Yuki Okano
"Sorry Nymph, I don't think that'll help in this case." Yuki says apologetically as she takes a 5' step back, drops her cutlass and fires two arrows from the bow she is still carrying in her off hand.

Both arrows miss the poor, crazed naga as it continues its single-minded assault on the hapless druid.
Attack (Bite): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Sadly it misses. Or happily, if you're our hapless druid.
Galean "Rafter" Santiago
WOW! Assessment handed in! A week of freedom and piracy!
Galean is almost surprised seeing the blow miss, as he swings his cutlass at the naga.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Confirm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
AC back to 17.
The blow narrowly misses an artery, instead striking the thick scales next to it.

Sorry guys, been crazy busy trying to get everything together to buy a house. Finally think I've managed it however, so yay me! Also, may not have reliable internet around the middle of January.
Yuki's second arrow finally kills the poor, mad naga and a terrible stillness descends on the docks.
The carpenter who volunteered looks at the naga in surprise.
I cannae believe that! Rickety, he made a deal with them naga he did. Not like the first people what lived here, poor bastards.
He pumps your hands enthusiastically, ignoring the bleeding druid for the moment.
Gods above though, you surely saved our hide - crazed nagas are no joke and that struth! You need some beer!
The workers cheer and happily cart you all back to the waiting area you're bunking in for a night of drinking to celebrate your feat when you're ready.
The water naga carries no treasure, but you could try cutting it up if you wanted to preserve it and sell later for spell components or exotic food or a lab specimen. Before you do let me know if that's the way you're going.
DM Davy Jones
What are you wanting? Experiment fodder or scales/teeth/organs to preserve and sell? Heal for former, survival for latter.
Yuki Okano
"Galean is a druid, maybe he would know best about all that. Although, you should probably ask Nymph if she's okay with that first since she seems to have some sort of connection to it." Yuki suggests before trying to scrounge up some of the arrows she fired.
Arrow Retrieval 1 bad 2 good: 8d2 ⇒ (2, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2) = 13
Nymph
"I... I was just wanting to know why it attacked us. Something didn't seem right..."
Yuki Okano
"No idea." Yuki admits, then turns to the one of the workers, "You guys having trouble with lots of crazed naga lately? Anything going on around here that might set one off?"
DM Davy Jones
One of the sailors scratches his neck.
Well, there's been an awful drought lately up the river, like? I suppose that wouldn't be too good. Nagas like their water don't they? And they need the fresh water - not the brackish kind here in the lagoon or sea water neither. Something about the salt I suppose, but who can fathom the ways of the gods, eh? Still, better it than us I always say.
Sensitive pirates, ye gods.
Nymph
"Should we check it out? No more Naga attacks and that might make dealings with these guys easier from now on," Nymph inquires to Captain Yuki.
Galean "Rafter" Santiago
Galean scratches his head. "Now, I've, um, dried a lot of fish in my day... I guess it's similar? But we need a bigger fire to hang it over. Uh. I'll think of something.", he says, as the others converse about the Naga.
Survival: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
"And I don't think it's nice to leave anyone with bad water, I mean, it's not nice.", he continues in his highly confident voice. "So, let's go check it out?", he says, sheathing his cutlass.
Yuki Okano
You're the one that chose these sensitive pirates, GM.
"Yeah, we can go check it out if you guys want, although if it's just the effects of the drought I don't know what we can really do to help other than put some more nagas out of their misery. I mean, I can create water, but it only lasts a day or so unless you drink it."
DM Davy Jones
There's the heartless pirates I know.
Galean's able to figure out how to get a good bit of pieces off the naga, worth up to 1,000 gp to the right buyer (you'd have to find a friendly arcane spellcaster so Port Peril, Quent or Ilizmagorti would be your best bets).
Ayre
I am game. Can we take care of that tomorrow, I would prefer to prepare some different spells
Yuki Okano
"Tomorrow sounds fine to me, we'll just pull off a ship's boat and head up the river to see what we can find."
Nymph
Formerly down Nymph beams at Yuki's decision, though she held off on trying to hug her. At least for the moment.
DM Davy Jones
The night is a welcome respite from the heat and the workers toast you quite a bit for your defeat of the naga. When you discuss your plan with Rickety however he gets a sour look on his face.
Listen, ye don't just go up river ye hear? I made me a deal with them nagas years ago - I get the bay and they get the river and that's that. I don't hustle up that way and if ye had any sense ye wouldn't either - they're territorial as all git out.
Nymph
"Tell that to the crazy ass Naga that shimmied its ass down here. When snakes scurry like that it's rarely just one on its own."
Yuki Okano
"Okay, how about this. In respect to your deal, Rickety, we'll leave it alone unless more nagas show up in violation of your agreement or something else weird or related happens. Is that acceptable?" Yuki offers, perhaps wanting to stay on the good side of the man squibbing their ship.
Galean "Rafter" Santiago
"That sounds like a good deal. I hope the nagas aren't all getting crazy. Because that'd be bad.", says Galean, stuffing excess naga bits in his bag. "Uh. I'll leave that on the ship?", he says, pointing to the naga scales.
