Will just wait on Concussion here for a moment before updating


Concussion will just continue with her performance for now, granting +1 to hit and damage as well as a +1 bonus on saves vs fear

Round 7 - Enemy

Midnight unleashes another blast of super-concentrated air but this time her aim fails her and the lance of air splits a desk in two and sends a computer monitor skittering in a shower of sparks.

Hostages continue to stream out, fleeing the fighting before a bullet flies stray, shrieking as they burst through the doors and shouting for the police.

Once again Akio unleashes a flurry of blows at the assailant facing him and though the robber ducks the first the second crashes into his chest, almost driving him from his feet.

As the man turns to flee from Lucas, the heroes' club careens off the back of his head. The noise is like a hollow thud and with a crunch he pitches forward to land in a heap beside the doors, head spouting blood.

Aoo, Lucas: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19 Hit due to charge
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 and Electricity: 1 = 1

Sensing that they can end this robbery before it really gets started, Lucas then charges at the remaining robbers but not before one of them, reeling from Akio's devastating punch, flails with his stun stick and catches the scientist a nasty blow to the temple. Lucas almost instantly feels sick to his stomach and dimly wonders where a concussion were developing after the blows he has received.

The remaining robber is getting boxed in and he fires his pistol quickly, trying to blast his way out but given that he is mere feet away from Akio, his aim is poor and the shots once again fly wide.

Aiko sweeps his eyes across the room as the man he punched drops to the floor. Spotting the last man standing and big man moving on him Akio charges forward stopping just in front of the man and spins around to deliver a kick to his head.

Concussion gapes with amazement as Akio squares off with one of the would-be robbers in a flurry of fists and kicks, not to mention viciousness of the takedown performed by Lucas as another robber tries to run past him.

Wow, I can't wait to tell the guys about this later!

As the remaining robber continues firing off shots, her eyes narrow. Though her voice continues to ring out over the chaos and the fighting, she focuses her attention on the weapon in the man's hand.

Come on...drop it...

C attempts to Burning Disarm Yellow's gun. DC 14 Reflex save if he wants to try dropping it! She also continues her performance for this round.

Suddenly the pistol begins to glow with a red-hot hue and hissing in pain the main exclaims;

Ah, what the f-! as he snatches his hand away and drops the pistol to the ground.

Surrender!" Lucas yells at the last bank robber. He holds his asp up high, ready to strike if the man goes for another weapon.

As much as she wants to knock out the last thug, Melania grits her teeth and waits to see if he surrenders.

The man seems to hear the commands to surrender but his fight or flight instinct kicks in and he reaches to his belt for one of the stun sticks they all seem to be carrying.

As he does so, Midnight reacts instnatly, punching him from his feet with a sudden blast of air. It picks him up and slams him against the teller booth glass with such force that a crack runs along the bullet-proof material.

With all of the robbers down and incapacitated, the citizens in the bank unleash almost a universal sigh of relief. A few punch the air in delight but there are tears from others and more still who seem shocked into distant silence.

Akio nods as the last man is put down. "Is that it?" He looks to the others as he lowers his fists to this side, taking on a more relaxed demeanor.

Noticing the man knocked out completely he moves over to him on floor badly beaten by the large man. "Let's make sure their all still breathing."

Seeing the last one fall, the adrenaline flows out of Lucas, and he nearly collapses. On one knee, he suddenly feels the effects of the taser sticks. Damn it, they never said it would hurt this much!

Lucas stays there, on one knee and panting for a couple minutes. "Oh, we need to call SHIELD." He tries to pull out his phone, fumbling with it. Finally, he pulls up Maggie's number and hits the call button.

As the last of the robbers goes down Concussion ends her song with a flourish, though the effect is diminished somewhat with most of the 'audience' either silent or in tears.

It takes a moment longer for the surge of adrenaline to drop in her than it did in Lucas, but drop it does and she suddenly drops her instrument with a *glang* and leans against the nearby wall.

"I dunno how those guys like Spider-Man or Thor do this day in and day out," she puffs. "I think my nerves would be shot..."


Even as you all begin to relax and think the danger is over, one of the hostages rushes up to you a wide-eyed look of panic on her face.

There’s a bomb! she cries out. They took Bob and Julie and a few others to the vault, oh God you have to help them, I think they had a bomb!

At the revelation that there may be a bomb in the bank, pandemonium breaks out. People begin shrieking and surging toward the doors, pushing one another over in the crush.

And here I was thinking all that was left was coming up with a justification for our actions to explain to the local peace... uh, protection officers...

Quick then, let's to it!

Feet completely leaving the floor, she surges through the air towards the back of the bank, in search of the vault.

He points at a man moving out of the bank. "Tell the officers whats happened here and to get medics in to treat the injured." He then starts to move with the others towards the vault.

