Female Human Priestess of Iomedae 10

It appears to be a few feet, more a hole in the wall, less a "tunnel"

-Posted with Wayfinder

Male Teifling Bladebound Magus 13 (AC 29 / Hp 127/ Init +7 / Fort +13 / Ref +14 / Will +13)

Ok I found a little zoom bar on the map, not sure why I didn't notice it before.

Is that also a gate or something north of us on the map? Looks like a wooden door or something

Sam waits ready to act if something opens the gate

You can't see it terribly well ... looks more like a shadowed opening in the starlight and mist

Male Fetchling Slayer 7/ Red Mantis 5

Dalamus will use his Ventriloquism spell and cast his voice behind the gate...Loud enough for the apes to hear it. He will speak in Draconic

"hey guys, si siofme si ehtaha creol achthend svern tenpiswo...wait, svabol ui batobot keefum...is batobot...uh..ogggg!!!"

Draconic:
Hey guys, I think I found some food over here...Wait, what is that smell...is that...uh..OGGGG!!!

Will Save DC12

The chattering quiets down for a moment, before a deeper voice rumbles something out in the ape language and Dalamus hears the scrape of metal on stone, the sounds of something moving away from the gate and the fading sounds of the monkey screams. The area beyond the gate has gone silent.

DM Use:

Ch Will Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
O Will Save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

Male Fetchling Slayer 7/ Red Mantis 5

Dalamus will wait until it seems as they are gone, then he will signal for Nemoris to climb with a torch.

Once he is up there, they will enter the tunnel

Female Human Priestess of Iomedae 10

2 foot wide. Dalamus and Nemoris are both too big with armor. Without, you'll need an escape artist check

-Posted with Wayfinder

Male Teifling Bladebound Magus 13 (AC 29 / Hp 127/ Init +7 / Fort +13 / Ref +14 / Will +13)

Can we all hear the words or just Dalamus? If so, any language we know?

Female Human Priestess of Iomedae 10

I'll say just Dalamus at this point

-Posted with Wayfinder

Male Fetchling Slayer 7/ Red Mantis 5

Dalamus will take a look with a torch to see if he can see a lever for the gate.

I am assuming they are not speaking a language that I recognize.

Surprisingly, Dalamus finds it difficult to maneuver a burning torch up to the tunnel while hanging by his hands from the ledge. Eventually, he's able to get some light into the tunnel, but disturbingly the light doesn't penetrate any further into the darkness than he could see before.

Male Human Wizard (Conjuror) 10 / Loremaster 4

"I can reduce your stature so that you can manuever through," Nowzai suggests, "...but splitting off may not be wise at this point."

Male Stonechild Stonechild 4 / Fighter 5/ Cleric 1/ Stalwart defender 1 (HP 156 AC 29) (Fort 19 Reflex 10 Will 11) alignment LN

Dalamus can you see the chain for the gate. if you can break it or separate it from the gate i may be able to lift the gate in a enlarge form.
can i make a dungeoneering check to estimate the weight of the gate?

Female Human Priestess of Iomedae 10

I believe a knowledge engineering check would be more appropriate

-Posted with Wayfinder

Male Human Wizard (Conjuror) 10 / Loremaster 4

Knowledge (engineering): 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (2) + 16 = 18

"Hmmm..."

Nowzai:

The gate is 6 inches thick, 8 feet wide and 15 feet tall. You guess it weighs somewhere between 3 and 4 thousand pounds.

Male Human Wizard (Conjuror) 10 / Loremaster 4

"... it may be a bit much without supernatural strength."

Male Fetchling Slayer 7/ Red Mantis 5

Dalamus will climb back down.

"I might be able to get around in there if I remove my armor. I am not excited about the idea because those ape things are up there, but it might be our only option."

Male Human Wizard (Conjuror) 10 / Loremaster 4

"I can teleport us all through, but then the door will still be shut behind us. Perhaps there is an opening mechanism on the other side."

Male Fetchling Slayer 7/ Red Mantis 5

"That is a great idea Nowzai, much better than our other options. If need be we can fight through whatever is over there, but we can do that as a unit and not divided."

Male Teifling Bladebound Magus 13 (AC 29 / Hp 127/ Init +7 / Fort +13 / Ref +14 / Will +13)

"I thought I saw another door to the north before we came to this door, it may make sense to go look at that one first, see if it's easier to get through."

