Actions in Round 2 so far:
Dren -- cast Shield of Faith on Edmin
Jax -- cast Cat's Grace on self
Judge -- cast Shield on Morsum
Morsum moves over adjacent to the non-burning trapdoor through which Dren just scurried and readies to attack the Commander if he should appear.
He's already standing on the roof at the top of the trapdoor, but he's not coming down. So, Morsum readies an attack, which doesn't happen.

Xenfal
remember admin has to strike first people! and yes healing on grumbles, there are three charges left
3d8 + 3 ⇒ (6, 2, 8) + 3 = 19
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 init
first round Xen will start inspire courage and draw della
Cуровую зиму
Maybe the commander is forcing us into this area 25 for a reason, what I am not sure. He may be waiting for reinforcements.
I will assume the Judge will cast Haste if the commander attacks correct?
Cуровую can cast Invisibility on either Edmin or Jax if you think that will help versus the commander, please let me know.
Cуровую can also cast Grease (DC 15) on his weapon or Hold Person (DC 19) using her bonded item but I will assume the commander has very high saves, I am asking for your opinion here please.
Also Cуровую landed on area 24, she had the wand of Fireballs because she did not land on the roof but right in front of the door to 25.

Reminder Grumbles took no damage from arrows just from the swarm.

Whoops, my bad -- missed it. Okay, so I'll just roll for Edmin and Ragnar to fill things out. In order: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
So initiative order is Edmin 22, Judge 21 Xen 18, Ragnar 18, Morsum 16 Dren 12 Jax 10 Zimu 9 Commander 3 Grumblejack 3.
Acted in Round 2 so far are Dren (cast Shield of Faith on Edmin)
Jax (cast Cat's Grace on self) Judge (cast Shield on Morsum) Morsum (readied action if Commander comes down the stairs) and Xen (inspired courage). Still waiting on Edmin/Ragnar and Zimu.
Note that if Edmin attacks this round, he won't have the benefit of the buffs unless he delays.
Judge Tohram Quasangi
I did not know that Cy had Invisibility left. If you do, I will cast Haste next round. Then Cy casts Invisibility. Then Edmin climbs up to face the commander. Edmin can then on Round 2 full attack with Smite. If we are lucky, Morsum will have gotten a trip in as well.
Judge Tohram Quasangi
If the commander does not come down, I can cast Shield on Edmin to give him +4 to AC. Haste will give him another +1.
I can also cast Enlarge Person to give him reach.
Cуровую зиму
You can cast Shield on another person that is not your Edilon?
Edmin does not have to go through the trap door, Grumbljack can Fly themselves through the doorway on area 25 to area 24 to the roof.
Cуровую has one more Invisibility memorized, and two on Scrolls.
--
I was doing simple math during the Holidays, assuming this guy is a level 8 Paladin, very few of us will survive one round toe to toe with him, none of us will survive three rounds with him, combined actons, Haste and Hold Person may give use some hope.
Douglas Muir 406
You can cast Shield on another person that is not your Edilon?
Hah, good point. No, you can't. Sorry, Judge.
Edmin does not have to go through the trap door, Grumbljack can Fly themselves through the doorway on area 25 to area 24 to the roof.
However, as a Large creature, Grumblejack will definitely suffer an AoO if he tries to move past the Commander.
Basically he's playing 300 and you're the Persians.
Cуровую зиму
But there is a door in area 25 going through area 24, that is not a trap door correct? I am looking at the map, its the door to the bridge.
They don't need to use the trap door.
Cуровую зиму
Guys do you want me to Bluff for one round to buy as time? Or is that wasted action and should I cast spells instead this round?
--
If so I will try to give you guys one round of extra actions, otherwise Cуровую will cast what she is told to cast, she is pretty away from the trap door and she will throw her voice.
If we try to Bluff so we try to figure out what he is doing
'Commander, this is Elsie Zadaria, I am the leader of our ... effort. I wish to parley! Know too that seven of the town's children are in our custody a mile north from the fort.'
Bluff 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26
What spells do you want Cуровую to cast on you guys? I wll cast on who needs them.
Otherwise she will cast Fox's Cunning to get her saves up and Bluff as above.
Douglas Muir 406
As you rush to buff and prepare -- obviously not surrendering -- the Commander looks down at you with an expression of disgust and contempt. When he speaks, though, his voice is calm and a little sad.
"So the halfling spoke the truth. If I had heeded his warnings at the first, Father Dunnigan and the Magister might still be with us." He shakes his head. "That their souls rest with Holy Mitra I do not doubt. Still, that burden is upon me, and I regret it deeply. What I can do, I shall do. Levying justice upon you, miscreants and murderers, shall be the beginning of my penance."
Douglas Muir 406
He looks Sir Edmin in the eye. "And you are Sir Edmin Al'Roth, are you not? Failed Alerion Knight, murderer and convict. Hiding your crime and your shame behind another man's face. At last I see." Lord Havelyn shakes his head. "I knew your mentor, Sir Nonus. There was no better man. How ashamed he would be."
Judge Tohram Quasangi
I asked this before, how much time is left on the Levitate/Fly spells we used? All were 5 minute spells. Morsum had enlarge/flight, Grumblejack had Fly, Edmin had Levitate as I recall.
If these spells are in effect, it will have a great effect on how we act/react.
Douglas Muir 406
AGH! NIMPY! I did not want to say his name as it would Jinx us!
And here I thought you'd forgotten!
Nimpy's been trying to warn the authorities about you for a while now. Unfortunately for him (and luckily for you), the Commander is a cautious man who doesn't believe every crazy tale brought in by a halfling -- even an extraordinarily convincing one who provides detailed descriptions of the enemy party.
The Commander sent a raven to check details of Nimpy's story...

