M Human ( Chelis ) Fighter 2

"I would like to know myself."

Female Half-Orc Sorcerer, 7th (Brass Draconic Bloodline)

So Semenya is 90' forward, and investigating a rusting tower shield, Eklektos just gave a warning to his pet not the rest of the party, and everyone's stopped, yes?

I do believe it's DM's next post.

Male Aasimar Druid 2

I was trying to have it be loud enough to reach the rest of the party, but we don't know who or if any among them heard it. I'd only have been 40' back or so, on the edges of torch range, and ditto for Theron. Probably no higher than a DC14 Perception, unless the sewers count as unfavorable terrain. But yes, DM's move. Hope I don't get eaten. :)

Dark Archive

Semenya:

Spoiler:
You do see an opening in the wall behind the shield. From what you can tell, the small room beyond is about 10'x10' square and in the corner sits a few tools, such as shovels and picks.

I totally forgot about the map revision you mentioned in the beginning Semenya. From now on I'm going to modify the maps to be right. I am working on a post for Eklektos and should have it up a little later. Go ahead and roll for the perception check if you wants guys.

Male Human Rogue 1

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27. The perception check is to read the spoiler to Eklektos? Is the DC 14?

M Human ( Chelis ) Fighter 2

Arodio sits around, twisting his thumbs.

Male Aasimar Druid 2

Perception is probably to have heard the whistle. At least, that's what I posted a possible DC for, but it's up to Master C-HP.

Dark Archive

Yes, that's what it is for. DC 14

Spoiler:
Young Croc
Bite 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 Damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 Grab CMB 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Initiative:
Croc 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Eklektos 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 Theron will go on your turn from now on

Initiative:
Eklektos 17 (Grappled) Theron will go on your turn from now on
Young Crocodile 16

Eklektos

Spoiler:
Watching the sewage intently, all of a sudden a young crocodile lunges at you from the channel, knocking your spear back with it's thrashing and latches onto your arm with it's bite. Seeing this, Theron charges the croc, biting it just above it's arm.

You take 4 damage and are grappled. Will have a map up for you soon.

Male Human (Azalanti) Hp: 96/110, AC: 30 Bard 8/Fighter 4

Derek strains to hear what is going on around him.
Perception:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
But hearing nothing he turns to the others and asks in a low voice: "Do any of you hear anything? I don't know what's going on..."

I'll roll for initiative just in case it is needed
Initiative:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Male Aasimar Druid 2

Shit. I knew I was going to get eaten. 'Swhat I get for poking the water with a pointy stick. Did the Daylight spell go off, at least?

Eklektos, never having been one for wrestling lizards as big as himself, summons an ally to help him with his struggle. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19 concentration check to cast a spell while grappled (DC 10 + grappler’s CMB + spell level), converting Cure Light Wounds to spontaneous Summon Nature's Ally 1.

The air shimmers, and the shimmer forms itself into a Giant Centipede that instantly moves to attack the Crocodile attached to Eklektos's arm.

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 Hm. Clearly no poison this round.

Theron continues to try to savage the thing this round, roaring in frustration that it still has a grip on Eklektos.

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 bite attack, for 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 damage.

Male Human Rogue 1

DM & central group::

Del tilts his head toward the back of the party.

Stop. Nature boy just let out a whistle. We may have something coming behind us.

DM & Semenya:
Del whispers to Semenya: Come back, Semenya. The druid sees something behind us. We're going to check on him, and I'll fall out of range of your spell.

Edit to change "cocks" to "tilts". :)

Female Half-Orc Sorcerer, 7th (Brass Draconic Bloodline)

Semenya does a Move action to move 30' back towards Del, and a second Move action to cock and load her crossbow. She's now 60' in front of Del.

Del:
On my way.

M Human ( Chelis ) Fighter 2

If someone tells me where i am and what i see or hear, maybe i would like to help some

"Someone's in trouble? What is going on ?"

Dark Archive

Spoiler:
Semenya 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Del 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Arodio 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

MAP

Initiative:
Arodio 22 (+3)
Derek 22 (+2)
Del 22 (+2)
Eklektos 17 (Grappled) & Theron
Young Crocodile 16
Semenya 8

As the crocodile attached to Eklektos' arm, his daylight spell triggered and now the tunnel is lit up like you were outdoors at high noon.

Everyone is aware of what is happening now. I believe it is to you Arodio.

Male Aasimar Druid 2

As a note, there's also a summoned Giant Centipede in a position to attack the Croc. Or does that happen when my next Initiative count comes around? Probably end up in A1 or A2, whichever way it goes.