Teleport through this door OR scout the northern entrance (requires getting over the cliff in the fissure

I say we teleport

-Posted with Wayfinder

Male Human R:1/F:8/DSniper:2 - || 115 hp || AC: 28 (T:18 FF:23) F13 / R11 / W6

Teleport sounds good to me. Is it loud and does it take time, or will we all be there quickly if needed?

It may not be bad to scout the northern entrance too, my vote would be to check that first and then teleport if it proves fruitless.

Male Stonechild Stonechild 4 / Fighter 5/ Cleric 1/ Stalwart defender 1 (HP 156 AC 29) (Fort 19 Reflex 10 Will 11) alignment LN

teleport i will be the first to walk through

Male Human Wizard (Conjuror) 10 / Loremaster 4

"It will take but a moment. Hold on to me." When everyone is gathered around, Nowzai teleports the group ten feet beyond the door.

dimensional steps x 7 x 10 = 70 ft.

The Balcony

Nowzai grabs arms with everyone and steps literally through the door into darkness. The bubbling and whistling noise grows distant as you move inside. A massive creaking groan can be heard from overhead, followed by the sound of stone scraping on stone. Those without darkvision (not lowlight) can see nothing and hear a deep chortle echoing through the room.

Darkvision Only:

A wide balcony looms over the north face of this passageway. An enormous winch system on the balcony above connects to a pair of chains and pulleys attached to the portcullis. A giant-sized stool sits behind a 3-foot-tall wooden platform that runs along the balcony. Several throwing axes are piled haphazardly near the balcony's edge.

Standing up on the balcony overhead to the north is a massive white-furred four-armed gorilla wielding a shield and three throwing axes, it chuckles deeply, sounding very human and grins a mouth full of huge teeth as he peers down at you. It pulls back two of its arms and throws the axes they're holding.

Those with Darkvision may act in the surprise round. Remember one action only

You hear the sound of something being thrown at you, whipping through the air.

I will resolve the Surprise Round first, but those without darkvision can post their Round 1 actions or wait, as desired

Map and image updated, but right now, please only look at the Roll 20 site if you have darkvision. And yes, I'm aware you have a couple torches and a light spell ... remember who is carrying those torches

Sam, Magma, Epik, Jenya, Nowzai, Nemoris, Dalamus, Anag

The Dice:

Anaghazi: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Dalamus: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Epik: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19

Magma: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Nemoris: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Nowzai: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Sam: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

Male Stonechild Stonechild 4 / Fighter 5/ Cleric 1/ Stalwart defender 1 (HP 156 AC 29) (Fort 19 Reflex 10 Will 11) alignment LN

Heads up we have 4 armed monkey throwing axes at us.
let move into the passage way and get out of his line of sight

Were our light sources dispelled?

The torches are still burning hot, just not emitting light

Male Fetchling Slayer 7/ Red Mantis 5

Dalamus will attempt to find a crevasse or something to give himself some coverage.

"I cannot see, so I have no idea what passage you are referring to!"

Nowzai maintains a defensive stance and casts shield.

No. I cast it and all my other buffs when we entered the pipe. After "several hours", they have all since worn off. Thus, the recasting of magic circle, etc.

Female Human Priestess of Iomedae 10

Looking back, he cast it along with some other spells when you entered the pipe mid afternoon. Its now late twilight, so I'd say there are still about 3 hours left on the hour per level spells

Balcony Round 1

Sam, Magma, Epik, Jenya, Nowzai, Nemoris, Dalamus, Anag

Know Arcana DC29 & Darkvision:
The creature is an anghazhani, an intelligent, magical girallon. It has some fiendish resistances although it is not an outsider and is known to have some magical powers over darkness, teleportation, mind control and dispelling. It's vision allows it to see in multiple spectrums

Sam and Magma lead folks under the balcony or down the pasageway to the left while Nowzai casts his incantation.

Darkvision:

Nowzai finishes his spell and swaps places with the beast appearing on the balcony. In a rage the giant gorilla spins and assaults the nearest party members with it's claws and teeth.

Dalamus hears a growl very near him and the hot, fetid breath of a large creature before he is slashed viciously

Everyone hears multiple hoots and screeches and other monkey-like sounds from down the passage way.

The Dice:

Angha Will vs Nowzai: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Angha Bite vs Dal: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (12) + 16 = 28; HIT! Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Angha Claw vs Dal: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (14) + 16 = 30; HIT! Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Angha Claw vs Dal: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (10) + 16 = 26; HIT! Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
