Rogar Valertis Alastoris
|
Rogar suggested the group planned for this evenience. If possible I would like us to start on the outskirst of Eto devising a plan to foil the customs..."
Rogar Valertis Alastoris
|
Nah... better this way...
Rogar grumbles and mutters a lot as the walls of Eto come into sight:"I don't think we should proceed further. We'll just have to deal with customs again. I suppose we should one of us should enter the city without the stuff we found and get to Torch telling him to send someone to recover the merchandise... and IF some of you is good with lies we could save something from his plundering hands"
Vicendi Beestinger
|
"I've been known to be able to tell a lie or two and have no one the wiser." Vic says with a grin. "Sometimes lying is necessary to get what you need."

Rogar Valertis Alastoris

Rogar nods at Vicendi, smiling widely:"It's settled then! Our good master Vicendi will approach Torch's thugs and tell them to get here if they want their bounty... now we must decide what we can safely abscond from his scrutiny without him being able to determine we sabotaged his plan... any ideas on what we can safely keep out of his dirty paws?
Rogar Valertis Alastoris
|
Rogar gives Akiko a dubious glance:"Seems a tad too complicated my lady... besides chances are Torch gets to know we sold the rod anyway... whatever else he is I'd bet he's well connected... Better give him the rod and something else to make it believable... and we'll save the rest!"
I say let's not risk too much, give him the rod and some other stuff (appraise anyone?) try to keep the rest and hope Vicendi can bluff our way out of this...
Vicendi Beestinger
|
Vic casts a slight grin, "Sounds like I'll go have a chat with Torch then. Hopefully I can convince him to come retrieve the rod."
Rogar Valertis Alastoris
|
Suddenly Rogar doesn't feel so sure:"Well... better try to approach one of his men first... That Torch seems like a perceptive fellow... tell your story to one of his half-orc goons and come back Vicendi. If he wants his stuff he'll have no choice but to send someone... if you go to him he could seize you and we'll have to deal with a very unpleasant situation. Better be careful and take no chances I say"
Btw Rogar being Taldan nobility however petty shows he knows a thing or two about intrigue... he might not like it but he's a born and bred Taldan noble after all ;P
Tarra Spindlethorn
|
" I'm not so sure of this plan... I mean after all Torch already sent someone to retrieve the items...Us! He might get offended if we make him send someone ELSE as well..."
Tarra says frowning...
" We need to be careful in what we do here."
Rogar Valertis Alastoris
|
Rogar shrigs a little:"And, as we upheld our part of the bargain, we are here and the relic he wanted is here. If Torch wants his stuff he can't expect us to risk the customs finding out about it, or us paying for the artefacts. The least he can do is to send someone and deal with the fee himself..."
Vicendi Beestinger
|
"I will go talk to him. I'm sure I can convince him that we are low on funds, or something else that will make him send one of his goons out here to retrieve it."
Rogar Valertis Alastoris
|
Rogar won't, someone needs to stay back and guard the loot... (and btw what do we decide NOT to include?)
GM Baerlie
|
If I understood it correctly, Vicendi, Matsu and Akiko talk to Torch, Tarra, ROgar and Nagagorjo stay with the loot.
At the city gate Vicendi, Matsu and Akiko have to talk to a customs agent, but they don't have anything to declare so they can move on quickly. Grandmaster Torch already awaits you in his bath tube. "Tell me, did you bring something for me? What about the rest of your group, I hope they did not loose their lives." he says with a grin.
Vicendi Beestinger
|
"Unfortunately," the gnome says with a half-smile "my colleagues are still very much alive. But we have run into a little bit of a problem bringing the item you requested to you."
"Well, as you may already know, Pathfinders don't generally carry much money, certainly not as much money as one such as yourself. We're afraid the customs agents will ask far more than we can bargain to pay for, as the item you asked us to retrieve looks extremely valuable. We want to make sure you get the rod you requested, but we need to be able to afford to feed ourselves, amongst other things, and thus can't give all our money just to pass through customs." Vicendi flashes a grin at Torch himself, paying close attention to Torch, looking for any sign that he may be onto them.
"Essentially, we have the item you want but we can't get it into the city. We could use the assistance of one of your bodyguards to help us get through customs, and a little bit of your coin. I'm sure a man like you already has deals in place with these customs agents to allow you to get artifacts like this in and out of the city fairly cheap?"

"Well, if this is the only problem you have, I will send one of my half-orc guards to my informant at the city gate. You will not have any poblem to get into Eto." Torch says. He calls one of the guards in the room and speaks some words with him. After that the guard leaves. "Customs agent Lokri will welcome you at the gate." he continues.

Back to the guys/girls waiting outside the city and then to the gate? Or do you want to do something else?

After a short walk you reach the Beggars' Alley. Two rows of decrepit wooden shacks are separated by an alley that serves more as a filthy runnel than a pathway. Broken wooden doors do little to keep the elements or vermin out, but there is little within to steal. Few of the shacks boast more than a chair or two and several threadbare bedrolls.
This collection of hovels and lean-tos serve as the official hideout for the Hundredfingers gang, a band of cutpurses and beggars comprised of human orphans and a handful of adolescent halflings that pose as human children.
You see a woman trying to sell something to the kids.
Rogar Valertis Alastoris

Rogar tries to determine what's exactly going on between the woman and the children:"The gang here uses children and halflings... I hope we can solve this without harming either...

The woman tries to sell medication. You hear her calling "Potions, salves, herbs! I have a salve which cures scars and teas which cure stomach ache." While she’s speaking Rogar and Tarra notice her amber talisman.
Rogar Valertis Alastoris
|
For a moment the talisman attracts Rogar's attention but he rapidly dismisses it as a token of no importance and waits for the others to act:"Ok... what now?
As you might have guessed knowledge isn't really Rogar's forte...
GM Baerlie

While you watch the woman trying to sell her goods you hear noise coming from the alley. You see three thugs moving between the huts and children. They are pushing over tent poles, and causing enough ruckus that several of the Hundredfingers gang break from hiding and begin to flee. They see you and attack.
