Lucky rolls of initiative and diplomacy, strictly speaking Ethendril's is our best spokesman that we assist. :).

Harlis relaxes back down into the saddle as he sighs and murmurs so only the party can hear. "Well perhaps we should be asking if the is another authority figure we can speak to instead of their Chief, maybe even Sesserak..."

He smiles and invokes a silent blessing of Iomedae upon Ethendril. Touch of Glory, +1 to the next charisma based skill check within an hour. 5/6 uses left.

Ethendril smiles through his beard as the kobolds back down a bit.

"We do not desire to be men of blood. We do need to speak with someone in authority. You may either let us pass so that we can find this kobold, or you may bring this kobold to us," the paladin implores.

Wayreth attempts to aid the diplomatic effort by slowly unloading his crossbow in plain sight of the kobolds and slinging the unloaded weapon over his shoulder.

Diplomacy assist for Ethendril: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Silver Crusade

LOL! You're not supposed to be able to talk your way past the guards. (Clearly, they didn't expect diplomacy efforts like this!) However, I'm inclined to let this happen because your rolls were high and these kobolds are nothing but a speed bump for most parties. So, I'm going to have them let you pass; but they're not helpful. You merely talked them down from hostile to indifferent. They're certainly not going to tell you about the inner workings of kobold politics and who controls what faction. That's far too much to expect.

One of the kobolds says with much bravado: "Sesserak is a punk. She'd better not show her ugly mug back here again! Go in, if you like. But, if you start any trouble, we'll kill you!"

Silver Crusade

Ethendril nods and gives the kobolds a casual salute as he lets down his guard and proceeds again along the trail.

"You have chosen wisely," he says. "Your chieftain will be proud of you in the end."

Harlis says a small prayer of thanks to Iomedae for a fortunate outcome and places another Touch of Glory on Ethendril. He then returns back to the rear of the party order in case the kobolds think of springing an attack afterwards.

So the group proceeds into the kobold lair. We waiting on a map update and more description or from someone else?

Silver Crusade

Sorry for the delay. Unexpectedly busy weekend.

You continue on and come to a fork in the tunnels. Onto B2 or B3?

Silver Crusade

Cleric of Iomedae 8 | HP 0/ 68 | AC 22 (21FF, 12T) | F +9, R +5, W +13 | Init +1 | CMD 17

Seeing the fork from the back of the group Harlis quietly suggests. "Maybe we should listen and proceed fairly quietly so as not to rouse everything at once we might want to get a sense of the layout, both politically and physically." Before asking a beat later. "Does anyone speak kobold by the way?"

Silver Crusade

Given Wayreth's relative sneakiness, let's say that he scouts a little way ahead and can tell that:

B2: This foul-smelling cave has thick mounds of moldy straw on the floor.

B3: Wide steps have been carved into the rock in each tunnel that intersects with this large cave. A five-foot-wide circular pit is the chamber’s only feature.

Taken aback by the sudden appearance of the rats, Wayreth takes a 5ft step back, raises his crossbow and fires at the nearest one not engaged in melee (green one).
