Echos of The Desert (Legacy of Fire AP)

Game Master Rafael Bronzatti

Pbp of The Legacy of Fire AP, using pathfinder rules. (5 Players).

51 to 100 of 152 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | next > last >>

Then for all intents and purposes this character is scrapped. On a class ive never played before and with the stat array that would result....to easily messed up (may i never make a monk to the tune of a random dice roll)

OK, Shaggar is updated. His background, personality, and appearance are all on his character sheet. If you've got any questions, let me know.

Thanks!

Shaggar is one interesting gnoll.

I am not getting enough inspiration to create a character, so I am going to bow out. Have a good game.

Dark Archive

Alright bossman, I've got some info on the Koldemar for you here. The Pathfinder kobold's stuff is located Here

Koldemar:
They expanded some of the feats in the ARG to include Primal and Metallic dragons, but I'm not abundantly worried about it as I was thinking of going with a white anyway.

+2 Dexterity, +2 Charisma, -2 Strength: Koldemar are not enough larger than their kobold cousins to be noticeably stronger and remain just as quick, but they have significantly more endurance and force of personality.
Reptilian: Koldemar are humanoids with the reptilian subtype.
Kolkin: Koldemar count as kobolds for purposes of all game rules (including prerequisites and targeting effects).
Small: Koldemar are Small creatures and gain a +1 size bonus to their AC, a +1 size bonus on attack rolls, a –1 penalty to their Combat Maneuver Bonus (CMB) and Combat Maneuver Defense (CMD), and a +4 size bonus on Stealth checks.
Normal Speed: Koldemar are quick, and retain a base speed of 30 feet despite their diminutive size.
Darkvision: Koldemar can see in the dark up to 60 feet.
Armor: Koldemar have a +2 natural armor bonus.
Clever: Each koldemar has a natural knack for a few skills. Each koldemar selects three skills at character creation. One of these must be a Craft, Knowledge, or Profession skill. Once selected, these skills cannot be changed. These skills are always class skills for the Koldemar, and it receives a +2 racial bonus to them. This trait can be replaced by any trait that replaces the kobold crafty trait.
Languages: Koldemar begin play speaking Common and Draconic. Koldemar with high Intelligence scores can choose from the following as bonus languages: Dwarven, Ignan, Giant, Goblin, Terran, and Undercommon.

Lexibean:
I'd love to share a character history with you. Perhaps at some point the Kobold saved the life of your paladin. Now the paladin is indebted to the kobold (who isn't evil by the by). If you're down for this we can shoot some messages back and forth via PM

Thanks, Obi. I try to make characters that go against type and have enough twists and turns to their personality that they'll be fun to play over the long haul.

No bi0ophilia since that is your first score with a negative modifier you use it. (I know this system is kinda complex, but I like dice rolls but at the same time I know this AP can be hard in certain parts, plus for the unlucky out there I made it the way it is)

gotcha!

Based on Crellan's rolls above, I submit Al'Roque Falrouran.

Still working on background, but the gyst is that wasting disease as a youth left him all but paralyzed - so he spent his childhood reading adventure stories, focused on the pathfinders. Knowing that he would never have strength of body, he studied voraciously, including magic from an early age, to strengthen his mind in hopes that he could someday become a figure such as he read about in his youth.

Pathfinder Lost Omens Subscriber

I am putting together a male Slyph Witch. Should have ready by this evening at the latest.

I've done that before. Only one I ever played was a Half-Orc Wizard in Neverwinter Nights. This was still in 3.5 when Half-Orcs had a -2 Int, so the people on my PVP team probably didn't like me too much. :)

Obi is kind of the same. Who expects a sorcerer to act the way he does? I've played him in a Kingmaker game, and he started off really shy and easily scared. He was afraid to make anyone even the tiniest bit upset, but he eventually came out of his shell.

@Twisemail go ahead the Koldemar is a mounstrous race but it's one below level 20 so it is still balanced.

His new Nickname is Snowball!

