I am fine with group initiative rolls by GM.
Unless Tobbs wants to go first, Dwalindor will stride into the room looking for snakes.
"Alright Albus, where are they?

DMummy |

As soon as Dwalindor walks into the room he sees two swarms of snakes to either side.
Initiative (Dwalindor): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Baddies win!
As soon as Dwalindor emerges the snakes strike at him.

"Hey Albus! I found yer dang snakes. ."

"Angel Eyes" Albus |

Albus moves into the room past Dwalindor and attacks the swarm.
Let me take some out of your hands.
Attk: 1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 8 - 1 = 19
Dmg: 1d10 + 7 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 3 + 1 = 15
AC 20 with shield spell.

Calin Tinderfoot |

Calin moves to H7 using his acrobatics skills to attempt to avoid their strikes.
acrobatics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
He then fires upon the snakes at G5.
attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
dex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Calin fumbles the shot and barely avoid dropping his bow.

DMummy |

After Dwalindor attacks and uses his AoO...
The snakes swarm over Albus and Tobbs.
Damage (Swarm): 1d6 ⇒ 1 Make 2 DC 15 Fortitude Saves
Damage (Swarm): 1d6 ⇒ 1 Make 2 DC 15 Fortitude Saves
Remember Swarms don't actually make an attack roll, they just do damage. Also, Tobbs and Albus get AoO in response to the attacks of the swarm.

Ok, what's the bad news with the snake venom? It turns me pink or something, right? Also, is it possible to cleave into a snake swarm?

![]() |

nauseated? Well that just makes me sick...so green instead of pink!

If you are back to Dwalindor, he will move and attack...please use prior rolls if I am holding things up.

The swarms are still moving and although the one Albus has been smashing is down quite a few snakes, the other one moves well.
They attack Albus and Dwalindor again.
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2 Dwalindor, two more Fortitude Saves!
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6 Albus, two more Fortitude Saves!
Dwalindor, you can move now!

perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22 +2 vs stonework
Dwalindor rests for a half a minute.
"Sheesh....I...I did not need them....snakes"

DMummy |

Dwalindor, you notice the wreckage of quartz, brass and steel underneath the rubble - the ceiling collapsed on the elegaic compass.
It's a relatively young fall - only twenty years old. Considering the age of the tunnel that's pretty remarkable for human stonework.

![]() |

"Fancy stonework here...not sure worth anything now" he will point out to Albus and Calin.

![]() |

"I have a rope, her you go, Cal. Dwalindor will dig out the rope from his pack.

DMummy |

Jumping ahead.
As you head up into the Necropolis, you feel the deathly quiet of the dead city disturbed by occasional groans of the undead.
You have a real problem however - you're near the wall towards the docks, and now you have to traverse the entire Necropolis to get towards the various areas you want to reach.
You have three directions to head from the small square you've emerged from - in the collapsed ruins of a fountain; northwest, northeast, southeast.

![]() |

Sounds like we climb in here, with help from Calin.
Dwalindor points up to the path to the Necropolis.
"As far as the temple folks, they believe that the activities are the result of a group that has long plagued the Necropolis: the Amushet. They are a group of lamia who disavow the divinity of any gods, including Pharasma.
He said, no matter how you make it into the Necropolis, we can find them here on our map"
Dwalindor points to a section of the map as he was instructed, "From there he believed we will solve our problem by killing them as quick as we can.
Assuming we three are enough to take on a Lamia. I don't know much about them, other than rumors that they can be mean mothers."

![]() |

"See? Right here due east by south east - a circular building."
What were the Elegaic Compasses?
Or is that something Calin or someone else knows.
Maybe I (as a PC) just forgot.
Nevermind- I found it. :)
We call these items elegaic compasses. They were placed so that the Voices of the Spire and the Grand Mausoleum could put a stop to any undue necromantic influences. The last time they were used was thirty years ago. My father and our family's companion, Ajin Ra Baqa, whom you've met, battled a lich in the Necropolis who was trying to...well do the same thing that happened three days ago. With your help we've been sweeping Wati and there doesn't seem to be anyone we can locate in the Living City who caused this.

"Angel Eyes" Albus |

"Solve our problem by killing them as quickly as we can." Albus nods smiling. That's my kind of plan.
Are the Dark Folk our allies?
Whick knowledge should Albus rolls to learn more about the Lamias?

![]() |

Kn:nature: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
"I got nothin , Albus . "

DMummy |

The Amushet are a legend - especially for young men. The lamias are rumored to charm young man they take a fancy too and then lure them back to their lair where they serve as slaves - or meals, the rumors aren't too specific.
What is widely known is that you should avoid the evil Amushet at all costs.

![]() |

"Well, whatever. Let's find these Lamias. We either kill em or they eat our brains. "
Dwalindor will start heading in the direction of the lamia star on the map.

"You there! Woman. What are you doing here? ."
