Felixian One-Eared
Felixian smiles and nods his head respectfully when Nyx introduces him but stays quiet. He nods to Thanquol, "I'm ready when you are."
Shilara
"Well lets get going. There are creatures that want to kill us that we have kept waiting." She smiles sarcastically, itching at her scaly skin.
Rishkarri
Rishkarri nods eagerly, glancing again toward the jungle. It's evident she's eager to get moving.
Shanosuke
Then off you guys go. The cart of bones is being pulled by the big men and the two negotiators keep close to you while you walk. They guide you along the way taking you along the trail they use.
As you move along you begin to hear some rather disturbing chirping sounds.
To most it would have easily been shrugged off as jungle birds, however, to the five of you, these particular chirping sounds usually happened before a Saurian raid.
I rolled all necessary check for you to gain this information. It basically means you get to act in the surprise round against a Saurian Ambush. This will be a rough encounter so feel free to be generous with your resources. You kind of have to.
Initiative order.
Your team has eliminated the surprise round and you are faster than the Saurians. You don't have the perception to see the scouts though. It's a DC too high.
So you have a round to prepare before they reveal themselves and attack.
Felixian One-Eared
Felixian mutters a quick prayer. "Oh, great Erastil, please grant us your protection if we must do battle. "
Casting shield of faith. AC block should be 19/13/16 for the next minute.
Rishkarri
The druid mimicks the actions of her companion as the chirping begins - ears slide back, teeth bare in a snarl. She hisses a warning to Razorclaw, who flattens himself into the grass to the side of the trail, and begins a strange, droning, wordless chant. Her eyes roll back in her head as a strange rumbling comes from the earth at her feet.
Swapping out aspect of the bear to spontaneously cast summon nature's ally II as a full-round action. Summoning one small earth elemental, which will appear on my next turn. I assume since I don't speak Terran, I can't give it commands, but it will still 'attack your opponents to the best of its ability'.
If possible, Razorclaw will attempt a stealth check to charge from hiding - his result would be 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (12) + 14 = 26, or 30 if there's sufficient undergrowth.
Nyxalia
Seeing everyone start to take action, I decide to follow the suit of Razorclaw and crouch down in some brush, trying to remain hidden.
Stealth : 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
Uh-Oh!
Shilara
Shilara draws her bow and pulls out an arrow, spitting on it. She then knocks it and aims, preparing to shoot. Using Toxic, its a swift action. spoiler for details DC 12
Vishkanya Venom: Injury; save Fort DC 12; frequency 1/round for 6 rounds; effect 1d2 Dex; cure 1 save.
Shanosuke
Sadly I have neither time nor an effective way to make a map at the moment. So we are just going to have to use our imaginations for the time being
ROUND ONE RESULTS
As you had suspected, it is a Saurian ambush.
You prepare for the coming attacks. Out of the jungle bursts two hulking Saurian warriors and from the trees come several Saurian scouts.
The Scouts are small in size and rely on stealth, poison and short bows to strike.
Unfortunately you were unable to see any of the little creatures so they will get sneak attacks
There are about six of them and they volley you and your fellows with their little poison tipped arrows.
Only three of them are aimed at member of your party.
Rishkarri takes a hit for 4 points of damage
Felixian takes a hit for 5 points of damage
Both need to make fort saves DC 12
Two of the cart pullers are hit as well.
The massive warriors move in to engage razorclaw and one of the cart pullers. The cart puller is hit badly by a Saurian broadsword
Razorclaw is missed.
There are two Saurian warriors easily within walking distance of each of you. I have Felix close enough to five foot into malee with one and Rishikarri and Razorclaw are both in melee with one.
The Scouts are in the trees and can only be reached by climbing or ranged attacks. They are within 30 feet though
[b]ROUND 2 BEINGS[b]
Your turns!
Shilara
Shilara let her arrows fly, one poisoned one not. Wind be true!
attack (poison): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Using rapid shot. If in jungle, +2 to attack I believe.
Nyxalia
I wait until Felix moves in to attack his target and then I move so that I am on the other side of it. I then slash out with one of my claws.
Claw Attack : 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 7 + 2 = 29
Critical Confirmation? : 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 7 + 2 = 19
Claw Damage : 1d6 + 1 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 1 + (4) = 7
Critical Damage? : 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 1 = 3
Thanquol
Thanqoul quickly moves to 15ft. from the Saurian warrior engaged with Nyxalia, and Felexian, and uses his whip on the it.
Ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Con, Str, and Dex penalty: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Felixian One-Eared
@Nyx: did you include your 2d6 Sneak Attack?
Felixian moves to the nearest Saurian, waits for Nyx to assume her regular flanking position, and lets loose with his claws.
5ft step
Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 2 = 9
Damage: 1d4 + 2 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 + (2) = 9
Attack 2: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 2 = 7
Damage 2: 1d4 + 2 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 1 + (4) = 8
Rend (if both attacks hit): 1d6 ⇒ 5
EDIT: Forgot to make my Fortitude save.
Fort Save DC 12: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Nyxalia
I rolled a 1D6 for sneak ... forgot that it went up to 2D6 now.
Additional Sneak Damage : 1d6 ⇒ 1
Typical 3 ones for damage and a 4 for 1 sneak dice. an appalling round!
Felixian One-Eared
At least you hit. :-(
EDIT: And I don't think you added the 1d6 from Precise Strike. It's another opportunity to roll a 1, lol.
Nyxalia
Touché I had forgotten that as well. Here goes ...
Precise Strike : 1d6 ⇒ 1
WOW ... another 1! So in total that is : 9 Damage (12 if it is a Critical)
Rishkarri
Rishkarri's droning chant rises to a crescendo, and the earth at her feet erupts. It whirls up, taking a roughly humanoid form the size of a child, forming itself from dirt, grass, and pebbles. It swings its approximation of a fist at the closest foe, trailing dust and debris as it attacks.
Small earth elemental attacking with slam at 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 for 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 damage - added in bonuses from Earth Mastery. The elemental remains for two more rounds.
Rishkarri, meanwhile, draws her scimitar and slashes wildly at the creature before her. Her swing is savage, aiming for damage rather than precision, attempting to take the Saurian down as quickly as possible - and she bares her teeth in a feral grin as it seems to work. She snarls at Razorclaw, spurring the leopard into action.
Attacking with scimitar and using Power Attack at 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 damage. Commanding Razorclaw to use a trick he knows - Attack - as a free action. Handle Animal result is 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14 against DC 10.
Razorclaw takes note of his master's command, lunging at his foe in a flurry of teeth and claws.
Razorclaw makes a full attack against the Saurian he's in melee with. Bite - claw - claw: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10 for 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2, 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18 for 1d2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2, 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19 for 1d2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3.
Shanosuke
Sorry for not posting yesterday. We got a new internet server and I have been offline all day. Really painful first round for you guys though. Saurians are tough.
Round Two Results
Sadly Saurian Warriors have a considerable AC and Felixian, Rishikarri, Razorclaw, Earth Elemental all miss.
I am not sure who Shilara is shooting at. The 18 would hit a scout but not a warrior. You need to let me know which you shot at and I will apply the damage proper.
Thanks to Thanquol scoring against the one Saurian warrior, His AC drops to where Nyx's crit confirms.
Against the now weakened Saurian Warrior, Nyx is able to confirm her critical.
----BAD GUYS----
The Scouts Volley at Thanquol and Shila with their poison tipped arrows. Two shots his Thanquol for 7 damage and one hits Shilara for 3
Thanquol needs to make two fort saves and Shilara needs to make one.
BTW There are six scouts in the trees.
The two warriors volley their prey
The Saurian on the Cart Puller takes a full attack on the man and tears him apart.
The Saurian weakened by the lash strikes out at all those attacking him with one attack each.
A Bite comes at Felix and hits for 6 damage.
Tail slap at Nyx is a miss.
Broad sword at Rishkarri is a miss
A Shield Bash at Razorclaw connects for 7 damage.
----ALLIES TURNS----
Tanya begins a Bardic performance. All of you have +1 to hit and +1 damage.
Thuandil draws his bow and begins to shoot the scouts hitting one.
The Cart Puller gang up on the second Saurian and begin to wail on him. They do a pretty good job considering they are beating on it with clubs.

