Dwalindor nods at Albus's comment.
"Yes, lets look around and see if there is somethin' other to help with this here gate."
Dwalindor, puts the vial back for now, picks up his hammer and heads off to the left path.

Rameth the Delver |

perhaps we can reinforce the gate at least. Rameth joins him in search of a way to repair te gate

The western side of the estate forms an L-shaped yard mostly given to sand, sun-dried earth, and the ancient husks of dead trees. Stone benches line the wall of the yard, and a large tiled pool sits in the southwest corner, dried and patially filled with sand.
A short flight of steps leads between a pair of pillars to a set of stone doors in the west of th house. At the north end of the yard stands a squaat stone building with columns at every corner.
As Dwalindor enters the sandy yard, a storm of sand begins to build in the center of the yard and he sees a giant insect raise itself from the earth.

I'm away from my maps but I'll get one up in a few hours. Based on the descriptions however Dwalindor is just inside the area to the left and the rest of you are in the courtyard around the front gate.

Rameth the Delver |

How far away is the bug

Rameth the Delver |

Rameth charges across the sand, instantly flinging the wood off his sword cane as he goes and he levels a strong two handed chop at the bug, trying to behead the thing before it can get started on killing his companions.

Azubah |

The appearance of the centipede shocks Azubah for a moment and he nearly trips while backing up. Once he gathers his wits however, he curses the thing in Aroden's name.
Cast Ill-omen. No save, lasts 2 rounds.
Google Chrome won't let me access the map, so no movement for Azubah/

DMummy |

The centipede's eyes have trouble focusing after being attacked by the two fleshy bipeds. It's hunger is exaggerated by their attacks biting into it's carapace and it rears its head and tries to bite down on Dwalindor, the more dangerous of the two creatures attacking it.
Attack (Bite): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Attack (Bite, 2nd Roll Per Ill Omen): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
The desperate bite misses Dwalindor's small form, although he can feel the force of the mandibles clicking together near him.

Rameth the Delver |

Well that was exciting. Shall we get back to the fixing of the gate?

Azubah |

"Let's check the hole that the bug came from. Perhaps there are valuable there from others it might have waylaid. Or it might lead to tunnels that would allow us to bypass the upper floor, which is undoubtedly trapped."

![]() |

"Sounds good as anything."
Dwalindor pokes around in the bug tunnel to see if it leads anywhere.

DMummy |

There isn't anything present at the bottom of the pool aside from a few yellowed bones amidst the sand it had piled about itself while it was resting.
Knowledge (Dungeoneering) would give you an idea about the behavior of the Centipede if you wanted to guess at where it might hide treasure, if it had any.

"Sounds good . Ain't nuthin' down here."
Dwalindor will join Albus by the shed.

Rameth the Delver |

Rameth nods and follows

Azubah |

Azubah falls in behind the others.

![]() |

"All clear?. "
If no traps or locks, Dwalindor will open the door to the shed.

The rectangular stone building sits in the northwest corner of the estate. At each corner stand columns carved to resemble men and women with their arms crossed over their chests. A set of stone doors stands in the southern face of the building, carved with bas-relief faces of two men. Hieroglyphs are carved into the doors just beneath the faces.
Ancient Osiriani
This is the crypt of the House of Pentheru, may defilers be cursed by the gods until their day of judgement."
The doors that Dwalindor pushes open are stone, and though heavy they open easily.
A wide stairway descends 15 feet into the next room. A stone altar sits upon a raised stone platform in the center of this square room.
Caryatid columns carved in the likenesses of male and female figures with their arms crossed over their chests and khopeshes or ankhs in their hands stand at each corner of the platform. Empty torch holders are built in all four of the room’s corners. Two stairways exit the room—one climbs to the south where you've just descended, while the other descends from this chamber to the north.

Dwalindor scoff at the warning as well.
"Hah, stuff like that is why I never liked learning to read. Just makes me mad."

Rameth the Delver |

bah I didn't have any posts. Thats ok, Rameth was taking a hit from his flask.

Sir Howard |

Sir Howard scratches his head, or the ectoplasmic construct that is where his head would be, and looks pensive.
I don't think so. Let me try.
He bends over and tries to pick up a rock and fails. Then he tries to pick up a handful of sand and is unable to do so.
Finally he holds up a grain of sand in triumph.
I say, this is marvelous! Take that you smelly, necromantic beast!
Howard flings the grain at the beast approaching to no obvious effect.
That let him have what for, I'll tell you.

Azubah |

I am starting to really like Sir Howard.
