Can a character use melee around a corner? The rules are not very clear on this, but I have been going by the picture as shown Page 194, where it hints that Merisiel can not attack the ogre.
Here is the issue, the words actually says he has “melee cover”, but what does “Melee Cover” mean? I can not find where it is defined, does it mean Partial cover, total cover or Improved cover? I always decided that the Circle with the line through it in the Picture to mean that it has Total cover. Though I may have missed it.
Thoughts?
Please if you are going to bring ideas to this thread use supportable arguments. I will ignore any arguments the are not supportable by the rules. Thanks!

Yes, you can attack around a corner. Doing so provides you target with cover (not partial, not improved, not total--just cover) +4 bonus to AC.
You can have cover from ranged and/or melee attacks, hence the use of the term melee cover.
If you are having trouble read the actual description of cover on page 195.
When making a melee attack against an adjacent target, your target has cover if any line from any corner of your square to the target’s square goes through a wall[.]
I think the diagram is a little misleading, it just shows that one of the imaginary lines between corners goes through a wall. This provides cover but not total cover as you can still draw an imaginary line from your square to the target square. If there isn't total cover you can still attack.
