Male Human Paladin

I'm getting the same error with the scroll as well, even when I'm signed into Google

Damn, seems my GoogleDocs knowledge gets the best of me once more. Tell me if you can see it here

Edmond, I couldn't find your email address so that may be why you can't see the scroll.

Definitely - Hathin will be looking at rounding out his skillset as well. And given his background should probably look at at least learning Sylvan :)

1st level is always a difficult fit with so many choices and so few skill points.

Yeah, I plan on getting some more class knowledge skills next level, but others seemed more urgent or fit Tudan's background better.

FWIW, it turns out I'll be doing overtime today, so I won't get another chance to post for some hours.

Male Human Dedicated Hero 2 (HP 12/12) (AC 14/14/10) (Fort +3, Ref +2, Will +5) (Init +2)

I can see this version of the charter :-)

WS 40, BS 20, S 35, T 35, Ag 35, Int 30, Per 30, WP 40, Fel 43, Wounds 14/14, FP 1/1

The new version of the charter shows up fine for me too.

Male Aasimar (Raised by Halflings) Barbarian 1 / Lame Oracle of Life 6

Okay! I've made a preliminary list of skills to learn next level, so that I can take advantage of opportunities to roleplay learning them as I go along, if I spot them. From my class skills, I'm thinking Diplomacy (for a respectable +9) from practice, Knowledge (Planes) which I might just develop as an in-born thing, Knowledge (Religion) which I could learn some from talking to you all, and Sense Motive also from practice. Then maybe Perception due to having been volunteered for 2nd watch. ;) Not even going to start doing this for my next feat until 2nd level. Comments or suggestions?

ETA: wait a second... +1 Int adds +1 skill point, as does my favored class, so I should have six per level. I need to choose another one! I'll have to think on this.

Male Aasimar (Raised by Halflings) Barbarian 1 / Lame Oracle of Life 6

Well duh, Sense Motive! I'd been thinking earlier about how Tudan's work in his parents' taverns had exposed him to a lot of deceit -- men cheating on their wives, cheating at cards, cheating their employers and then bragging about it over drinks, etc. -- so yeah. Sense Motive.

Regarding skill and language gaps: Lysa still needs to pick up too more languages, I've just been slow trying to figure out what else to pick.

These are just ideas, not suggestions. The player's guide says for bards (and by extension rogues) to focus on knowledge skills about "the wilderness, fey, and the First World," and none of us know Aklo yet: the language of "derros, inhuman or otherworldly monsters, evil fey." Also, I can't think of any particularly good reason why you'd know (or need to know) Gnome, but it's the only one on the list of what no one in the party knows yet that I associate with Enchantment.

One thought I've just had and will be using on the PbP's I am DM'ing - can we confirm the standard marching order and watch order?

Hathin will stick to the middle for marching order.

For watches I'd suggest a three-way split:
1st - Geoffrey (high perception - low light vision) + ?
2nd - Tudan (darkvision) + ?
3rd - Hathin (high perception - low light vision) + ?

Then if DM Keddah is amenable, we can get it posted onto the Campaign Information page for ready reference.

I'll gladly post it in the Campaign Info page as soon as you all agree upon it.

Make sure all of you have your character sheets ready and I would recommend making sure you have enought rations too, or the travel will take longer if you're foraging along the way. That said, when you're ready to leave Restov just tell me over here and I'll get to it in the IC thread

Female Aasimar Cleric / 1

Nearly forgot to get rations. I'll add that to my sheet.

WS 40, BS 20, S 35, T 35, Ag 35, Int 30, Per 30, WP 40, Fel 43, Wounds 14/14, FP 1/1

Hathin will fill in the 2gp he has left on rations later today.

I'm ready to go, let's get walking and we can RP deeper introductions upon the journey.

Character sheet done! Okay to add the Description at the end like that? Any changes you'd suggest? I wasn't sure what to do with my concentration, aid another, and energy resistances, so I just left them in the trait and race sections.

Also, what Hathin said. Ready to hit the road.

Male Aasimar (Raised by Halflings) Barbarian 1 / Lame Oracle of Life 6

Correction: I added my energy resistances and Concentration to my Defense section, but I wasn't sure what to do with my Aid Another.

WS 40, BS 20, S 35, T 35, Ag 35, Int 30, Per 30, WP 40, Fel 43, Wounds 14/14, FP 1/1

Hathin has been mostly updated as per Keddah request, however I'd like to keep one portion of my original profile.

I keep a 'Current Notes:' at the top of my list which covers all temporary conditions and spells, etc, as per below.

Current Notes:
HP = 9/9, Hawkeye: 6/6
0th Level Spells: Create Water; Know Direction; Light
1st Level Spells: Entangle [ ]; Shilleagh [ ] - Domain: Aspect of the Falcon [ ]

I'd like to keep this if possible as it shows up right at the top and makes it easy for you and me both to track down exactly what is going on. Is that ok?

There's no problem with you having more than what I asked for, the thing is that by having all character sheets follow the same format it's much easier for me to look them up in a minute.