I'm interested. Let's see what the dice say. . . .

5d6 - 9 ⇒ (6, 6, 5, 6, 4) - 9 = 18
5d6 - 3 ⇒ (2, 1, 6, 6, 2) - 3 = 14
5d6 - 6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2, 5, 6) - 6 = 17
5d6 - 3 ⇒ (1, 2, 4, 3, 4) - 3 = 11
5d6 - 3 ⇒ (6, 3, 1, 2, 2) - 3 = 11
5d6 - 5 ⇒ (3, 4, 4, 2, 5) - 5 = 13

Edit: nice. I'll see what I can put together.

Here are my dice rolls!

5d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 3, 2, 5) = 15
5d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 6, 3, 3) = 20
5d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 4, 6, 2) = 20
5d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 1, 1, 6) = 16
5d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 1, 1, 6) = 14
5d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 6, 3, 4) = 21

So, the numbers are 11, 15, 16, 14, 12, and 16. Not too bad. Looks like a Sorceror build!

Also, what races can we play as? I was thinking of using one of the ARG races.

Any Races in the guide though I will expect the player to make a good background and to RP accordingly.

Speak of the devil ...

The rest of Saresha!

Backstory:
Saresha was not born in Katapesh. Instead, the little red baby was found on the doorstep of the church of Torag in Almas. No doubt her parents (or someone) thought that the child was demon touched as a result of the reddish skin and little nubbin horns that sprouted from the mop of blond hair on her head.

The priests of Torag (mostly humans, in Andoran) however, recognized her blood for what it was - not demonic, but flame-touched. They named the child Saresha, and tried to raise her in the ways of the temple of Torag.

Saresha was not what you'd call 'tempermentally suited' to life in a church. Naturally hot-tempered, impulsive, and full of the fire in her blood, she often clashed with the clerics and visitors to their temple. However, her resistance to fire, and a natural interest in forging and creating as the priests did, made her a somewhat exciting but still welcome addition to the temple.

As she grew, her devotion to Torag became personal, and she studied with the students to become a Paladin. Though she still struggled with the sometimes impulsive nature of her heritage, Saresha has a naturally good heart, and a keen desire to follow the teachings of her God.
Saresha has also read stories of the Pathfinders since she was a little kid. Andoran, while a good home for her, is a bit boring for her tastes. She's always wanted to explore, to get out into the world, and blaze great trails, but home and hearth have always seemed tantamount to the people around her, and so she has held down those desires.

After her training was complete, the head of the clerics approached her. It was time, she said, for Saresha to face that last demon of hers that she had never faced before; and that was her heritage and origins. They gave her her horse, named Daystar, and the money she would need to journey on from Almas and out into the world she had studied in the Pathfinder logs under her covers at night.

Saresha prayed for guidance. Where to begin? Her parents were never found. Nobody had even a guess as to where she'd come from, and to be honest, Saresha had no interest in them anyway. But she did remember those stories of the Pathfinders ...

First stop was definitely Absalom, where she made her membership with the fabled guild of explorers. Now she's been assigned to explore Kelmarane - and she's set off eagerly. Maybe its coincidence or maybe its what the priests back home wanted for her ... but the land of fire and desert seems like a good start to a campaign for finding herself as much as it is for fighting evil.

Personality:
Saresha is a bit of a hot-head (har har). She always tries to do whats right, and finds that people who are only interested in their own ends are the people who make her angriest of all. She loves a strong drink, a nice warm hearth, and a good book. Shen she puts her mindto doing something, she will do it, and has certainly been instilled with Torag's values of hard work and the forge. Her specialty is jewelry, and she carries her equipment for making it with her.

She is a bit nervous about beginning her adventures, but there is only so much reading that she can do before she simply has to go experience things for herself. She's very keen to impress the Pathfinders and move up in the ranks. For the most part, Saresha is an enthusiastic, easily excitable person, though woe betide you if you incurr her wrath. She's here to find out who she is - and that's as much to do with what she does as it is to do with where she came from.

