A group of PCs brought together by a shared hatred are met with far more than just a decrepit criminal. Can they band together and save the day?

Bit of advice: don't take burning gaze. It requires a standard action to cast, and then another standard action to focus the spell on the target, which means that while the initial casting (which doesn't actually do damage) can be used with spell combat, for all other rounds thereafter you'd need to choose between attacking and using the spell to deal damage. It also has a range of Personal, which means it can't be used with spellstrike. It also does terrible damage compared to what you can already do.

I picked burning gaze because I can cast it on Cat and have her use her standard actions to light people on fire while I do something else with my standard actions (such as cast pyrotechnics on the new-lit flame). But for you it's just a bad spell.

P.S. Sorry for not posting IC. I've apparently come down with some kind of stomach flu.

Oh wow yeah that's gross all around. I'll skip that one.

Feel better soon!

I'm just waiting around for Fredo to kick off this meeting. I have a few things in mind that I want to do with Raijinn during the downtime, but they're all going to be after this happens.

I'm waiting for the same thing.

Edit: I'll take it I have about 8 hours time per day to brew potions, that would mean I could brew 4potions of lvl 1 per day or one level 2 per day.

How many Potions of Lesser Restoration do we need? I alone could brew about 4, not counting the profit I'd make with making potions to order.

As I don't know how many potions my usual clients have ordered I'll just assume one of each for now.

Enlarge Person: cost 25, sell 50 gp
Cure Light Wounds: cost 25, sell 50gp
Reduce Person: cost 25, sell 50 gp
Lesser Restoration: cost 150gp, sell 300

Total Profit: 225gp - costs of buying Reduce Person Scroll(25 gp)=200gp
this takes me two days to make, 6 hours for the lvl 1's 1 day for the LR.

So uh...what's everyone doing?

I was still waiting for Fredo. I'll get a post up in the morning either way.

I apologize for keeping folks waiting. In my defense, the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act is very long.

Global Buffs:

If you guys are done with this scene, I can totally move us forward. I'm prime to get us into Chapter Two.
If not, just let me know and I can keep saying stuff :D

I thiiink I'm all set. I'm pretty excited to see what comes next.

I guess we are done with it, if we get a chance to do more with our new 'underground network' of information dealers we will think of something.

I'm ready to move on to the next part if the rest is ready.

Global Buffs:

Gosh, that post was awfully harrowing.

AAYIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE :DDDDDDDDDDD

Oh, also, I've actually put the uses for Harrow points in this module and how many Harrow points everyone has in the campaign tab.

Everyone's got three to start, and there are three uses for them.

Sorry guys, the last week or so has left me really f+&!ed up.

Lein, I'll try to get a post up here and in the other games tonight or tomorrow.

What? Half-Elf Writer 1 / Dancer 1 / Chemist 1

Don't worry about it, I understand :) This past week's been pretty damn rough on me, too.

Global Buffs:

How would you guys feel about adding another player?

Raijinn, you know him - it's Darath from Frogfoot's campaign.

Also, should I just move us forward? I stopped the post where I did to give a little room just in case you guys wanted to have some actions, but if there's nothing you guys want to do at this juncture, I can post again.

Yeah, I'm totally good with that - I liked him. Any idea what he would play?

I'm also good with moving us forward whenever. I don't have anything in particular that I want to do at the moment.

Global Buffs:

I've just sent him the character creation guidelines - I asked him to please not play another arcanist, but he says he likes brainy characters more than not.

So I suppose I don't know quite yet.

I don't mind moving on again, I don't have much to say after the healing is done and the priest informed.

As to a new player, no problems here. He could play a bard or a rogue, they can be brainy as well.

Shadow Lodge

Male Human Bard 3

No problems with a new player from me either, and I'll second the Bard suggestion.

Greetings everyone.

As you may have guessed, I am the new player Harrow mentioned. Nice to meet you all :). While I'm still working on the details of my character build and haven't typed up my full background (mid-term week for me, so little preoccupied) I've solidified enough to give Harrow the green light to bring me in as soon as he can. I figure I'll probably finish before then anyway but ah well.

I'm going to go ahead and play the mystery card and not tell you guys what I'm rolling, though I will say that my avatar has a glaring inconstancy due to lack of selection. Closest I could get though, so meh. Also, the name is pronounced (Em * meh * ra) - the accent at the end is just to make the name unique on the boards.

Welcome! I hear you about Midterm Week; I just had my oral argument yesterday, and have a paper due on Friday. I didn't see the accent 'til you pointed it out, so it can't be that obtrusive. Here's to good rolls, and a new character.

Female Aasimar Cleric of Iomedae 5

Define 'good' :p My rolls are a bit under par, but I should be well enough.

I'm reading the start of the second chapter, so I'll be kind of up to date once I'm added in. I'm avoiding anything much earlier than that (read: before the execution) for now to avoid having to do any more character/player separation than I have to. Given my... position... I imagine I will be aware of that much background at least. If there's anything I should definitely know, I'm sure Harrow will tell me.

Global Buffs:

Welcome! Glad to see that you've checked in. I should have a tie-in to ah..tie you in soon enough.

Good to see you again, and welcome aboard!

Global Buffs:

I've just put a message in gameplay that involves Emmera. Feel free to begin posting in Gameplay anytime.