Male Aasimar (Raised by Halflings) Barbarian 1 / Lame Oracle of Life 6

Then I'll put my variables in the same place as Hathin's. I think I'm done tweaking it for now.

Male Human Paladin

Brennor is ready to headout whenever the group is!

Male Human Dedicated Hero 2 (HP 12/12) (AC 14/14/10) (Fort +3, Ref +2, Will +5) (Init +2)

Just in case it was not clear, Geoffrey is ready to go, too :-)

Female Aasimar Cleric / 1

I'll work on that sheet later today and write down my trail rations.

Male Aasimar (Raised by Halflings) Barbarian 1 / Lame Oracle of Life 6

While I was browsing character sheets, I noticed that for hitpoints, some used max +1 (before Con bonus) and some used just max (plus Con bonus). Which do you prefer, DM_Keddah?

I'm guessing those that have the +1 chose that as their Favoured Class choice. But you raise a good point, could everybody put their Favoured Class choices into the "other" spoiler?

Male Aasimar (Raised by Halflings) Barbarian 1 / Lame Oracle of Life 6

*facepalm* I was afraid it was going to be something obvious that I was just overlooking somehow, oh well. Still getting used to 3.x-based rules.

Male Aasimar (Raised by Halflings) Barbarian 1 / Lame Oracle of Life 6

To be clear, I'm glad that everyone responded to Tudan's icebreaker. If he didn't reply to you, it's because he didn't know what to say as a character, though he'll remember; much appreciation as a player! I'm really enjoying this game, but it could be most of a day before I get 'net access again. Just so you know why it's taking me awhile to reply (if that happens).

Thanks! And I've really enjoyed your "show, don't tell" approach. Someday we may learn IC what happened, but not today, and that makes it more real.

I'm glad you're liking it, Edmond really isn't that gruff of a character but he should come off as such, and sometimes it is hard to portray introversion and still be an interesting character to roleplay without revealing all of his thoughts with monologue or some other device, so regardless, i appreciate you appreciating it, haha

WS 40, BS 20, S 35, T 35, Ag 35, Int 30, Per 30, WP 40, Fel 43, Wounds 14/14, FP 1/1

Weekends are always slower, people will trickle through when they get a chance to post :)

Male Aasimar (Raised by Halflings) Barbarian 1 / Lame Oracle of Life 6

Funny thing, I almost got put off of PbP entirely because my first recruitment thread was the RP tavern kind, and I was overwhelmed by the posting rate. But then I watched the game, and it wasn't that fast at all. (I'm watching quite a few using Firefox tab groups, including some Kingmaker; but I'm confident in my ability to separate player knowledge from character knowledge.) So, eventually I tried again, and I'm starting to get the impression that I'm actually on the higher end of posting frequency. ;)

On the bandit issue: I'm plagiarizing myself, stealing a philosophy that a paladin of mine once developed. But of course, Tudan is a NG oracle of life, not a LG paladin, and so rather more flexible. He'll go along with whatever the group decides; he's just making the case for how he sees it.

Male Aasimar (Raised by Halflings) Barbarian 1 / Lame Oracle of Life 6

Ha! Another funny thing: most of us have at least 4 more Dex than Str. I'm actually the exception, at having only 2 higher Dex. What are the odds?

Male Aasimar (Raised by Halflings) Barbarian 1 / Lame Oracle of Life 6

Forgot to mention that that my posting will be spotty until next Tuesday or Wednesday, due to my sister getting remarried this coming weekend on the opposite coast. Aside from the travel and generally being busy, I'll also try to avoid posting while inebriated, since that rarely goes well. ;)

Female Aasimar Cleric / 1

Try to behave yourself with the bridesmaids. ;)

Enjoy the travel and inebriation friend!

and bridesmaids, as the case may be.

Have fun Tudan!
By the way, when you decide you are ready to go into Oleg's just tell me. I'm enjoying your IC play so I won't rush you.

Watches a spider scuttle over the cobwebs in the corner.

Keddah - everything ok?

Male Aasimar (Raised by Halflings) Barbarian 1 / Lame Oracle of Life 6

As it happened, I spent a couple of nights out where I had no internet connectivity. I have mixed feelings about coming back to nothing -- at least I didn't miss anything, but let's get going! :)

Its been since last wednesday since Keddah has posted, I certainly hope he's still around

Sorry everybody, they had trouble with their internet connection at the library I spend most of my days and when I got home I had a sick kid and a tired missus to take care of. I hope this week I can make up for the time I was out of the grid. Sorry again.

No really, I actually chuckled, so thank you.

Male Aasimar (Raised by Halflings) Barbarian 1 / Lame Oracle of Life 6

Time to start naming positions? Unless someone suggests otherwise, I'll tend toward the middle building, right behind the door (roughly 13h, 11v).

Once you're ready tell me where you'll place yourselves.

Up - Down - Numbers
Left - Right - Letters

Female Aasimar Cleric / 1

Do we start counting the squares with the first full square or do we count the half squares along the edges? I think I'll be around P14 so I can be seen, maybe just sitting down at one of those tables.