M Human ( Chelis ) Fighter 2

Arodio will drop in the water and go straight for the croc.
Don't think i can reach it in one round...if needed i'll rush at x3 speed. But i'll stop before entering threat area, don't want AoO

Male Human (Azalanti) Hp: 96/110, AC: 30 Bard 8/Fighter 4

Hmm, not really too keen on making too much noise here, but then again, a battle makes a lot of noise anyway

Seeing no good position to engage the croc in melee, Derek draws one of his daggers, preparing to throw it while also giving voice to the rousing ballad of Sir Tristan and the dragon in an attempt to inspire his allies.

"For his heart knew no fear,
In the face of danger, his duty still clear.
to defeat the beast, to lay it low,
courage was all his heart would know."

Move action to draw a dagger, standard action to inspire courage +1. Bardic Performance 6/7

Male Human Rogue 1

Del mutters under his breath as he rushes to the fight. "What have I gotten myself into?"

He wraps his arms around the croc's head, trying to pry its jaws off Eklektos.

Move to C2. Aid another CMB vs 10: 1d20 ⇒ 6

Del's arms fail to get purchase on the slippery beast, and he slides off into the muck.

Actually, a grappled combatant can't make AoO's. Though I believe in combat, you're limited to double move, so I don't think you could get there if you're wearing scale mail.

M Human ( Chelis ) Fighter 2

Missed the grapple condition, anyway i'm rushing faster i can.Forgot also the water should be difficult terrain

Actually the summon spell fizzles on your turn this round, because your concentration check did not pass. Sorry if I am making this confusing. First round, your daylight spell went off, the croc came out and bit you, then Theron charged and bit it. Second round starts full initiative with everyone aware.

Female Half-Orc Sorcerer, 7th (Brass Draconic Bloodline)

When it's Semenya's turn to act, she will step 5 feet forward and shoot the crocodile.

1d20 - 2 ⇒ (7) - 2 = 5 (The -2 is +2 for DEX and -4 for firing into Melee)

Male Aasimar Druid 2

Ah. Bugger. I thought a 19 would work as far as the concentration check. Still, these things happen.

DC was actually 20. So close :(

Male Human (Azalanti) Hp: 96/110, AC: 30 Bard 8/Fighter 4

Going to be away til Monday, so please bot Derek until I'm back

M Human ( Chelis ) Fighter 2

got the smartphone i was after for sometime.Nice phone, but a bit tricky to post from there. If nothing else i can follow the thread wherever i am :)

also i got a bit confused on the situation, anyway no matter how many rounds it'll take, i know i cannot rush but my action for this round is still running to the croc

Dark Archive

Just posting real quick to let you guys know I'm not gone, just busy as heck. We'll get this thing moving again soon.

Dark Archive

Spoiler:
Croc Grapple (Death Roll) 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14 Damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Arodio and Del rush to Eklektos side, Del attempts to pry the crocodile’s jaws from Eklektos’ arm, but slips off before he can get a grip. Derek draws his dagger and sings, inspiring courage in his allies.
Eklektos attempts to summon an ally to aid their efforts, but the constant movement of the grappling croc interrupts his concentration and the spell fizzles. Theron moves in again at the croc, biting deep into its side.

The crocodile tucks it's legs and spins with enough force to bring Eklektos to the ground ripping his flesh.

Semenya, trying to aim through all of her companions, slips just enough to put her shot into the tunnel roof above the crocodile.

MAP

Eklektos is now prone and takes 3 more damage. The croc has taken 10 points total.

Male Human (Azalanti) Hp: 96/110, AC: 30 Bard 8/Fighter 4

Derek moves forward carefully, maintaining his song to aid his allies, then as he reaches a slightly better position he flings is drawn dagger at the croc.

Move action to H2, then ranged attack against the crocodile
Ranged attack:1d20 - 3 ⇒ (6) - 3 = 3 Inspire courage, dex, ranged into melee and cover.
Damage:1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Bardic performance 5/7

M Human ( Chelis ) Fighter 2

"Will you please let me pass? How am i supposed to help?"

Male Human Rogue 1

Actions:
standard action: aid another CMB vs 10: 1d20 ⇒ 2
move action to E1

Del tries again to get a grip on the croc, but again finds himself slipping into the muck. "Bah! He's all yours, Arodio." Del steps back, trying to sweep the muck off his coat.

M Human ( Chelis ) Fighter 2

at what stage of the round are we atm ? i'm definitively lost :(

When i can i'll start smashing croc's head

Standard action:attack with flail1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 should be a hit
damage 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Male Human (Azalanti) Hp: 96/110, AC: 30 Bard 8/Fighter 4

Well, Arodio could hold his action until after Del moved, then move forward and smash the croc I think?

