When Zey tells them they'll be going into the tapestry, Aeris gives Hiro a significant look. He doesn't quite say 'I told you so,' but his intent is pretty clear.

He then looks to the Master of Spells and asks, "You say there may be items we need for the ritual inside the tapestry. Do you have any idea what they might be? I've traveled inside the thing before, and it's vast. Or are we meant to learn that from the Codex?"

Unfortunately, Zannah doesn't gain any insight beyond what's already been discovered.

Aram Zey adds, "I don't know anything about what to expect on the other side. Nothing at all. If this item helps, then there must be more. Unfortunately it doesn't look like we know much about anything else specific. I think you're meant to learn that from the Codex. The ONE thing I can tell you about where you're going is that it's only the vault. This shouldn't be a vast place on the other side."

Takihiro is the only one left. He has relevant skills. Will advance after his rolls.

"Into a vault huh? Well, maybe the statuette will be located there." Says Hiro as he reviews the passage that gave in the information to see if there was any kind of description other than Ivory.

"Hmm, the text says we will need to crush the statue into powder. Might be best of we have some kind of mortar and pestle. Perhaps a hammer would work as well." Looking around at the other's weapons he notes that Baldwyn's hammer will likely get the job done.

After a little more than a full day of research, the team has figured out about as much as possible. The use of the book takes it's toll on you:

Sorry, I know it's a weird one and seemingly arbirtrary.

Aram Zey instructs you to take care inside the Tapestry, and good luck completing the ritual. "Be ready for anything. As our expeditions into the Hao Jin Tapestry have demonstrated, the demiplane contains a wide assortment of creatures and dangers.”

You have time to prepare. Check in when ready.

When you are ready, Aram Zey gathers you in the meeting room where the Hao Jin Tapestry hangs. He explicitly warns you not to attempt to return to the Material Plane unless the entire group is prepared to leave the vault. If one of you leaves the demiplane, that one can only return to their companions within the Sacred Vault if s/he is in possession of the Abysium Codex. Therefore, if one of you returns to Goka, at least one other must return with the codex so they can both return to the vault, or the lone one must bring the codex back with him/her.

This time, when you touch the tapestry, you touch it together with the Codex in hand. A 2-foot-diameter sphere of pulsing blue light floats
behind each of you as you arrive. (Each one is visible only to the creature whose journey to the tapestry created it.)

The air in this circular chamber is cold, stale, and smells of death. Seven large, dark-furred humanoids lie in a bloody heap near the wall behind you. The lone exit to the chamber is ahead.

Seeing the pile of dead creatures, Aeris slips his bow off his shoulder, ready for trouble. He approaches the corpses, asking the others, "Any idea what these things are? I'm curious how they died, and how recently."

He studies the bodies, looking at their wounds to try to figure out what happened to them and how long the heap has been there.

Baldwyn joins the others in shopping for a remedy, but reads the description before purchasing.

"For nausea, diarrhea, and upset stomach, relief lasting for as long as 10 minutes."

"That's it? Ugh, think I'd rather stay sick than be better and get sick again."

He puts the scroll back and keeps looking. He picks up a vial of a thick, milky, pink liquid. He read it and happily purchases is. "Wismuth salix, whatever that is..."

He drinks it and hopes the concoction works. Fort: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 8 + 2 = 16
Since 16 was fine before, will assume it worked.

With a large belch, Baldwyn feels to his old self again. Oddly, though, his tongue has turned an interesting shade of black... But this does deter him from being ready to go.

30 gp to buy a vial of wismuth salix (src: Ultimate Equipment).

"Ugh. This place looks inviting?" He says pulling out his dark and light daggers again, as he sniffs the air.

Baldwyn ties a bit of cloth round his face, regarding Hiro as the kitsune checks the air. "Good sense of smell ain't seemin' like a good thing right now."

He also grabs his ioun torch and sets it spinning around his head to make up for any discrepant lighting levels in the vault.

Lookin' at the corpses, he mutters. "Great. Bugbears. Whatever did 'em in may still be here. What d'ya think? Is it that dragon lady back from the dead?"

You travel down the hallway for a couple hundred feet when you hear voices ahead. Before you can make out what they're saying, they go silent. Ahead about 60' the hall opens to a full sized chamber and you see a human run by. The voice that breaks the silence is quite clear, "PEOPLE! It's a way out! Kill them and let's FINALLY be out of here!"