"We had to act, they will understand." He says in defense of their actions.

"A bomb?" Concussion looks up as both Midnight and Akio immediately begin heading toward the vault. "First a bunch of robbers, now a bomb. Okay. Sure. Why not?" she groans as she hurries after the others.

"Do any of you know how to diffuse a bomb? Is it like you see on tv, just a snip of the right wire?"


Lucas is only part way through dialling the number when the teller rushes forward and tells you that there may be more of them downstairs and with a bomb to boot!

You rush west across the lobby and down the stairs the frightened teller indicated. A pair of thick wooden doors at the bottom of the stair lie wide open, a plaque to the side on a brass plate reading; Safety deposit boxes and viewing rooms

The doors lead to a long corridor. With exits to both the north and south. The floor is polished white tile and the lightly perfumed smell is spoiled by the heavy stench of gunpowder.

As you open the doors you see a security guard lying face down in a pool of blood halfway along the corridor.

Lucas limps along with the others. While his injuries might normally slow him down, it seems the chemical concoction he had drunk easily allows him to keep up. When he sees the security guard lying in the corridor, he rushes ahead to get to him. Lucas kneels down and checks the man's pulse. He also looks to see if he can determine how the man was hurt.

Heal: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

Are any of the doors in the corridor open? Also, if anyone has healing, Lucas could use some. He's at 1 HP.


Let's do this in rounds. If anyone is able to heal Lucas you can do that prior to this first round.

Round 1 - Heroes

Lucas rushes forward at the sight of the fallen security guard. As he does so he passes doorways that stand open both to the north and south.

North is the security station. Within he can see two large rows of monitors that mostly show various rooms and corridors within the bank from CCTV feeds. Several however are greyed out as a result of the webbing the robbers placed over the cameras on the bank floor.

Slumped against the desk and still seated in his swivel chair is another security guard. This one with a nasty-looking wound on the back of his head and blood seeping out of it to pool beneath his collar.

South there appears to be almost another mini lobby with comfortable looking benches and decorative artwork. Another door leads off from this area.

Finally, up ahead Lucas can just about see the heavy steel door of a vault but it too lies ajar.

Working quickly, Lucas turns the guard over and examines his wound. He has clearly been shot, a neat hole in his brown guard's shirt is now surrounded by a plume of blood. However, though his face is pale and sweat runs from his brow, the man appears stable and groans lightly as the scientist treats him.

The sound of the alarm is muffled down here and you can hear the sound of crashing about coming from the vault and the private viewing rooms south of you.

A loud voice from within the vault shouts; 90 seconds before this place goes up! Get what you got and let's get back to the boss!

Before Heading Down

"Whoa man, you don't look so hot," Concussion says, catching Lucas by the arm. "Um...now this might sound strange or maybe not but I think I might be able to patch you up. My hand slipped when I was cutting some meat for a sandwich the other day and I got a pretty nasty cut - like, I thought for sure I'd need stitches. But when I was thinking about how much it hurt and how I didn't think I'd have enough cash for a trip to the ER, presto! It started closing up on its own!" She holds up her left hand, showing a fresh and distinct scar in the webbing between the thumb and index finger.

"So...lemme see if I can do it again. Can't make things worse, right?" The young woman chuckles and then focuses her attention on the bruises and cuts on the man, willing them to mend.

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

"Seriously? Work, dammit!"

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

"That's more like it! There you go, more or less good as new," she grins.

Downstairs, Round 1

Aw hell, there's more down here? And looks like they were pretty serious about being willing to use those guns...

Upon hearing the sounds of crashing and more voices, Concussion quietly tries to move up closer to Lucas and the doorway leading south.

Stealth: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

She flinches as one of her shoes squeaks a bit against the linoleum floor and comes to a halt just a few feet shy of the southern doorway.

"What now?" she whispers, looking to Lucas and Midnight for some sort of plan.

Akio watches in interest as Concussion talks to healing the big mans wounds. "Impressive.. " He lets out as he sees the bruises fade.

Getting to the bottom he let's the big man deal with the guard seeing him move he steps forward past them. "The bomb.. I hope one of you can deal with that or we run now, we could try and get one of them to stop it." He then moves forward checking the next door.

Midnight moves up with the rest of the group, keeping a close eye foe where the enemy might be hiding.

There are further sounds of frantic movement from the south and the east and also the muffled cries and moans of other people.

Round 2 - Heroes

Now that they have moved up, both Akio and Midnight can see the other guard, slumped at his desk.

Lucas' bruises fade with amazing speed as Concussion concentrates on them. "What...how are you doing that?" The scientist's mind spins as he considers the possibility of accelerated healing. "Are you catalyzing the normal healing or actually providing external energy to heal the wounds?" His question seems more to himself than actually to her.

