Definitely - Hathin will be looking at rounding out his skillset as well. And given his background should probably look at at least learning Sylvan :)
1st level is always a difficult fit with so many choices and so few skill points.
Yeah, I plan on getting some more class knowledge skills next level, but others seemed more urgent or fit Tudan's background better.
FWIW, it turns out I'll be doing overtime today, so I won't get another chance to post for some hours.

Okay! I've made a preliminary list of skills to learn next level, so that I can take advantage of opportunities to roleplay learning them as I go along, if I spot them. From my class skills, I'm thinking Diplomacy (for a respectable +9) from practice, Knowledge (Planes) which I might just develop as an in-born thing, Knowledge (Religion) which I could learn some from talking to you all, and Sense Motive also from practice. Then maybe Perception due to having been volunteered for 2nd watch. ;) Not even going to start doing this for my next feat until 2nd level. Comments or suggestions?
ETA: wait a second... +1 Int adds +1 skill point, as does my favored class, so I should have six per level. I need to choose another one! I'll have to think on this.

Tudan Davken |

Well duh, Sense Motive! I'd been thinking earlier about how Tudan's work in his parents' taverns had exposed him to a lot of deceit -- men cheating on their wives, cheating at cards, cheating their employers and then bragging about it over drinks, etc. -- so yeah. Sense Motive.

Regarding skill and language gaps: Lysa still needs to pick up too more languages, I've just been slow trying to figure out what else to pick.
These are just ideas, not suggestions. The player's guide says for bards (and by extension rogues) to focus on knowledge skills about "the wilderness, fey, and the First World," and none of us know Aklo yet: the language of "derros, inhuman or otherworldly monsters, evil fey." Also, I can't think of any particularly good reason why you'd know (or need to know) Gnome, but it's the only one on the list of what no one in the party knows yet that I associate with Enchantment.

One thought I've just had and will be using on the PbP's I am DM'ing - can we confirm the standard marching order and watch order?
Hathin will stick to the middle for marching order.
For watches I'd suggest a three-way split:
1st - Geoffrey (high perception - low light vision) + ?
2nd - Tudan (darkvision) + ?
3rd - Hathin (high perception - low light vision) + ?
Then if DM Keddah is amenable, we can get it posted onto the Campaign Information page for ready reference.

Character sheet done! Okay to add the Description at the end like that? Any changes you'd suggest? I wasn't sure what to do with my concentration, aid another, and energy resistances, so I just left them in the trait and race sections.
Also, what Hathin said. Ready to hit the road.

Hathin has been mostly updated as per Keddah request, however I'd like to keep one portion of my original profile.
I keep a 'Current Notes:' at the top of my list which covers all temporary conditions and spells, etc, as per below.
0th Level Spells: Create Water; Know Direction; Light
1st Level Spells: Entangle [ ]; Shilleagh [ ] - Domain: Aspect of the Falcon [ ]
I'd like to keep this if possible as it shows up right at the top and makes it easy for you and me both to track down exactly what is going on. Is that ok?

To be clear, I'm glad that everyone responded to Tudan's icebreaker. If he didn't reply to you, it's because he didn't know what to say as a character, though he'll remember; much appreciation as a player! I'm really enjoying this game, but it could be most of a day before I get 'net access again. Just so you know why it's taking me awhile to reply (if that happens).

Edmond Odravam wrote:+1Thanks! And I've really enjoyed your "show, don't tell" approach. Someday we may learn IC what happened, but not today, and that makes it more real.
I'm glad you're liking it, Edmond really isn't that gruff of a character but he should come off as such, and sometimes it is hard to portray introversion and still be an interesting character to roleplay without revealing all of his thoughts with monologue or some other device, so regardless, i appreciate you appreciating it, haha

Funny thing, I almost got put off of PbP entirely because my first recruitment thread was the RP tavern kind, and I was overwhelmed by the posting rate. But then I watched the game, and it wasn't that fast at all. (I'm watching quite a few using Firefox tab groups, including some Kingmaker; but I'm confident in my ability to separate player knowledge from character knowledge.) So, eventually I tried again, and I'm starting to get the impression that I'm actually on the higher end of posting frequency. ;)
On the bandit issue: I'm plagiarizing myself, stealing a philosophy that a paladin of mine once developed. But of course, Tudan is a NG oracle of life, not a LG paladin, and so rather more flexible. He'll go along with whatever the group decides; he's just making the case for how he sees it.

Forgot to mention that that my posting will be spotty until next Tuesday or Wednesday, due to my sister getting remarried this coming weekend on the opposite coast. Aside from the travel and generally being busy, I'll also try to avoid posting while inebriated, since that rarely goes well. ;)

Sorry everybody, they had trouble with their internet connection at the library I spend most of my days and when I got home I had a sick kid and a tired missus to take care of. I hope this week I can make up for the time I was out of the grid. Sorry again.
No worries friend, glad to still have you on board, and I understand real life takes priority!

Lysa briefly kneels down to set Kiki on the ground so she can get some exercise. She stands back up, listening to the woman's reply. I wonder if there will be any arguments on what to do with these bandits she speaks of?
I have no idea what you're talking about. My conversational gambit successfully established that our moral reasoning is identical, and so we will be in perfect accord without needing to speak a word. /pokerface (or /fantasyland)

When the Paladin is a way the PCs will play :D

Brennor speaks with the enthusiasm of man who just had an epiphany, he gestures around the palisades and continues on.
"How are these defenses? Are they in need of repair?"

Brennor sees that we are in a forest
And btw lol
No really, I actually chuckled, so thank you.