GM:
A slight correction: The burns were successfully healed, the bandages are worn due to a combination of the 'scars'/marking being a bit of an eyesore/distraction/unwanted attention, and as a semi-constant reminder of the miracle of the healing itself. I am aware that being covered in bandages is at least as attention grabbing as burn-scar like markings, but she finds it better than having the markings on display.

I'm in class now, I'll get something out after I get home.

Just putting this here so I have a reference. Pseudonyms for Big Sky articles assuming anyone wants to write one:

Emmera: The Queen Mother
Raijinn: The Forge
Goffred Giulianoff: Bakari, The Inquisitor (I'm going to transition from the former to the latter over the next couple of articles I write, to become more in line with the theme)
Thaven Jack: The Peacock
Amin Jalento: The Bear
Burahl Narnec: The Foreign Trader
Vencarlo Orisini: The Rabbit Prince

Method, based on a reconstruction of how I imagine Nathan arrived at Orisini's pseudonym:
1. Start with alignment;
2. Change moral component to "Neutral";
3. Find highest ability score (choose one if two are equal);
4. Find Harrow card that corresponds to alignment and ability score;
5. Adjust to avoid repeats if necessary.

Female Aasimar Cleric of Iomedae 5

I'd like to point out that I'm building as a bruiser, but given that both Forge and Bear are already taken, I suppose QM would be next in line. Fits with the fact that Emmera is female too :)

Broad satisfaction was all I was hoping to achieve :)

EDIT: oops, missed Pauli! He's The Vision.

Sorry for the inactivity, my pc has broken down tuesday morning and this is the first day I have access to a pc with internet that I have the time and privacy to hang out on the forums.

I had actually hoped to get in a message or that someone could post for me excusing me for the time being.

New pc is on the way but it has taken/will take a few days for it to come into the shop. I'll be able to make a few posts during the daytime, but in the evening I'll probably not be able to post.

Sorry for the downtime, I'll be back to my normal posting in a few days.

Edit:
Also; Welcome to the group Emmera!

Oh my. Did you manage to save your hard drive? If not, are you at least satisfied with your most recent backup?

It's probably not as bad as it first seemed, but some parts are beyond repair.

Power supply and graphics card were broken, now replaced. Hard disks seem to be safe for now.

Female Aasimar Cleric of Iomedae 5

I'm not a hardware expert by any means, but I would imagine the graphics card short-circuited somehow and blew the power box. That or you dropped it I suppose, but the power supply tends to be kind of sturdy.

In any event, glad to hear it's in the process of being fixed. And thanks for the welcome :)

Global Buffs:

Hey folks - happy anniversary :)

It's been a great year with Goffred, Raijinn, and Thaven, and a great nine months with Burahl - I'm looking forward to Emmera's immersion to the group, too.

I'll get us movin' more.

Oh my goodness has it been a year already? That's crazy. :)

Female Aasimar Cleric of Iomedae 5

Just poking my head in to say I'm still here and waiting for the story to catch up or whatever.

Female Aasimar Cleric of Iomedae 5

I actually just finished with my crunch, as it happens. Sorry for dragging my feet :p

I don't have it ported over to my profile yet, but if you happen to have a (free) account over at RPGCrossing you can access it here. One thing to note vs my earlier RPing is that I realized I mis-read the magic weapons table, and a +1 longsword would be over the 1/3 WBL limit for initial purchases at level 4.

I also need to roll for hitpoints, presuming you aren't using an alternate ruling. Doing that here:

HP lvl 2-4: 3d8 ⇒ (4, 6, 2) = 12

What? Half-Elf Writer 1 / Dancer 1 / Chemist 1

Do let me know when you finish porting, then :)

Female Aasimar Cleric of Iomedae 5

That should be it, let me know if anything seems off or missing or anything. Description/Backstory should be up sometime soon.

Sorry I have been neglecting this game. Bad couple of weeks. Will get a post up hopefully tonight.

Female Aasimar Cleric of Iomedae 5

Sorry for being a little difficult here, but clerics of Iomaede tend to be pretty paladin-like. Staunch LG combatants against the forces of evil and all that.

Male Chelaxian Void Wizard 5

That's...not as big an obstacle as you might think :P

EDIT @ Raijinn, apropos of the IC thread: "I never saw through that scoundrel Malinowsky." :P

EDIT @ All: Happy Pesach!

Female Aasimar Cleric of Iomedae 5

If you'd prefer I archive binge, go ahead and say so here before making the IC post, no need to waste any more time than need be :p

Female Aasimar Cleric of Iomedae 5

I could use the TL;DR version of the 'public face' of the Trinia events. Emmera's not *that* cloistered, she'll know at least the general facts from gossip she overhears.

Female Aasimar Cleric of Iomedae 5

Jokes aside, I think we're all ready to move on? I'm fine to keep Emmera yapping, but I think we've just about exausted everything short of me asking about personal back-stories in response (and that doesn't really fit Emmera).

Global Buffs:

I'll get Eries into the scene in a moment, then :) (By a moment, I mean either tonight or tomorrow)

Male Chelaxian Void Wizard 5

Problems with playing a revolutionary #27: after a while, when NPCs come to you asking to put down violent iconoclasts looking to upset the established order, you start responding "what's the problem?"