He looks up when he hears the sounds up ahead. "They've got other hostages in there! They're probably working in the vault. If we can surprise them, we might be able to put a stop to this."

He begins to move down the corridor, trying to be quiet.

Full move with steath (half speed), should put me at I-21

Akio slowly moves forward keeping an eye out for any other hostages, guard or enemies.

Stepping past the security room he slips in as he spots a guard in the chair. "Wait there's a guard here. Maybe a quick look at these camera will help us." He moves up to the guard and attempts to check if he's still alive.

Heal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16


The guard has a fairly severe head wound and needs medical attention urgently - but he is alive.

The monitors display much of the bank floor but many are obscured and none of the active monitors display the vault or private rooms from which you can hear the sounds.

You done!? a voice shouts, we got less than ninety seconds here!

Yeah, this is a nice haul. Let's get the Hell out!

Hurried footsteps begin approaching you from the east and south but no further robbers are in sight.

Not really sure of what plan might be beyond 'get the drop on them' Concussion quickly hustles forward not wanting to be caught between the group and whoever is approaching from the southern hallway.

Stealth: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

Before ducking into the room with the camera monitors she pauses for a moment.

This is the clincher - let's hope we're ready for anything!

As if in response to her thoughts a small wave of energy seems to pulse from the young woman and wash over the small group, filling them all with a feeling of determination - that they can do whatever they set their minds to.

C will move to H14 and casts Moment of Greatness on the party, which should last for 1 minute.

Lucas moves next to the door to the south where the footsteps are coming from. he prepares to swing his baton at whoever comes through the door.

Move to J-20 and use stealth. Ready and action to attack the first person coming through the doorway. That should give me a sneak attack opportunity.

Melania flies just under the ceiling to pass over the door without being seen, and drops down the other side ready to blase whoever shows their face first.


The group get themselves in position just in time as two more of the gang come into sight.

From the southern and eastern corridors come two men both wearing black suits and sunglasses and with large duffle bags slung over their shoulders. Each carries a pistol in their hand but as they see the gathered heroes they come screeching to a halt.

What the...?

Akio is quick to move as they spot another bank robber charging forward knowing time is not on their side.

He strikes the man cleanly in the chest, with a straight arm punch.

The robber lets out a choked Ooof..! as he is hit with a force equivalent to that delivered by a heavyweight boxer.

Still up for now though unless Lucas bonks him on the head

Lucas swing his baton at the unsuspecting man, hoping to catch him right across the throat.

The thin metal baton slams against the robber's throat, stealing the man's air and forcing him to clutch at it in pain and surprise.

Continuing to hover just above the floor, Midnight glides sideways and throws a hand out towards the robber Lucas has struck.

Allowing her more martially-minded companions to take the lead, Concussion holds her ground and instead begins to belt out a reprise of her earlier song.

C will start her performance for her surprise action! Sorry for the delay.


GIven that the robber is flat-footed, that's a hit Midnight.

Midnight's blast of air raises the man from his feet and send him hurtling toward the wall where he crashes to a stop, leaving a huge imprint in the dry wall before slowly sliding to the ground.

Moving you on

The thick steel door of the vault is ajar. From within you hear the muffled sounds of struggle and upon pulling the vault door open, find four people within.

The walls are lined with safe deposit boxes, a dozen or more of which have been pulled out and forced open, lying bent and buckled here and there on the floor. Cash and jewellery as well as various pieces of documentation are strewn all around the room.

The four individuals, two men and two women, one of which is a security guard, are trussed together with duct tape binding their hands and feet and a thick strip over their mouths. They all gasp and struggle against the bonds and all try to scream or speak at once when you enter, gesturing frantically to a contraption on a table at the rear of the room.

"Damn, you guys are brutal," Concussion observes as her three companions end the scrap before it can really even get started. "Not that I'm complaining!"

As they hurry into the vault, the young woman's eyes first fall to the bound men and woman and then to the thing sitting on the table. "Oh s***, they weren't kidding about a bomb!" She hurries forward and begins frantically untying the nearest prisoner, glancing up at Midnight and Lucas as she does. "Please tell me one of you two know how to turn that thing off!"

"Uh..." Lucas moves to the table and begins trying to evaluate the device. "Get them all out of here!" The scientist moves around the table, not touching the device, but trying to see all sides.

The device is a collection of wires and crude plastic housing that holds a single steel pipe all trussed together with more duct tape. An old electrical clock, probably taken from something like a microwave oven sits atop. It’s digital readout says;

The device does require a successful Disable Device check (unless you can think of some other solution, Heroes!)

Akio moves into the room ignoring the bomb, heading for the prisoners pulling at their bindings.

"I hope one of you can disable that!" He shouts now the realisation hitting him.