Anything cast before you left the top of the Keep is no longer in effect. It was a two minute flight, because you looped wide to mislead the enemy. It took another two minutes (taking 20) to open the portcullis. Zimu's adventure took 7 rounds, and that's 47/50 right there. With killing the guards, failed attempts at the portcullis, and other odds and ends, the time is well past elapsed.
Dren of the Dark Tapestry
Their deaths were nothing...although they were enjoyable. The old cleric squealed like a girl as we slowly sawed off his limbs. Did you know that we made a special pact with the powers of evil.
Those that we sacrifice never get to go to mitra, we have their souls with us...in the phylacteries we carry. Once we are done here we plan to sell them to Demons...I understand they can consume the souls and pay handsomely for them...so you see their torment will be...permanent.
Dren spins his tale, trying to goad the commander into something rash...
Edmin Al'Roth
He looks Sir Edmin in the eye. "And you are Sir Edmin Al'Roth, are you not? Failed Alerion Knight, murderer and convict. Hiding your crime and your shame behind another man's face. At last I see." Lord Havelyn shakes his head. "I knew your mentor, Sir Nonus. There was no better man. How ashamed he would be."
Edmin removes the circlet and nods his head. "I hate this thing, but it does serve a purpose. Aye commander I am Edmin Al'Roth. So nice of you to finally join us after we destroyed most of your command. I guess all of you types are the same. You stand behind others allowing them to die to protect you, all the while using your Blessed Mitra to herd them to do your will. How many of yours have we killed Sir?"
The word falls from the champions mouth sounding strikingly like Cur."Now that you you have no other choice you arrive. How many could you have saved if you would have delt with us sooner? You yourself said you should have heeded the halfling. Yes Cur, you should have! What will happen here falls on YOUR head! Yours and your like that know nothing of leading men! You speak of Sir Nonus? You are nothing compared to him! Nothing! Come dog, meet your death here if you are a man!"
[Swift Action: Challenge +1 to Hit and Damage. Cast: Protection from Good +2AC and saves.
Douglas Muir 406
Niiiice. -- Unfortunately, the Commander is too old a soldier to be taken in like that. "You say your foul magic can prevent a good man's spirit from finding Mitra's holy peace? How powerful you must be, creature. Strange that you should flee me, then." He raises his sword. "Come, then. Match your magic against my ancestor's blade. I'll wait your attack. Bring it."
[Edit -- just saw Edmin's post. Also nice! Eating dinner, give me a minute.]
Dren of the Dark Tapestry
Depending upon who has the wand of FB, Dren plans to hit him with a charge or Cy should. A couple of those should motivate him at 8d6 each if he thinks we can sit below and rain fire on him...
Douglas Muir 406
The corner of Commander Havelyn's crooks up in a grim little half-smile. Clearly he understands what you're trying to do... and he's having none of it. "Ah. There's enough left of the man you were that this still hurts, eh? Well, good." He stares Sir Edmin in the eyes. "Dunnigan spoke of you, you know. He said you were a good man who ruined yourself. He said you were angry and sad and lonely. And..." the paladin's voice drops low, nearly to a whisper, "he said he forgave you."
Dren of the Dark Tapestry
Don't think anyone in this party is there...so I am guessing he can lie to us all he wants, unless he is an illusionary version of the commander.
+6 is the best I can do.
Judge Tohram Quasangi
With the Commander remaining above, the Judge will hold off on his Haste and instead cast Enlarge Person on Edmin.
Standard - Cast Enlarge Person
--> 1 round casting time - will take place next round if Edmin delays until after me.
Dark Knight, your blade shall have greater reach in but a moment.
-----
I currently have 3 1st level spells, and 1 2nd. After casting Enlarge Person, I will be at 2 & 1.
Edmin Al'Roth
Edmin shakes his head at the Commander's words. "Dunnigan was my friend. Once. But he allowed your Mitra to blind him."
Edmin's face twist in rage as his knuckles turn white on the Brandascar's headsman's axe haft.
"Forgive me? He killed her! He and your kind killed my Dagny! Forgive me? I killed him and I hope he burns in hell! Now come, you arse, come here so you can keep him and the others company!"
Go ahead Judge Edmin has done his actions this round. He will hold for the Commander to Come down for at least another round. So far I think I have +2 AC and saves from PG, +1 attack and fear svs from Bless, +1 Attack/Damage from challenge am I missing anything else? Next round I will smite giving another +2 AC/Attack and +8damage first hit, +4 damage a hit after.
Dren of the Dark Tapestry
Drens assist...
sense motive 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 just made it that is a 28 then
What do you mean, maybe it is the monk trying to delay us while the true commander moves up!

NO SIR! Been thinking of him almost every day of the game sir. Jumping at shadows and all. Tricksy DM!
Well, now it can be told: Nimpy is a very clever guy. Really, not stupid. So his strategy from the beginning has been to (1) stay the hell out of your way, stay as far away from you as possible, but also (2) warn everyone about you.
So, on one hand, your jumping at shadows was wasted energy, because Nimpy has never been anywhere near you. But on the other hand, it was exactly right, because he's been working against you behind the scenes for a while now. More than once -- especially recently -- you guys have said something like "Hey, how did they know X?" or "They seem awfully well prepared for Y!" and I have stroked my beard and chuckled softly to myself.
You can't say you weren't warned about him.
Cуровую зиму
Oh! Zimu, as long as you're around -- would you roll a Will save, please?
Again? Oh oh! I'm getting worried, well more worried Will 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17

NICE! Hey keep this up a few minutes Edmin! Talk about each others girlfriends and wives! (well in Edmin's case his battleaxe) Mention your old friend the Cleric.

Ok. This guy has been taking lessons from my mother. That's one low blow after another. Lawful good is just a different kind of evil. Take him out.
