While traveling throughout Golarion, your group makes its way through Varisia. You travel to all the well traveled cities and metropolises, soaking n the culture and occasionally doing an odd job here and there for a room or a few extra coin.
You reach Magnimar (Bartleby you have to leave your minions at the entrance to the city. The guards are adamant about this and stick firm), and while at an inn you hear a bard telling tales of grandeur and wealth. She spins a tale of a blank dragon, living in the Mushfen swamplands. He shows a scar he received while battling the fearsome creature, and that he was the only one to escape alive.
He sees you as you enter, and notices are well equipped you are, and like a moth to a flame, he comes over to you.

Hello loves, what brings you to our grand city? Have you heard my tale about the ferocious dragon that left my beautiful face all deformed?, as she turns her face to show the scar.
You seem like you know how to handle yourselves. Anyway I could convince you strong, handsome, and beautiful people to join me in taking down a nasty black dragon...could I?, as she bats her eyelashes at Bartleby.
I am not asking you to help for free of course, what might your terms be?

            He? She?
Bartleby climbs on the table.
"Hi, I am Bartleby Nutmeg. I would be willing to take out this black dragon. We need information about it though. Where in the Mushfen does it make its lair? Under what circumstances were you attacked? What is it's name? How old is it? How big is it? Do you know anything special about it? You must know a lot of lore as a bard so please share your fascinating tale. After we know the information we can discuss terms."
Bartleby sips his mint julep and nods smiling to his companions.

She gives her halfling friend a nod and a grin, this should be fun

She raises an eyebrow at Kale, Sure love, fair enough. My friends and I, heard of a nice score to had in the Mushfens. We went in, scounted it out. We encountered a few hazards but nothing we didn't handle. We saw a nice pile of gold, and went in to grab it. Low and behold, a black dragon was waiting and it go the drop on us. We fought well, but it was too much for us. The rest of my party bit the dust she stops as a tear fall from her eye. The though is rough for her to relive.
Look, I want revenge for my dear friends, please. I want their gear back to give to their loved ones, you can have the rest of the damn dragon's hoard. So...what do you say handsome

So, when you are ready to depart, meet me at the entrance to the town. See you soon.

Ready. I resized Martin, because he is huge size, and shrank down Bartleby because he is tiny.
Bartleby has Prayer spell running 40' radius. All allies get +1 hit/dam/save/skills as a luck bonus. All enemies get -1 to the same. (could affect the stealth/perception listed above moving 2 in our favor).
He also has running Blessing of Fervor on the group, so everyone can pick a bonus from the spell's list each round the spell runs. (click link to spell)
Bartleby is also mounted and trying to be stealthy hunkered down low on Martin's back. (tiny creature on huge creature)

Can Bartleby cast Light on one of Kale's weapons or something? Kale and Amir will be taking the +2 attack, AC, and Reflex Saves for this round, putting his AC at 30 and Reflex Saves at +10. Fort is at +8 and Will is at +4, all thanks to Prayer spell. Future rounds he'll probably use the extra attack. With Feather Step he can probably reach the nearest foe with a charge, ignoring difficult terrain.
Stealth, ACP, Prayer: 1d20 + 12 - 4 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 12 - 4 + 1 = 18

            I need a few clarifications:
1) A line usually needs to run through a square, not along the vertice of squares like you have drawn. Normally what he did wouldn't be totally legit, as he would have to pick the row of squares Martin is in for the line, or the row with the tiger.
2) Bartleby is tiny and mounted and not in that row of squares, so is he even affected?
3) It seems a stretch that the line could past through the northern row given the cave wall in the way ( or even the southern row of squares), unless the map is sort of representational and not super precise. Not trying to ruin the dragon's grand entrance, but trying to understand any tweaks going on :)
Rolls if still needed
[bonuses from protection from evil, blessing of fervor, and prayer]
Martin Reflex save DC 22: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (18) + 16 = 34 - Success, Evasion, no damage
Bartleby Reflex save DC 22: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (4) + 18 = 22 - Success, half damage, absorbed by Protection from Acid
Bloody Skeletal Tiger Reflex save DC 22: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26 - Success, half damage
Martin Will save DC 19: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 - Success
Bartleby is immune to fear due to Blessing of Luck and Resolve
Skeleton Tiger is immune to fear due to being undead
----
Actions:
Martin moves up to the dragon and attacks. (40-45' - move action with epxpeditious retreat, Martin also has the Narrow Frame feat if needed, so doesn't take penalties for squeezing depending on rock walls.)
Martin power attack vs Dragon: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 33
bite damage if hit: 1d8 + 19 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 19 + (4) = 24 - second number (4) is electrical damage.
Bartleby commands his undead to move out of the way and attack the statues if they animate. Free action/autosuccess ride Martin.
Bartleby casts Spiritual Ally which summons a floating force guy with a warhammer behind the Dragon to attack twice with its hammer.
Spiritual Ally Flank attack: 1d20 + 6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 4 + 2 = 15
Spiritual Ally Flank attack: 1d20 + 1 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 4 + 2 = 11
damage if hit: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
damage if hit: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Damage bypasses any DR since it is force.
oh, in case the dragon has SR:

If dragon has SR over 29 the Spiritual Ally is dispelled.

That's my personal rule. I use two CRs. One represents challenges the party can reasonably defeat (i.e. it factors in saving throws, ACs, DR, etc.) and is calculated more or less normally. The other is based on the number of individuals in the party (counting companions as PCs) and usually works out to be higher. That way I can give the party an encounter that isn't impossible for them to hit or defeat, but also can scale encounters to match their "extra stuff."

Kit runs past the dragon, tumbling past as the dragon is dealing with Amir. She takes three swipes, narrowly missing with one, but nothing connects.
The dragon lets out another roar, in anger more than anything else.
It takes a mighty bite at Kale, then proceed to try to beat the crap out of Amir and Kit, as they are the only ones in range.
