Oren Mitabu |
Never saw Free Swim before. That looks pretty groovy, to be honest!
Lirotha Karsani |
We need to save our spell slots if at all possible. I asked for Communal Protection from Evil. Its only one spell and it covers ALL of us. Also remember the most powerful tool to an enemy underwater spell-caster: Dispel Magic. It can ruin your free diving magics quite quickly!
DM Elan Morin |
Magic Circle against evil costs 3 level slots and lasts 100 minutes. Also Elurius is the only one who rolled perception...
The murky waters make so Elurius does NOT notice anything at all...
Oren Mitabu |
Oren is ready. After drinking her Mutagen, she has 60 minutes of increased speed and low light vision. ”Pick the spells and let’s go. It’s now or never!”
Lirotha Karsani |
I haven't leveled up yet so I haven't rolled perception yet. Magic Circle cannot be moved. Once it's placed it stays in that location. Anybody who leaves the circle loses protection so that doesn't help us. Let's keep it simple...Protection from Evil for each of us (Duration is his level in minutes for each of us)- so that's 6 levels used. Free swim for Oren(3 levels), and Telepathic Bond (5 levels) on as many people as possible (Caster plus one willing creature per three cater levels). Then air bubble on Talon's gun of choice. I will have a single Air Bubble memorized as backup if needed.
Lirotha Karsani |
Lirotha will cast Mage Armor on herself as soon as she has the chance once in the water. Reminder NOTE: I have my everburning torch strapped to my back and poking over my left shoulder which should work well with my low-light vision.
Perception+Alertness: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 12 + 2 = 20
_Valrani |
Before heading in, Val uses her regular meditations, and provides the group water breathing.
She will also enhance her own protections (barkskin) and ability to use her staff underwater (free swim).
Then, entering the depths, she too looks around.

Shouting, "We're *glub* Under attack! *Blurble*", she rustles frantically for her flag and pulls it out before locking eyes on the weapon the creature in red is carrying and incanting a short spell.
Casting Burning Disarm on Mr. Red. He needs to make a DC 16 Reflex save to drop his weapon or take (5d4 ⇒ (1, 1, 2, 1, 3) = 8/2 =4) damage. It might deal more damage due to boiling the water (The rules for which are here) but the spell doesn't specify.

Every one of you has 10 minutes of PfE active.
Oren has Free Swim for 100 minutes
Talon has air bubble for 10 minutes
Professor Borhausen and 3 of you have Telepathic Bond for 100 minutes
Lirotha Karsani |
Telepathic bond = Oren, Val and me. Val if you need to shapeshift, this should still allow us to still hear you in any form. How long will the Water Breathing spells from the wand last?
DM Elan Morin |
Does anyone want to bot Rocco and possibly Talon?
Unfamiliar with the watery environment Rocco waits for his friends to take the initiative.
Elurius casts a spell at one of the ugly creatures threatening the SIlver Ravens. The monster's trident starts to glow red and all around the metallic spikes water starts to sizzle and boil, yet the wooden shafts do not burn...
Knowing they wasted the element of surprise the creatures close in on their targets charging through the water!

Rocco Hardweather |
Knowing that Elurius isn't the hardiest of the people currently on the front line of the fight, Rocco tries to give the green creature the sense that a large aquatic predator is ready to swim up behind it!
Cast Cause Fear. DC16 Will save or target is frightened for 1d4 ⇒ 1 rounds, or shaken for 1 round on a successful save. Target is immune if it has 6+ HD.
DM Elan Morin |
@Valrani: give me a DC10 swim check please, as far as I can tell you have no freedom of movement, no swim speed, no firm footing and that's a -6 to hit, if you fail the swim check your penalty becomes -10. Giving free swim to everyone could have been a good idea...
Lirotha swims away from the fish faced creature's reach while Oren's fists reduce the her opponent to pulp.
Meanwhile Rocco casts a frightening spell on one of the creatures.

Elurius Parthreon |
Cast a spell and have a flag in the other hand, she doesn't have a weapon at the ready.
Elurius's eyes widen as the two things carrying tridents close in on her. Sh gives an unhappy sounding glub of annoyance and then rubs her casting fingers together, clearly trying to snap them but the water prevents her from following through. As her fingers slide along each other her form disappears from sight.
She tries to float away from the monsters, next to Oren and casts a short spell, the platinum ring Elurius gave the fighter earlier starting to glow a faint silver.
One question: would casting Prayer break invisibility? I'm assuming so (negative consequences fro the enemies = harming them, no?)
Flag is ACTIVE. +1 to hit, damage and saves vs. fear or charms.
Shield other on Oren. (+1 to AC and saves)
DM Elan Morin |
@Valrani: Then Valrani smashes the acquatic fiend yet she's not able to kill it outright
@Elurius: yes, prayer would break invisibility
Talon swims near the fray while Elurius turns invisible.
