Yep, min roll is 1/2 the dice. So 6 in the barbarian's case.

no problem, it sounds like there are some fun skill shenanigans and some SA shenanigans. Mainly there is weapons finesse for free.

I got someone to send me the rundown dm. The big changes, I am told, are

As far as rogues go, here are the key differences:

Finesse at 1
Agility on a specific type of weapon at 3
Debilitating Injury at 4 (basically you get to debuff anyone you sneak attack)
Skill Specialization at 5 (pick a skill and you get special things you can do at 5, 10, 15, and 20 ranks)

The other thing is sneak is only negated by TOTAL concealment, not just ANY concealment.

Indeed, I actually did grab the PDF - this does seem like a big upgrade for the rogue in a lot of ways - the injury/skill "upgrades" you unlock are nice.

The staggered advancement rules I like - especially for PbP, where levels can be a long time in coming.

I have to take more time to unpack it but I don't see any problem with a class conversion to the "unchained" rogue.

This Amushet vs Pharasma thing is sounding like a political power grab by both sides in the gray areas. However, Dwalindor is not a finesse politician. He deals in absolutes...and whomever pays the most gold and has he best interest of Wati in mind. :-)

I have a question for you guys. I am making a 6th lvl character. The roleplay is a hired thug, a lot like Albus but less nice. His role in the party will be melee bruiser/deal with traps. Which build will be the most effective?

-3lvls of new rogue + 3 lvls of two weapon archetype fighter and fighter the rest of the levels up.

Or

-6lvls of slayer and stay in the class for the rest of his progression.

Depends on what you want the character to do and the point buy ^.^

If you want to switch-hit I'd go slayer - also, I highly recommend the shield-and-kukri TWF Brawler fighter archetype for hilarity (the key is that the shield is your primary weapon!).

adjusted, very few changes, other than having debilitating injury and rogue edge:stealth so I am better at sniping now. Changed out weapon finesse for weapon focus with my crossbow, and i can add sex to damage with my shortsword now

Terribly I lost my internet connection last night due to a storm and my sacrifice at dawn to the sky gods of the internet didn't seem to have restored access. Perhaps Cheetos and Mountain Dew wasn't the best sacrifice but stealing someone's pet for a more fitting sacrifice just seems gauche.
