The old man Anamurumon sneers, reacting and moving with a speed that belies his age. He takes cover behind the throne and points towards your end of the room. "The Five Storms will consume you. Nothing can stop us!"

With a thunderous roar of raging wind, a powerful cyclone appears before you and then flies forward and crashes into your ranks.

Heng rolls aside as the winds hit ending in dragon stance and downing a potion of displacement behind the shelter of a column.


Heng dives out of the cyclone and takes quick shelter while quaffing his potion.

U'izado laughs grimly and casts a spell, immediately turning invisible. (I will leave her icon in sight for Parity)

Malnival casts haste, including Heng in its area of effect, then rushes forward. The elf zips around the cyclone and closes on Renshii Meida in a blur.

Ameiko screams as she is torn from the floor and pulled up into the powerful cyclone.

Harlan is pulled into the cyclone with Ameiko. He tries to dispel it, but cannot focus enough counter-energy.

The Jade Regent steps to the base of the throne, hefting his great blade over his head. He laughs at Ameiko's plight, "Good, I will keep her prisoner once the rest of you are bleeding out. She is truly the last royal scion? Perhaps I will make her my wife and take the Jade Throne with her!" The offhand threat draws dark looks from both Meida and Anamurumon.

"You cannot hide from me, half-beast," the Regent taunts, curling a finger and challenging Heng. He makes an elegant flourish with his no-dachi and finishes, pointing the blade and projecting a scintillating plane of force across the throne room.

Kiyomi takes up her inspiring song and then hits Anamurumon with a focused sonic attack.

The elder glares at Kiyomi, casting his own spell in quick retaliation. He points at her and speaks the magic words. With a bright flash and crack of thunder, a searing bolt of lighting strikes Kiyomi and then richocets around the room, hitting each of you in turn, before it grounds at Malnival.

Heng evades the lightning and charges Anamurumon, slamming the old man in the chest. He recovers from the hard hit quickly. Arcs of electricity flash across his eyes as he snarls at Heng. "Impudent mongrel! I will consume your crispy hide while you still live."

You hear U'izado casting a spell. A moment later, Heng feels the icy chill as a block of ice starts to form around him.

Malnival flies up and over Meida's circular blade barrier, coming down and slashing his scimitar. The Jade Regent snaps his head towards them as he hears her cry of pain.

Harlan's channel can reach himself and Ameiko, maybe Kiyomi. Parity, Heng and Malnival are too distant.

Note, whith whirlwind, you can't save to get free after you fail the original saves. You're basically stuck in the cyclone until the effect ends (dispelled or duration expires). It doesn't say you're helpless though, so you can cast spells with a successful Concentration check.

Harlan attempts to dispel the whirlwind again but still cannot break the spell.

"Get away from her!" the Jade Regent snarls. He turns away from Heng and moves to attack Malnival, slashing his weapon through the blade barrier to reach him.

Looks like its safe to start posting again. Heng, you picked a good week to be out of town!

Kiyomi weaves summoning magic into her song and a swarm of shrieking, grabbing monkeys appears and spills over Anamurumon. The man roars in fury and surprise as the mischievous monkeys tear his staff from his hands and start fighting over it.

Fort save: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (16) + 18 = 34

"That. Is. ENOUGH!" Anamurumon shouts, his voice reverberating throughout the palace. The old man's features distort and stretch. His skin mottles into a shade of blue, long fangs extend from his mouth, and a third eye opens in his forehead, sparking with electricity. He grows until he stands as tall as a cloud giant, twenty feet high: a wind yai! The monkey swarm cavorts around his knees and feet, but seems to have little effect on his true, massive form.

"If my foolish spawn cannot muster the focus to destroy you, I will do so myself." The oni lord snatches his staff -- now a huge three-part sansetsukon -- from the monkey swarm.

Hmmm... I forgot about the entangled thing. Heng was displaced by the growing giant oni, so he's no longer in the iced area.

Parity and Kiyomi intrinsically sense from their weapons that Anamurumon is particularly vulnerable to their attacks -- (effectively a bane weapon against him).

Heng focuses his holy fury in a blurring fistful flurry, hitting the oni leader several times. Anamurumon roars, mixing pain with his rising fury.

You might be down, but my math shows you at -3. You might be including the crit and added total damage together. The 2d and 3d attacks both missed.

Kiyomi has reviving finale also. Depending on her reaction, you might still be up.

Ah, I didn't see that you rolled the initial damage into the crit. I was adding them together again. I thought that was really high even for a crit, but it was a CRIT!.
So I see: attk 1= hit 40 total, attk 2= crit 60 total, attk 3= miss, attk 4= miss; plus the lightning damage. ref save: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33 ok no lightning damage if save allowed. So Heng is at (92-100)= -8 hp
