Kyra steps into the room behind her companions, imbues her blade with magical energy, and then quickly casts a spell. Suddenly she dashes forward in a blur, leaving behind a cascade of multi-hued images as she rushes towards one of the dretches!

The arrow sank into its flesh with ease.

Kankai the White_____
Moving quickly up she struck at #7 before it could react. The blade felt light in her hand, but quickly warming up in fury as she neared the dretch.
The sword sank eagerly into the little creature’s stomache, then slid out again with ease, eviscerating it. It spills its guts and dies where it stood.

Alorah_____

Kyra steps into the room behind her companions, imbues her blade with magical energy, and then quickly casts a spell. Suddenly she dashes forward in a blur, leaving behind a cascade of multi-hued images as she rushes towards one of the dretches!
She pirouetted over to Red 6 and scalloped right through him. He falls in several pieces.

Red 1; This tiefling officer shrieked out “Get them! GET THEM!” at the Dretches before fleeing up the stairway hollering for help.

Red 2 this Dretch ran up to Kelden and slashed at him.

He called out glad he had studied these lessor monsters before his trip up her to fight the world wound at the least.

Focusing on one of the summoners, Alorah unleashes a silent scream, the sound stabbing into the dretch, #4.

Carilain quickly draws and looses another cold iron arrow at the dretch that is summoning more of it's foul kin.
Carilain sank an arrow into Red 4, and the little demon lost control of his spell with a ‘pop’ and a puff of brimstone.

Kankai the White_____
Kankai shifted into a more defensive stance. "Someone get that damned tiefling then. I'll get the dretch on the right."
Quickly moving around her allies and Provoking Attack of Opportunity from #2 (Which missed.) Current AC 20 closing in on #3. Moved to F13
The blade sung through the air beautifully as it sought out the evil dretch, seeking to sever its bond to this world.
The dretch exploded in a welter of purpleish blood as it fell into three pieces.

The Dretch also screamed in agony as blood dribbled out its ears (it’s summoning was already disrupted).

Red 1, the tiefling, lashed out at Thetin (but was deflected by armor) before dashing past him up the stairs. (Thetin is eligible for an AoO.)

Red 2 this Dretch full attacked Kelden.

Red 4 this Dretch ran up to the line of scrimmage and belched forth a noxious Stinking Cloud on our heroes. (Carilain, Keldon and Kyra, and anyone else who enters the cloud). They must make a Fort Save DC13 or be afflicted with the Nausea condition.

Red 5 this Dretch full attacked Kyra.

Kankai turns seeing the cloud and snaps her beak before looking up the stairs. 'Let's finish the dretch's so whatever he calls in doesn't have back up.

It was a calculated risk. Moving to G12 putting the dretch between her and Kelden Kankai shifted swinging the new blade from the dretch's hip to its opposite shoulder trying to sever its spine.

Kyra coughs and wretches a bit at the awful smell that attempts to overwhelm her senses; however, the young bard swallows back the contents of her stomach and twirls out of the cloud as she brings her around in an arc to slice deep into hide of the foul demon before her!

Taking careful aim, Alorah sends a magically enhanced cold iron bolt punching into the unengaged demon on the other side of the toxic cloud.

The young cleric sidestepped out of the noxious fumes glad that Sarenrae's light kept him from inhaling any of it, he answered the minions of evil's actions by bringing down the mace hard at the dretch in front of him.

Thetin swings at the tiefling as he runs past then chases after him cutting him off again at the top of the stairs again (move to E4 and provoke AoO from R1). Thetin then takes another swing at the Tiefling cultist.

Carilain just managed to hit the dretch in the left arm for light damage. It’s still up.

Taking careful aim, Alorah sends a magically enhanced cold iron bolt punching into the unengaged demon on the other side of the toxic cloud.
The bolt took the dretch straight through the heart.

Kelden Sunblade_____
The young cleric sidestepped out of the noxious fumes glad that Sarenrae's light kept him from inhaling any of it, With no dretches on the ground floor, he double moved up the stairway in pursuit of the fleeing tiefling.

Thetin Dorvas______
Thetin swings at the tiefling as he runs past, hacking him down. He fell off the stairs, landing heavily at the feet of Alorah.

This battle is over.

A brief search reveals that the Dretches of course had nothing in the way of possessions, while the Tiefling seargent had his uniform Studded Leather armor, his shortsword, and some seventy crowns worth of various coinages in his sizeable coin purse.

Kyra wearily looks around for any more enemies. "We must hurry. Who knows what else has been alerted by all that noise."

Who's going up the stairs and in what order?

Thetin will head up the stairs first

Kankai would offer to go up stealthily first but if Thetin wishes to lead she would let him keeping a sharp eye out and listen carefully.

Kelden moved to follow the two up the stairs once more saying a silent little prayer to the goddess to look over them. They had to be getting close to the wardstone now...

Kyra follows closely behind! She puts her hand on Kelden's shoulder as he closes the distance and pulls him into a quick. "Just in case either of us should fall this day."

Smiling at the exchange, Alorah falls in behind the others, keeping her mace in hand.

Just realized the word was cut from last post... That was supposed to say "a quick hug."

Carilain puts his bow away, and draws Grimstar. He follows up the stairway.

I was wondering whether it was hug or kiss. lol

Cautiously moving up the stairs, Thetin comes nose to nose with a tiefling uniformed guard, who jumps back with a curse.

Was waiting for Thetin to post first as a reaction to the situation; however, it's already been two days and no one has posted yet. Therefore....

Kyra spots Thetin suddenly stop short and hears an enemy cursing from the top of the hallway. 'Dawnflower... how many enemies are in this accursed place?' She rushes to the top of the stairs, slipping around her companions and skids to a halt next to Thetin. She immediately slashes at the tiefling he had bumped into.

Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 2 + 1 = 7

I was much the same but no worries.

Keldon was caught a bit surprised by Kyra's move, and he colored for a moment almost not paying attention to their surroundings. When Thetin almost plowed into the tiefling, and Kyra moved quickly he knew there was only a few options. They had to get into that room, being stuck on the stairwell would be bad.

He cast Sanctuary on himself and then ran up the stairs past the tieflings to the far wall.

Anyone targeting Kelden must make a dc 14 will save to make any sort of attack against him.

Thetin recoils in surprise as he comes face to face with the enemy and almost loses his footing on the stairs but quickly tries to shakes it off as kyra and kelden move up. He tries to regain his balance on the stairs and swings Radiance at the cultist in front of him but misses.

Letting an enemy get close enough to rub faces with me then miss my swing from suprise. Thetins face reddens in anger under his helmet. Fate of Kenabres at stake and I'm still making rookie mistakes.

Kankai used the chaos to move between the two tieflings after Kelden and towards the door on the opposite wall. Running up to #4 she would thrust the blade in a graceful motion. Her intense eyes looking at the one she was stabbing while his guard was dropped.

I know Tieflings count as outsiders but I do not believe they trigger the bane property of the weapon hence why it is not added above.

Running up to Red 4, she ran him right through the chest without stopping. He dropped like a stone, and just as dead.

Well, they are classed as outsiders, native or no, and they are Evil; I would rule that your blade’s Bane would indeed affect them. It’s those Death Knights you’re going to have a problem with.

Dodging the one who charged her, her blade slid free of the first as she sidestepped. The blade swung under his strike and aimed to gut him as he passed.

As she comes back onto her feet on the other side of Carilain, she thrusts her blade at the uninjured enemy surrounding her companion!
