives her a hug. "No, we're good. I just needed a place where we don't run into a lot of people. No need to announce this minor setback. I guess it will be mostly expensive and annoying to deal with his temper when he is back."
"I guess you haven't met? These are Spugnoir, Darius and Grergof. Abomentolor's new friends. Grergof is also a follower of Sarenrae."
Brother Grergof Varsk
Greetings Sister. Good to see another shining light doing the truly important work.
But I suppose, we need to deal with Mr. Goblinburner before anything else. Do you think you might be able to help us? He was hit by some nasty spell and just dropped over dead.
Unless Father Redgrave you would be able to bring him back to life tomorow if we just preserve his body?
Darius Redgrave __
"I can bring him back tomorrow, but we'd need to purchase a big diamond to perform a resurrection. As a raise dead doesn't work in this case." Darius explains.
Brother Grergof Varsk
Why don't we save the stone in case Father Redgrave falls dead. That is if we can find that truly huge dimond....
He turns back to Fiona,
Sister those mercies do far more good then what most of us poor knights can do. Saving the world from a lich may be something that gets recorded in stories, but far more faithful are created because you can heal the broken arm of the daughter who fell from a tree, or son who was burned on the stove.
I wish that most of the knights understood this.
As for a meal, that would be wonderful. It has been weeks since we were able to eat something that was not camp food or that we worried might be poisoned.
We should also figure out someplace we can stay for the night, since it appears that we will not be able to bring Mr. Goblinburner back until tomorrow.
Darius Redgrave __
"One of them didn't care, the traitor is locked up and as long as no one looks after them to let the traiter out, the third one should be safe too. Also he likes suffering, so..." Darius shrugs like he doesn't care much.
"Not all gatherings of priests are good company. I prefer it here, thank you very much."
"Well, this company might have brought some life back into the one who gave up."
Brother Grergof Varsk
Grergof settles down to update his book of undead after making himself presentable.
But he looks up as he hears the conversation.
Well I’m glad to hear it Father. We have saved a lot of people, even if not many people will ever know about it. The Inheritor will surely reward you when you get to your final retirement.
Brother Grergof Varsk
Ahh, Mistress Lini, do you sell large diamonds?
Spugnoir2
Although the bulk of the items kept here have long since crumbled away to dust, a search of the room gathers up various valuable components such as gemstone dust, bits of gold, and finely crafted tools worth a total of 1,200 gp. And there is something that might be one of the greatest treasures to be found in the dungeon. Sitting idly forgotten on a shelf near the northwest corner of the room is a nondescript black stone, that Spugnoir easily identifies: a philosopher’s stone.
5x(+1 human bane arrows (10), potion of cure moderate wounds, +1 chainmail, +1 composite longbow with 10 arrows, masterwork halberd)
Darius Redgrave __
Darius enjoys a large bowl and a second helping of the offered food. The fancy stuff at Abomentolor's Magic Mansion is good, but sooooo not Darius' style. He definitely isn't ascetic, but he enjoys the simple pleasures. Like a bowl of homemade stew.
After a night in the temple, Darius prepares for the day in his prayertime. Especially for bringing back the dead.
He gets the body of the gnome and places it on a bed. He invites all who want to join the ritual into the room and then locks the door to not get interrupted. As everything is ready he starts the incantation. A lengthy prayer that takes a full minute.
At the end of the minute, the golden glow of holy energy first fills the room, then gets sucked into and focused by the diamond, and infused as a ray into the dead body, consuming the diamond in the process.
Once the gnome moves, Darius finishes the session with a casting of restoration.
Abomentolor Goblinburner
Abomentolor jerks up into sitting position "When I get my hands on that sucker, I'll..." Realizing the environment he stops and tries to make heads and tails out of the situation.
Brother Grergof Varsk
Peace, Mr Goblinburner. The spellcaster has been sent for final judgement in the boneyard. You however are safe back in the city thanks to Father Redgrave.
Abomentolor Goblinburner
"Hey cool, thanks." Abomentolor tells Darius with admiration. "Last time I died we first had to find someone who can fix that. Now we have you in our group, doing that. That's awesome!"
On Spugnoir's suggestion the gnome frowns. "Water for that one with the ugly character. The others can have some beer." Abomentolor offers.
Brother Grergof Varsk
We should bring them some food as well.
Do you need some time to rest Mr. Goblinburner?
Darius Redgrave __
Darius groans on Grergof's question about the unspoken or shall we delve into the dungeon again. He throws a round of lesser restoration for all affected.
It's only Spugnoir, isn't it?
Darius Redgrave __
Darius facepalms himself. "Could you have said that 15 minutes earlier?"
"Also I don't believe that you can make wands that cast the heal spell. "
Abomentolor Goblinburner
Abomentolor uses the time of Spugnoir's absence to fetch some beer, bread and sausage for the nice prisoners. And a waterskin with water for the bad guy to wash down the dry bread.
"I'm ready too."
