Well, here it is. Sorry it took so long! Let's get character creation going.
I know there was interest from Freehold, Crimson Jester, possibly DSX. I also have another friend coming to the website to try out play by post to get his gaming fix in. Twins is tough on your gaming schedule!
Basics:
- Check out the player's guide.
- 20 point buy
- I would like to focus on a heroic focused campaign - or alternatively, a redemption theme if you're not starting out all that altruistic.
- Starting gold rolled in this thread.
Did I miss anything?

I have had a blast in the 'Take 1' game, so I would strongly suggest this to those thinking about participating!
Plus, then we can call you guys the B-Team! <3
B for Bloomin' Marvellous
So I was thinking either:
It might be tomorrow (or Wednesday) before I get the PC completed, as I've got to create a campaign in the next couple of weeks.

I think I'm going to go with the neutral gnome female ranger demon loving(not in that way, she wants to study them-think the scientist from pacific rim with the tattoos mixed with the utter nutter from attack on titan who studies the giants) semi survivalist low templar weirdo.

I don't know how well atheism works in a world where the workings of gods are pretty obvious. Not committing to the worship of one, maybe, but atheism seems...pretty difficult.
She would probably view gods as truly powerful beings that we do not entirely understand, clearly altered by the starstone in some potent fashion...yeah, I could see her as a bit of a non-conspiracy theorist, who has an overly calm/simple, almost-but-not-quite-exasperated answer for everything. Also, as a low templar, I want her to be a bit ...declasse? Not really welcome in polite company in a place like lastwall. She is the nerd who wants to study demons and other such creatures, and while she has no problem defending hErself them if they get violent, she would have a problem with people burning their bodies or being wasteful in any way. She isn't a trophy hunter per se, but come on- a pit fiends horn has got to have a MILLION uses...

I suppose a sociopath who gets off on slaying demons because it's the only 'socially acceptable' murdering he can do would be a poor choice then..

Bolded for emphasis. ;_;

So I've made a start on the background**, I still need to tailor it to the campaign with the trait - which in turn depends on the class.
When adolescence hit she shot up like a bean-sprout, suddenly taller than all her compatriots and even many of the townsfolk. This combined with innate clumsiness made for trying times. Thus everything Willow does is with care and a deliberate caution.
A fiery shock of red hair ensured that everyone spotted her from across the marketplace. At first Willow tried hats, however the gusty wind stopped that proposition after the third one flew over the fence to farmer Gilberts’ fields.
Then she tried a dark crude dye, but the ridicule from siblings and rolled eyes by parents made that so much worse.
So one secret evening, she got out a knife and cut the long tresses. Though the shearing was crude and acutely embarrassing to perform there was a sense of liberation; of taking charge of her own destiny. In the morning, sheepishly she walked around town with her new cut. The short hair framed her square face nicely and enhanced her aquamarine eyes, making them stand out despite the ragged cut. No-one really noticed, since the village-folk weren’t as concerned with her as her own teenage insecurities implied.
Then of course, a crusading priestess entered the town. Willow was captivated* by the grace and poise of the priestess, she shyly tried to introduce herself to the mature cleric. With a kindly smile, the elder lady eventually took her under her wing. Giving Willow confidence, by allowing her to see the goodness in her own heart and that although you should take others views into consideration that is not the only consideration.
It was through her mentor that she learnt about tea ceremonies, practised her drawing and had her own small stall of paintings that was sold at the local markets,
As the years have passed Willow has grown into her form. Though complimented by many on her appearance, she doesn’t quite see her own allure; hence she slightly keeps aloof from others. Every month she makes a pilgrimage to the temple of Shelyn, in the big city.
Willow has a few select tattoo’s upon her body. She tattoo’s herself to try and create something beautiful. Though rather than using her body as a canvas, she tries to enhance the natural beauty and lines. Whilst at the same time, she gives every aspect an excess of thought and consideration placed into it.
However recently at the Shelyn temple, she professed something. The abbess chastised Willow for her pride and set upon her a small penance. “To help Ionnia with her burdens.” With a simple nod, Willow moved and picked up the paladins equipment and act as a squire or porter.
*this is Philia admiration, not an erotic kind.
Then Treppa reminded me of a fun PC that I had in another pbp. *shake fist at Treppa* But I'll probably stick with this character.
Now what to be, hmmmm. Tattooed Sorcerer, Oracle, Witch or even cleric of Shelyn.
**it still needs proof-reading & editing

Here's what I sent our gm a few weeks back. Making a few changes but going ahead with this. is it okay if I give her the explorer trait? You can have two traits, yes? I have never played with traits before.
- The Survivalist:
Has been touched by demons before. Has either the stolen fury or exposed to awfulness trait. Is upset by what happened but also invigorated. Not necessarily consumed by desire for revenge, feels it has shown him or her how to survive despite all costs or even to see the positive side of the worldwound. Enjoys being there for days at a time evading enemies or just plain surviving. Will fight if it comes to it but is a reluctant warrior, happier giving foe the laugh. Likes unusual flora and fauna, probably an artist who enjoys sketching demons. Should be quiet, weird optimist. Will fight with weapons that can disable and capture, such as nets, tridents, polearms that are funky; will also attempt to reuse demonic weponry. Equal part scientist and warrior. Will have more survival gear than weapons. Possibly female, definitely young. Could be a halfling, half elf or gnome. Anything weird and stealthy.

Jess Door wrote:And I totally just ordered the last 17 volumes of 犬夜叉. Almost 50% of the cost was the shipping. But I don't care. I've been waiting 10 years to complete the collection!Which story/ manga is that?
I do like some manga, though I'm a tad behind on some.
Inuyasha!
It's tough to type in Japanese, because the "sha" pronunciation of the last kanji is so unusual, looking it up you have to type "mata".
I wonder if I should round out my collection of 名探偵コナン (meitantei Conan - famous detective Conan? "Case Closed" in the USA.)...
hm.

Oh, I've been recommended that before. And I've read/own her other works, I need to get around to getting that one.

I love rumiko takahashi dearly- back in the glory days there was a rumor that she had a place in the village.
I'm considering collecting a manga again, as I'm almost done with cannon god exxxaxion, andbattle angel alita last order has come to a close. I'm thinking about finally picking up madara, although I heard its far different from the ova, and grey is a post apocalyptic classic I'm amazed I don't own. Maybe I should pick up all of eyeshield 21, but I get tired of sports manga pretty quickly. Also, I will never forgive viz for what happened with bastard! .
Maybe gundam ecole du ciel? I heard mixed things, but its uc gundam and that aalways needs support.
Back to the game, I will have a writeup tomorrow night.

Yeah I've got Volumes 1-4 of Cannon God Exxxaxion, a bit too gritty for me really. I've read the first couple of dozen volumes of Eyeshield and it's good but they can drag and the Jump standard of producing 30+ volumes of a successful manga is a tad annoying.
Anyway, divine or arcane.... hmm whichever way, the PC will have a definite preferred Deity.

Well the school getting levelled, the teacher ripped apart/shot by her students. Basically there's so much light-hearted stuff it makes the grim stuff seem so much worse.
