Shortsword: 1d20 + 2 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 2 + 7 = 27 for 1d6 + 3d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + (3, 4, 4) + 4 = 19
Ok shad I will go for its flappy, smelly part this time! thorrpe says as he plunges his sword into the spot where the skin hangs loose

Dwalindor, seeing the thing continuing to hold Albus, will swing again.
"Hold on buddy. We'll get you out of her embrace yet!"
MW Lucern, rage, pa/FF, fav, flank : 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 21

Takara Sawalha
Takara will try once more to Command the creature to release Albus. She looks inward and adds a bit more resolve to this spell.
DC 19 Will Save to negate.
+1 to the DC by spending an Arcane Point.
Takara Sawalha
Uhh... at the moment, one more time. Basically, until I run out of spells. Same for anyone with similar spells like Dominate Person and the like.

Dwalindor is discouraged that the undead woman will not release Albus.
"She just needs a little more encouragement, Albus. Maybe try to kiss her. That usually scares off the other women. HAHAHAHHAAAARR!"
His laugh is forced as he tries to hide his concern in his rage.
DMummy
Bot tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime!
The magus tries to escape from the grasp of the hideous undead who remains unidentified.
CMB: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
He fails
CMB (Grapple): 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (17) + 19 = 36
Damage (Constrict): 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
Albus is now at -4, the creature drops him to turn towards Dwalindor.
Go!
Thorrpe
Thorrpe will attack again. Remember if I hit he has -2 on his attacks and -4 against me
Shortsword: 1d20 + 2 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 2 + 7 = 29 for 1d6 + 3d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + (4, 1, 4) + 4 = 14

Thorrpe
Well done Shad! See truffle! We are useful!
he has renamed dwalindor. You know dwalindor = Linder =truffle

Dwalindor , breathing hard for half a minute. turns around to see who Thorpe is talking to.
"Now...who...are ya... talkin to? First Shad ...and now Truffles? Are you drunk? And if so, you might want to get a refund on that bottle."
He turns to Albus
"Are you ok? Takara, anything we need to do for him? This kady we killed before. She looked like she came back for vengence ."
Takara Sawalha
"Interesting... likely the necromancer who is animating the undead has picked up your scent and commissioned an undead who specifically hates you." Takara reasons.
Takara moves over to Albus and tries to heal the man.
5d20 ⇒ (6, 11, 11, 4, 10) = 42
She says the magic word once and coughs. "Wibble..."
The wand doesn't react. "Sorry... Wiffle!"
CLW: 3d8 + 3 ⇒ (3, 7, 2) + 3 = 15
She quickly heals him thrice over.

Dwalindor, having regained his breath, sniffs his beard.
"My scent? Like a truffle? Ok, now both of you...I had my bath this year already. So it ain't me! Ok?!"
He grunts.
"Let's finish up with her. Make sure she is fully dead and then move on..."
perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13 on the body for signs of its master.
survival: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19 to track back to her origins.

You don't see any clues about who raised her, but you do find some extra items - apparently Velriana was looting the necropolis.
She has a belt made of many bits of tanned leather joined together by thick metal studs, six gold bracelets, a pretty diadem studded with rubies and a tasteful necklace set with smoky quartz crystals - which is surprising because Osiriani jewelry is mostly chunky and awful.
How far did you want to trace her?
Dwalindor the Pahmet

"Hey... What does a vindictive undead woman need with treasure? Should we follow her back to where she came from or do we want to visit the rest of the places on our list first? Just asking since the trail could get cold...but may be a dead end anyway. Hah, Thorpe...get it? I said dead end. Hah. "
Takara Sawalha
Detect Magic on the body and her stuff.
Takara kneels down next to her and investigates everything.
Takara Sawalha
Takara will examine the belt to see if she can determine its properties.
Take 10 for 23. Up to CL 8 items.

Unless we think there is anything to it, we can keep on the original plan. It was more of a curiosity and if does not contribute to the main mission (or delays it) then we can skip it .