Appearance:
Saresha is pretty - she is tall and has a full enough figure though it is usually mostly obscured by the banding of her metal armor. She is a bit odd-looking though, to be considered a traditional beauty. She has reddish colored skin, and from her forehead sprout a pair of little blunt horns. Her hair is a wild, golden thing, an untameable mass of blond that looks far more like fire than it does hair. She usually has to have it back to stuff it under her helmet, but when its out the only effort she makes to keep it out of her face is a loose braid. Her eyes are a similar, unnatural gold. Saresha is usually wearing her armor, though she takes the helmet off in company. She is almost always riding when travelling, as well. Her horse is a huge palomino charger with a braided mane and tail.

Pending a convo with Twil, Snowball will get added in there somewhere. :) Putting it in her alias too.

Not really getting any inspiration here, so I'm going to bow out. It looks like you've got a lot of interest here so you shouldn't miss me too much. :D

Hope the campaign goes well!

Can my character have the pesh-sorceror feats? I don't remember the name of them, but they are in Dark Markets, A Guide to Katapesh. Also, where do you draw the line regarding what makes a character neutral and what makes a character evil? I have seen plenty of amoral characters who were classified as some form of neutral, but I was wondering on your opinion, since only good and neutral characters are allowed.

What races are in the guide?

would you allow an ifrit?

I certainly hope so...

:D

Saresha wrote:

oh i missed you there.

I'll likely figure out something else

Or, if you both play ifrits, you could weave your backgrounds together. Rivlas? Siblings? Something else that's appopriate? Just suggestions. :)

hmmm, it would be interesting to weave the backgrounds, I'll likely be working on an ifrit bard(archeologist) if you'd be interested in maybe making them siblings.

Sure, if you like. :) Check out my back story first to see if you can make that work - I'll weave away. :D I love joint back stories.

Ifrits are in the ARG you can chek a race in the psrd, i should say where the race came from =D I like Saresha's background It answer her connection to Kelmarene and gives me some ideas to work with. By the way recruitment will continue until tuesday(Day-19)till I post saiyng it's over.

okay, read over the backstory

one way to maybe go, he was raised by the church as well, but was the bad seed as it were in comparison to his sister. Showing no interest in the worship of Torag, but a mind similarly absorbed with adventure and the pathfinder society. They will probably have a friendly sibling rivalry within the society at least(and probably other aspects of everyday life.)

Here's the alias I'll be using, info in the profile is from a previous character, disregard that for now. He'll be boisterous, hot-headed, jolly, a seeker of adventure at heart.

would you consider allowing me to alter the bard weapon proficiency slightly to theme? Replacing the rapier with scimitar? both are one handed martial melee weapons that deal 1d6 and crit on 18-20/x2

Sounds awesome! Haha. MB twins if they were left at the same time?

i thought the same thing!

I'm not sure if this is the best possible avatar, I'll see what else i can find

I'll see if I can do that and get a complete submission up tomorrow after work

Yay, I helped!

...

*ducks out of veiw*

@The Silver Prince: Yes you cand take Pesh sorcerer feat. About neutral and evil. I see the neutral characters simply as egotists, they can do some bad things but its not their norm, while evil characters do evil acts constantly.

Rolling stat dice because I'm interested
5d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 5, 1, 5) = 19 = 16
5d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 5, 1, 1) = 17 = 15
5d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 1, 4, 2) = 12 = 10
5d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 1, 2, 3) = 14 = 11
5d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 4, 2, 2) = 14 = 11
5d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 1, 1, 3) = 15 = 13

Interested in both the generation method and the AP. Will get a character put together and posted tomorrow.

5d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 6, 2, 4) = 18=15
5d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 6, 3, 2) = 19=15
5d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 6, 6, 6) = 24=18
5d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 5, 1) = 13=11
5d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 6, 4, 4) = 21=14
5d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 4, 4, 6) = 25=17

Meh I'm surprised by what people come up with... XD wouldn't have made none of these characters.

