So, rules question: the Engulf monster ability says the victim is pinned, and cannot escape the engulfing creature's body until he/she is no longer pinned.
If I activate Ushyle's Liberation domain ability, I am no longer able to be grappled or pinned.
My rules question is...so then what? LOL
Dungeon Master S
I'm going with it can't stop you from pooping yourself out, but CAN still smack you as you leave its square.
Ushyle
Oh! But with Escape Route Ushyle can avoid any AoOs! w00t!
Ushyle emerges from the ooze awash in a rose-red aura, and slips carefully alongside Ham and Applejack in his retreat

As Ushyle uses the gifts bestowed to him by Milani, Whistle Pig sends a pair of bullets straight into the ooze! As Ushyle leaves, it tries to slam him with a pseudopod: AoO: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28 for DMG: 1d12 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20 and a FORT save.
The pseudopod continues to lash out, going after both Doxon and Hamilton:

The elementals pound the ooze into nothingness. Whatever magic was left within spills out. Finally, the party can catch their breath!
For taking on and defeating a trio of the legendary benaioh, each hero earns 1,600 XP.
Curious about the area, and why it warrants such guardians, the party searches it thoroughly. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much. The lacquered cabinet to the south holds several large blocks of dried clay. In addition, the cabinet holds a clay tablet with spidery words on it. Raen determines that it acts as a scroll of transmute rock to mud. There are also and two bricks (20 blocks) of blackfire clay.
Vael Oakfist
Vael lets a bit more of his life force flow to Ushyle before he calls upon his wandering spirit ally to instill some energy within the group.
Channel Positive Energy: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 4, 4) = 15
Channel Positive Energy: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 3, 1) = 9
Channel Positive Energy: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 2, 1) = 9
Dungeon Master S
Not long after the party checks the room, Ham, Rean, and Ushyle all start to cough.
Raen spits out a worm. Each of you takes CON DMG: 1d3 ⇒ 2.
You three, make a new FORT Save.
Vael Oakfist
Vael looks over the sick ones.
Heal: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Dungeon Master S
Looks like all three are diseased... And all three are now sickened
Wormrot: Contact; save Fort DC 20; onset 1 minute; frequency 1/day; effect sickened plus 1d3 Con damage; cure 2 consecutive saves. The save DC is Constitution-based. A creature that dies of wormrot transforms into a benaioh over the course of the next 24 hours.
Raen Varkath
As per discussion over Slack, Raen was never close enough to contract the disease -- only her summons.
"This could be quite efficacious in the right circumstance," Raen comments, putting the scroll-tablet into her haversack. She looks at Hamilton and Ushyle with concern. "Those two do not look as hale as they did a minute ago."
Looks like I bought antitoxin but neglected to purchase antiplague, unfortunately.
Dungeon Master S
So adventurers. You're in the end of a valley. Two with a disease to fight. It's afternoon. What's the plan?
Vael Oakfist
Vael pulls out a clear vial with a brown liquid in it. It smells terrible. He unstoppers it, and hands it to Hamilton. "Drink this. Trust me."
He then mutters a low chant, placing a hand on Hamilton and continuing to Ushyle. It helps restore their vitality.
Lesser Restoration on Hamilton: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Restoration on Ushyle. This should remove all the Con damage at least.
Vael Oakfist
Caster level check for remove disease on Hamilton: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Dungeon Master S
Vael works quickly to halt the progress of the disease, though Ushyle still has an infection to fight off.
The party rides back to the major intersection in the valley. There it's still barely lunch time. There's back to the main valley, or finishing out this marshy low land....
Dungeon Master S
After a quick repas. The party decides to stay in the lowlands. To the southwest they ride.
A low fog rolls in, dancing between the slender gray tree trunks and painting everything in a silvery mist. The blanket of brown fallen leaves crunches softly underfoot and the air smells fresh and earthy....
Dungeon Master S
A hunchbacked and sickly-looking giant with boil-covered skin is trudging up the canyon from the southwest, leading a patrol of a several ogres. The ogres appear to be playing a game in which they hurl a furry ball at each other while laughing and making jokes. On closer inspection, the ball turns out to be the severed head of an unfortunate wood giant whom the patrol came across. Upon noticing you however, the giants end their game in favor of new sport with smaller humanoid prey.