I think this s the plan
"Angel Eyes" Albus
So... I go away for a weekend with my girlfriend to a place where the cell connection is bad and you almost kill my character!
Bad DM!
Bad DM!
:P
Albus had already taken some damage from the previous combat, his HP actually went to -12 now. How much hitpoints did Takara healed him?
Slowly Albus gets up from the floor. Thanks, that really hurt...
Thorrpe
dm we are waiting to know if the pursuit of the undead seems like it is our main quest or a side quest. this is an out of game question i think, i know that i am not clear

Press on with the main mission to the next place on the list .

This is our list: If this is a star chart as you suspect, there are a number of areas you could go to review information.
1-The Academy of Skies and Moon,
2-Mahhept's Marvelous Maps,
3-the Pyramid of Arithmetic Bliss,
4-the Observatory of Truth and Wisdom,
5-Pahak's Prognostications and
6-the tomb of Menket Maatya are all good places to start.
If we be done gawking here, I'd say let's press on to the next place"
Dwalindor will follow his star chart to Mehhepts' Marvelous Maps (assuming that is #2 and we are leaving #1)
Takara Sawalha
"To the Marvelous Maps!" Takara yells as she straps the belt around her waist. Can't hurt to have a free weapon on hand.
DMummy
1d100 ⇒ 71
You travel through the streets, avoiding the stream of zombies, ghouls and skeletons rampaging through the streets.
You reach Mahhept's Marvelous Maps, a small shop off an abandoned caravaneer's square. There is a closed door made of ironwood preventing entrance to the building.
Thorrpe
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14 checking for traps on the door
1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30 disable a trap or lock
1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 24 if a second DD is needed
Once that is done Thorrpe puts his back to the wall next to the door, letting Dwalindor open it as he tries to be as quiet as possible
1d20 + 15 ⇒ (16) + 15 = 31 stealth
Takara Sawalha
"We could just knock..." Takara reasons as this is a shop, but lets the blonde man do his due diligence.
Dwalindor the Pahmet
|
So are we in a normal business district or are we in an abandoned area overrun with undead?
If there are no people around watching them, Dwalindor will open the door. Otherwise, if he sees "normal" citizens, he will knock on the door a few times...maybe hard enough to see if it accidentally opens.
"Howdy? Anyone here?"
DMummy
All the locations you're searching are in the Necropolis - you have to choose to leave the Necropolis before you exit!
After you open the door you walk into a small shop that is lined with the honeycomb shelving of scrolls. A small figure appears to be sweeping the floor, and has collected a large mound of dust, sand, cobwebs and spider corpses.
When you enter he turns and seems surprised - no small feat since he's an animated skeleton dressed in the decayed remains of a colorful robe.
His bones are the color of yellowed-ivory, and he has a pronounced overbite. He also leans forward slightly towards you, as if he were near-sighted and trying to focus on your faces.
Customers! It's been ages, just ages!
He'll doff a half-rotted fez and move behind a counter.
Welcome to Mehhept's Marvelous Maps! I'm Djar, the proprietor. I can't tell you what a relief it is to have customers again, especially ones who talk. Some of the people wandering about out there are clearly lost, yet they steadfastly refuse, just refuse, to buy a map! Maps are ever so helpful and I just can't understand it.
He'll point to another corner and you see a gleaming coppery axe stuck in a de-animated zombie.
I'm sorry to keep the door closed but some of the citizens have gone frightfully mad and are running into things and tearing up the merchandise. There's a shocking amount of dust and sand built up in here, and I felt it better to tidy up some more before reopening.
The skeleton looks somehow...apologetic.
Ah, I should say upfront that I'm frightfully short on spare change so I'll have to charge you the exact price of the map. It's very embarrassing, of course, and I hope you don't think too poorly of me. Now, what kind of map would you like? One of the city perhaps? The camel trails to Sothis? I have a fabulous map of the verdant, bounteous lands of Nex or one of the newer nations such as Taldor. And I even have a map of known ancient monsters' feeding grounds in the Inner Sea should you be setting out on an ocean voyage! So many maps for almost any occasion!
"Angel Eyes" Albus
Dead guy thinks he is still a shopkeeper and its a regular bussiness day. He sells maps and want us to buy one. Albus whispers to the group.
Maybe something from the city here, what do you have?
Thorrpe
Thorrpe remains outside the door ready to attack if needed