It's b'cos we're awesome!

This is my favorite part of gaming.

I hate that moment where you finish a wall of text in your alias and then the Paizo website eats it.

Wordpad to the rescue - da da da!

I would like to add my name to the possible recruitment.

This character was made for a 20 point buy Legacy of Fire that I was not lucky enough to get into, so I will have to edit her.
It's a summoner, but I'm far from a powergamer :)

I would like to join because I had some PBP fun, but then the groups suddenly died on me.. Strange, and really sad!

Rolls:

5d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 1, 3, 5) = 18 >> 14
5d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 1, 2, 5) = 13 >> 11
5d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 4, 6, 6) = 25 >> 18
5d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 2, 5, 3) = 17 >> 14
5d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 6, 6, 1) = 23 >> 17
5d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 6, 1, 5) = 20 >> 16

Wow! Euhm, if these are a bit over the top, I will not mind downgrading some of them.. Just let me know, I will wait before I edit my character to these (godlike) stats.

So, I just spent ages working on a back story for a different application and I'm super burnt out at the moment, but all this talk ofinterwoven backgrounds gave me an idea.

Feel free to shoot this down and I'll start a new character, but:

Nursemaid Gylarra
Lvl 1 LG Dwarven Cleric (Torag)

Super Slimline Backstory
Gylarra is an elderly dwarf of 212 years, who has spent most of her life in service to Torag in Almas. She is slow and methodical in her faith, working constantly to shape and forge those around her into stronger people. Some would call her old-fashioned, and there is no denying that she is a stickler for rules, but Gylarra is always welcome to take ideas onboard if they can bring about greater good.

As protective as her deity, when two orphaned ifriti were left on the doorstep of her temple Gylarra could not resist taking them into her care. Never having had children of her own Gylarra took them to be a divine blessing. Given how firey they were, some have suggested that the two would never have made it to adulthood if they didn't have a carer as patient as Gylarra. Indeed, they tested her patience to the limits frequently.

Still, mothers are mothers regardless of blood. And so, when the two twins finally set of to adventure the great world as pathfinders, Gylarra couldn't resist fretting. Eventually, the worry (and loneliness) got too much, and so Gylarra set off to Katapesh to make sure the people she cared about most came to no harm.

As I said, I'm happy to be shot down and come up with another character if need be. Thoughts?

EDIT: Some google'd art

Haha, are we your orphans?

Hahaha, yeah, that was the idea. I thought the idea of the strict/concerned elderly mother figure chasing after her kids would be quirky fun (and I didn't have any other ideas for this campaign yet).

Like I said though, I'm happy to go back to the drawing board if it's overkill.

Heehee.

I loves it.

Ah I'm glad. I'll wait and see what Bio thinks of the idea, then flesh out her full backstory and stats.

Dark Archive

Alright, Snowball has a Profile now. I'm still sorting out the background and such. Mostly I want to figure out a story for how he met Saresha. Gimme an hour or three and I'll have something fairly solid.

I'm so excited about this.

made a character but got writers block for a backstory. this sucks.

how detailed does it need to be? I have plenty of bulleted ideas but not put into a story format.

hope to get something done in time...

Dark Archive

Portion of my background proposal went to Lexibean. We'll see what we can come up with.

Ed, what are you bringing in as a PC?

I have a human rogue (a bit of a ladies man/swashbuckling type) a "street rat that thinks he's all that"

Dark Archive

Sillyness:
Riffraff, street rat
I don't buy that
If only they'd look closer
Would they see a poor boy? No, siree
They'd find out
There's so much more to me

I think that'd mesh really well with the "Reclaiming Your Roots" trait. Perhaps seeking to redeem the reputation of your family / mentor.

I've always really liked the trope and think you could really do it justice.

ETA: I may change the Ogres in my backstory to Gnolls and his trait to "Gnoll Killer." It'd also make it way more fun to play with Shaggar.
