Oswin Durnhelm |
Oswin tires his voice again.
"Well done, Bom! Let's finish this fiend!"
Given the sudden change in the tactical situation, Oswin decides it is better to seek the fiend's early destruction than to cast a spell this time.
"In the name of the Inheritor, begone!"
No mechanical benefit to this, just the fervent words of a faithful priest.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Kargen Hapspring |
Kargen steps towards the wall to get a clearer sight of the monster. He shouts out, "You shall pay for your deeds, Devourer! Anumet's death shall be avenged!" He draws an arrow and fires it in a smooth, practiced motion.
Swift Action: Activate Justice Judgement - +1 to attack rolls.
Attack (Soft cover, DF, Justice, PBS): 1d20 + 5 - 4 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 5 - 4 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 20
Damage (DF, PBS): 1d8 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 1 + 1 = 11
Shel Whispertongue PFS |
Shel moves to try and establish a flanking position, knowing the time was right to strike now.
Attack 1d20 + 6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 4 + 2 = 14
Damage 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 plus
1d6 ⇒ 4 sneak attack
DM_Goat |
With the enemy knocked off its feet and all the Pathfinders in the fight, the end is swift but messy for the Devourer of Reason as blades rise and fall and arrows pierce his form. In the end, even as Shel's Kukri puts an end to his existence, his head continues to laugh, tongue twining around Oswin's ankle before he kicks it away.
Your victory leaves you the only ones in possession of Beldrin's vault.
The Devourer has on his person a scroll, a wand, a masterwork dagger and a disguise kit, as well as a scroll case, the design of which matches the portal in the Blackros Museum. There is no obvious way to open the case, however, and it seems impervious to harm, and emits no magical aura. The rest of the vault contains non-magical documents that will no doubt be of great interest to the society should they be transported safely back.
Bom Skjold |
Bom seems pleased, "By the gods, Pathfinders! That is how you do it! Knock'em down and keep'em down." Bom grins broadly at the group, happy to have avoided any serious casualties and purposefully not mentioning the wolf.
Sigrun Wolfrunner |
Sigrun wastes no time after the ghoul's head is chopped off, dropping her axe on the ground with a clutter and hurriedly moving over to her companion. She kneels down beside him, soothingly speaking in a low voice to Rook and rubbing him down in an attempt to get movement back into his limbs. It's clear from the look on her face that she's deathly worried... when the paralysis wears off, she breathes a massive sigh of relief.
1. Use the disguise kit to dress up (in case anyone remembers me) and go back to the library
2. Become a member of the library so that I can borrow a book
3. Find a book roughly the same size as the Sczarni's book
4. Outside of the library, take a knife to the book I borrowed to remove its cover, as well as the cover of the Sczarni's book
5. Use some glue to reaffix the cover of the borrowed book onto the Sczarni's book, and then return it to the library
Too crazy? ;) Or should I just be asking the others for help? Haha.
DM_Goat |
Rook is well again after about a minute, though he remains a little skittish.
Sigrun Wolfrunner |
Disguise: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 Includes the +2 from the disguise kit - if I can take 20 on this sort of thing (even without the disguise kit bonus) I will.
I'll ask a bookbinder to do it for me. Surely there's some of less reputable origin that wouldn't ask questions. ;) How much do you think that'll cost?
Shel Whispertongue PFS |
"Geat job everyone. Knocking that thing down really let us take the fight to it!". The little halfling was clearly excited by their clear victory in the mission.