Male Human Rogue 1

That's what I figured, unless he wanted to use a double move action to pace back and forth on his turn. :)

Male Aasimar Druid 2

Eklektos continues to try and wriggle free of the croc's grip.

Escape Artist: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Theron, scenting his companion's blood, does everything he can to rip the croc several new ones.

Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

No luck on either side, it seems.

Female Half-Orc Sorcerer, 7th (Brass Draconic Bloodline)

Semenya crouches and reloads her crossbow (move action) and holds her shot to see if she can get a clear one, after seeing Del step back and Arodio stride forward with his whiling flail.

I am waiting to see if Arodio's action gets the croc before her opportunity to shoot comes up. If Arodio's flail takes out the crocodile, the die rolls below won't be needed.

1d20 - 2 ⇒ (19) - 2 = 17 (Shoot crossbow into melee)
1d8 ⇒ 4 Damage

Male Human (Azalanti) Hp: 96/110, AC: 30 Bard 8/Fighter 4

You don't seem to add the bonus from Dereks inspire courage people, +1 to hit and +1 to damage can make a lot of differance sometimes.

M Human ( Chelis ) Fighter 2

You are right Derek, forgot that

So Arodio's last to hit and dam rolls become 18 and 10 respectively

Male Aasimar Druid 2

I also forgot about those for Theron's attack rolls. Wouldn't make much difference, I suspect, but those are now 6, 7, and 4 respectively.

Dark Archive

As Del moves around the croc, arms sliding off its head, Arodio rushes in and slams his flail into the creatures back causing it to gasp and release Eklektos from its jaws. It squirms for a minute then lets out its last breath.

Congratulations, 100xp each.

Female Half-Orc Sorcerer, 7th (Brass Draconic Bloodline)

Semenya says, via Message to Del, "How soon before the wounded are tended? I've found a room here that looks like it's being used for something. Not sure what, and I'd like you to look it over."

Dark Archive

Everyone please check OOC thread. There is a link to it in my profile.

Male Human (Azalanti) Hp: 96/110, AC: 30 Bard 8/Fighter 4

As the mighty swing of Arodio ends the life of the sewer dwelling monstosity, Derek stops sining, and grimaces slightly as he hears the echo of his own voice die down.

"Well done master Ambusta, I think we have seen the last of that one. How is master Apofysis doing? I seem to recall that you had some healing magic? Would you use it for now, I think it might be sound to have it spread out a little, if I fall you can heal me and vice versa."

Dark Archive

Don't forget you all have potions also. Just a reminder.

Male Aasimar Druid 2

Eklektos makes his way to his feet. Pulling one of the pages out of his scroll tube, he reads it out loud, passing hands over his bites. Examining Theron to ensure that his companion doesn't need similar services, he turns to Keegan. "We are ready to go. And I still have plenty of capability to fight and heal. Please, preserve your own powers for a while. Let us continue on."

1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Eklektos and Theron will again take their positions as rear-guard.

-Edit-
Once everybody's ready to move out, Eklektos will dismiss the Daylight spell.

Male Human Rogue 1

While Eklektos and Derek discuss healing magics, Del reaches around in the sewage to find his hat. Standing up, he tips it over to pour out the vile contents. It probably can't be salvaged. He looks down the sewer in the direction the party came. He wonders how long this light spell is going to last. It'll be a dead giveaway of their passage, but he says nothing of it.

"Janiven, how much further is the safehouse?"

Turning to the rest: "Semenya found a suspicious room ahead. I'm going to go take a look at it."

He whispers his message to Semenya: "They're healing up now. I'm on my way. Are there any more markings on the walls near that room?"

Perception to check the room: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11. Concealed items: 14; To find traps: 15.

M Human ( Chelis ) Fighter 2

Arodio also search the ground for his bags...and swears against a hell of a lot of things and people for this unexpected journey.

"I'll follow in a sec"

Male Human (Azalanti) Hp: 96/110, AC: 30 Bard 8/Fighter 4

As the darkness re-asses itself Derek takes a few moment to let his eyes adjust, then he chuckles good naturedly to himself, it will take more than this little adventure to dampen his spirits.

"Well, I guess we came out of that alright, and then all is well. And while Master Vane does what he does best, let's take a moment to listen, to make sure we are not followed."

Perception:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

Male Aasimar Druid 2

Re-marking bump.

Eklektos Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Theron Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Dark Archive

"We are close." Janiven announces as Del heads toward the small room.

The room is apparently storage for tools to work on miscellaneous problems, but it does appear that something was making this it's home. While searching you spot a small chest under some rubble. Searching through the trash and oddities, you come across 15 gold pieces and a silver necklace that is worth about 10 gold.

You can now hear faint noises down the tunnel behind you. The battles must have slowed you down enough so that the Hellknights are gaining.