Felixian grunts in pain but continues his assault on the Saurian.

Damage: 1d4 + 2 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 + (2) = 7

I swear, this is the most 1s I've ever rolled with one character....
EDIT: forgot to add the Bardic Performance bonuses. everything should be +1
Nyxalia
Seeing that the creature is still alive and just hit my brother, I slash at it with my claws again.

Rishkarri
Sorry guys. Had a long and busy weekend - spent Saturday at a day spa with my man, and Sunday was Australia Day, so... let's just say I had a bit much to drink.
Having dropped her opponent, Rishkarri lunges at the Saurian threatening the cart-pullers, blade flashing as she charges forth.
Charging the Saurian Warrior, attacking at 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 5 + 2 + 1 = 20 for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 damage. Add +2 if flanking; I'm not sure how large these things are or how surrounded it currently is.
Razorclaw follows suit, as does the elemental, attacking one final time before collapsing in a pile of earth and rubble that sinks into the ground.
Razorclaw bites at 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 9 + 1 = 19 for 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 damage. Elemental attacks at 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 23 for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 damage, then vanishes.
Shanosuke
Round 4 Results
Nyx begins to climb the tree after one of the scouts.
The rest of you manage to beat the remaining Saurian warrior to death.
Shilara, Tanya, and Thuandil all fire ranged attacks at the scouts in the trees. This drops another one.
The remaining scouts flee. Leaping through the trees. Combat is over.
Tanya begins the task of healing the fallen cart puller. Thankfully he stabilized.
Thuandil offers healing to those who will accept.
If you need healing, roll a D8 once and add three. First come first serve he can only do this five times.
Anything to say or do before we move on?.
Thanquol
Thanqoul sits down for a bit to get his bearings. He then walks over to Thuandil and gets some healing.
Healing 1: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Besides that Thanqoul just makes sure everybody else is okay.
Felixian One-Eared
As Felixian checks the enemy corpses, he notices a copse of herbs. Gathering a handful, he returns to the group. "May I be of assistance? These herbs have healing properties." Pulling out his amulet, he offers a quick prayer to Erastil and applies the herbs to the wounds of anyone who is willing.
1d6 ⇒ 6
If you're okay with it, I'm reflavoring Channel Energy. If that's a problem, please disregard my post. :-)
Nyxalia
I jump down from the tree and begin to clean my claws and fur, I sit on the floor and wait for everybody to be ready to move on.
Shilara
Sorry, my head feels funny cause of medicine. :D