DM Davy Jones
That's probably a durn good idea if ye ask me Cap'n Yuki.
Any other infamy attempt this evening?
Yuki Okano
Later that night, Yuki tells the story of how her powerful group defeated the monsters on the grindylow island, leaving out the crab incident.
Infamy Increase with Intimidation: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
If you guys could help with aid another checks, that would be great. I'm going to have to dump more ranks into her Intimidation next level or we will be very slow in building infamy.
Galean "Rafter" Santiago
Oh, the damn crabs... I'm happy she missed that..., thinks Galean as he sits like a kid in front of the fire, ale moustache on his peach fuzz. "So, uh, we're as tough as that.", he mutters quietly. I hope she doesn't mention about taking the ship. It's technically still Harrigan's, I think., he continues his thoughts, staring at the nightly sea.
Nymph
Aid Another: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (14) - 2 = 12
I can actually help with these now since they removed the Charisma check penalties in ISR :3
Nymph tries to help with Yuki's storytelling. Mostly by describing the taste and texture of all the poor souls who weren't Tilly that got hickies from her.
DM Davy Jones
Ayre, you want to help? Also, I'm willing to give you a bonus of up to +5 if you describe your speech or write out your pitch in a humorous way.
Ayre
Well, I can't speak much to it, but I believe Rocky can
Rocky hops down and strolls to the center and begins to pantomime. He demonstrates, looking up at the massive foes, backing up and charging, then taking to the air, twisting multiple times and slamming into foes, noses shatter, teeth fly. He demonstrates diving down the gullet of the large beast and chewing his way out.
1d20 ⇒ 9
So that is what actually happened.
Yuki Okano
"...So there we were in the dark heart of the grindylow nest. Waves and waves of the little buggers came after us, but we mowed them all down with swords, arrows, and magic. After defeating all of her minions, the evil grindylow Queen became desperate and summoned a giant squid to swallow us whole. It tried to blind us with it's poisonous ink, but we managed to skewer the thing whole before it could really hurt us.
With the sea monster finally defeated, we cornered the queen in the center of her lair. There we discovered the horrible truth, it was the grindylows who kidnapped our crew. To make things worse, we discovered they were part of a cunning trap-- the grindylows had tied their feet to block of silver which slowly dragged them to the bottom of the queen's lair into the hungry arms of water ghouls.
You would think that would be enough, but no, we also had to battle the grindylow Queen's evil magic and her consort, a grindylow the size of a ship's boat. This would spell the end for any ordinary crew, but not us. We unleashed an onslaught of unstoppable power on our enemies, with Ayre pummeling them with his magic spells, Galean countering the Queen's nature magic with his own, Nymph tearing into them with her magic sword, and me filling them full of arrows. Things looked dark for a brief moment when the ghouls paralyzed Ayre, but that only focused us on killing them faster. Soon, the water was full of grindylow blood and the remains of undead, but the Queen was still just barely alive. As she tried to flee, the others rescued our fallen crew, while I fired two arrows into the Queen's forehead, and with that the terror of the southern seas was finally vanquished."
That pretty much covers the major battle with a focus on sounding intimidating.
Nymph
Oh! Oh! Don't forget where Nymph tore herself free after getting eaten!
*munches on popcorn*
DM Davy Jones
Well, that was better! I'll give ya points for that. Your DC for Infamy at this point is DC 19 - but that means that with aid another and the +5 bonus you juuuuuust meet it. You Infamy score (starting at 1) is now 2.
You're back to waiting around on another long, hot day when the flag at the tower - the same one that went up when you arrived - rises again into the sky signalling a new arrival. When you go out to take a look you get a start - a Chelish galleon is anchored in the cove and an armed party is clamoring onto the dock from their launch. Clearly the lookout was asleep until far too late.
Make a DC 15 Knowledge (Local) Check for me. For the sake of convenience I'm assuming you're all always armed.
DM Davy Jones
It's very unlikely the Chelish navy would know where Rickety's Squibs is located.
Yuki Okano
Upon seeing the armed party exit the Chelish ship, Yuki draws her bow, "Let's see what this is all about before we start attacking anyone, but it's good to be ready."
Nymph
Nymph nods at Yuki's orders, though it was obvious she was uncomfortable with a Chelish presence so close by.
Nymph
Perception: 1d20 + 13 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 13 + 2 = 24
Yuki Okano
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Yuki stares over at the ship to try to get a better understanding of what's going on.
DM Davy Jones
Nymph and Ayre see a wary group of sailors - armed but not obviously trying to attack - eyeing there surroundings and note that at least one of them is gesturing at the armed Yuki and your own crowd of buccaneers.
Ayre
Ayre informs the group of what he sees, then he stands toward the rear of the group and lets them do their thing.
Nymph
Nymph steps up protectively alongside Yuki, but doesn't otherwise obstruct her. "Be careful..." she murmurs to her captain.
Galean "Rafter" Santiago
Galean scratches his head. "Uhm. Could it be someone capturing a Cheliaxian ship? And bringing it here?", he says, placing a hand on his cutlass and staring at the skies, prepared for an albatross attack at any moment.
