You follow Parity towards the south. Ameiko's light reveals more of the large cavern, including rocky beaches to the left and right, and a couple more islets.

As you near the skulls-adorned island, the fiends swim up from below to attack. As they near the surface, you get a closer look. They are humanoid in form, with massive lobster pincers at the end of their arms, and similar segmented armor plates across their bodies. Their heads are hideous and octopus-like with masses of writhing tentacles about their beaked jaws.

These are piscodaemons, cruel aquatic fiends from Abaddon, who roam the lower planes sowing misery and blight, delighting in drawn-out deaths, poisoning victims, and dismembering their prey slowly.

Heng dives into the mists to strike at one of the eastern foes.

Let's roll!

Malnival slashes, doing some minor damage to the fiend. He struggles but barely manages to keep his stomach in the nauseating cloud.

Malnival Fort save vs stinking cloud (DC 16): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

Parity withstands the toxic fumes, then conjures a host of mirror images, but cannot land a solid hit against his opponent.

@ Parity: bleed doesn't stack, so just take the largest iterative each round until you're healed. And their poison is injury, so if you don't take damage, you don't get poisoned (as far as I understand it).

Heng lays in on one of his attackers, slamming the fiend with one crushing punch, leaving it shaken from the impact. His other swings fail to connect with any real force.

Kiyomi continues her inspiring song, firing her bow at one target. The arrow hits cleanly, but appears to do no harm.

Ameiko, still retching from the stinking gasses, moves back out of the clouds to clearer air.

Harlan moves up and away a few feet before blasting the fiends with holy power. Most of them ignore the smite as their natural resistances repel the magic, but three are burned by the holy energy, and one appears blinded.

The beach landing opens up into a large cave, with hanging stalactites and a sand-strewn floor. It gently slopes up to the east, becoming steeper until reaching the far wall in a narrow wedge. It is otherwise empty and uninhabited.

"If we can trust what she says, Empress Maemi indicated that Shojinawa Ito has Higashiyama's body. She also said his lair was directly below hers, in the caves to the north." She points that way, towards the noisy waterfall.

As far as health and resources go, you guys will have to check the math. Several people took hits/bleeding during the fight.
