"Your feeble witchery won't save you from your fate, flayed man. I'll hang your skinless corpse from my mammoth's standard and wear your hide as a cloak." Snarling, Rhok follows the retreating arcanist, his hair and cloak fluttering wildly.

5' step to I10 before attacking with my mace. Attack roll: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6, damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6. BTW, did we (i.e. me, Ghroth and Kira) hit with our attacks?

EDIT: Jesus H. Christ. My proposal: Ghroth takes takes my old square, as he has reach; Mulluq moves to I9 and get hackin'. Can Kira attack him from G10?

I didn't give a coordinate because I wasn't sure how far Jod could move up the stairs and ready an action. Half his movement rate? That would put him in I7, I believe.

Yes, you all hit. Well, apart from that last one. Clearly your purple patch with the dice roller has come to an end.

Mulluq.

Seeing as they have him at a distinct disadvantage, Mulluq doesn't quite feel the man is a threat enough to warrant delivering a smite unto him. He does have a few words, though, "You let the darkness of your heritage consume you, and I cannot allow that to stand, nor you." He moves forward into the small space that is open, and strikes out with the hero Yaniel's sword.

No, Kira can't hit at reach, but I can't see this threat being around much longer;)

With those words, Mulluq runs Faxon through. The tiefling vomits blood and falls to the floor.

Faxon down. Combat is not over. Remain on initiative.

Seeing where this is headed, Sol wishes Mulluq luck, then moves to take himself out of the way of the doors and better cover the stairs. He readies his bow.

move to L7. Is there an interior wall to those stairs? Better put, does Sol have line of fire all the way up the stairs?

Ghroth makes the doors vibrate but they don't open.

Jod, Perception check DC 15:

Spoiler:
You hear the rapid chanting of spells from the room above.

It is also Jod's turn.

Whispering to his friends, "Sounds like spellcasting up there." He moves up the stairs so he is as near the top as possible without being visible to the two on the ground floor. He shouts, "What in the Nine Hells! He's gone crazy! Get him away from me!"

Just hoping to sow some doubt.

Kira.

Kira sheaths her sword, and switches to her light crossbow, which she then holds ready.

Faxon has checked out of this combat, so Rhok, then Mulluq.

Male Human (Kellid) Oracle of the Apocalypse 3

Rhok nods at Mulluq. "Let's ruin their day, too. I'll follow you," he mutters, pointing his mace up the stairs.

Move to L9. Mulluq's next.

Mulluq looks down at the crumpled form of the felled tiefling, but is jolted from the beginnings of a wallow, based on the similarities, by Rhok's call to action. He snarls with a baring of fangs and makes haste toward the top of the stairs, moving as far and as fast as his hoofs will allow him.

Disregarding all subtlety or ploys, double-move up to the square right in front of Jod (I8)

The double doors are abruptly yanked open. Standing there is a creature that looks like some sort of muscular but rangy humanoid crossed with a goat afflicted by a particularly virulent case of mange. It snarls and stabs with a jagged-bladed polearm at Kira.

Ok, cool.

Kaygan knows that a schir will be quite a formidable opponent. He thinks it likely that such a demon will be somewhat resistant to the bite of mundane weapons, but he can’t recall whether or not they are known to have a particular resistance to magic. Taking a risk, he opens his mouth in a silent scream as he unleashes a spell that he thinks the fiend may be vulnerable to.

Casts ear piercing scream at the schir. DC 14 Fort save, or it takes 2d6 ⇒ (2, 1) = 3 points of damage and is dazed for one round. On a successful save it takes half damage and is not dazed. Spell resistance applies if relevant.

SR check 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Fort save 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

The creature flinches as Kaygan's spell hits it, but it keeps its faculties together.

So, it's, er, Kaygan's turn.

Hp: 21 of 21; Effects active:

Well, 1 point of damage, that was worthwhile! So it does have SR? Do I need to make a caster level check then to overcome it? EDIT: Caster Level check (inc. bonus from Unstoppable Magic trait): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 if needed.

Hp: 21 of 21; Effects active:

Disappointed (but not particularly surprised) at the impact of his spell, Kaygan tries to think of something that such a creature might be less likely to resist. He pulls a scroll from his pack and quickly reads the magic formula, focusing on the demon’s weapon.

Move action, retrieve scroll. Standard action, cast grease from scroll, targeting the halberd. The schir gets a DC 14 Reflex save or it drops the weapon. SR does not apply to this one.

Schir's Reflex save 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

Not Kaygan's day.

The schir manages to maintain a grip on its weapon.

Hannik and Ghroth.

Hp: 21 of 21; Effects active:

Hannik's eyes nearly bug out when the demon swings open the door. For some reason the cultists actually hiding out down here with a demon in their midst really caught her off guard. Stumbling forward in haste she blurts out the words to protect Ghroth from its cursed claws, and a runic sigil flares as she makes contact.

Ghroth slashes out with claws and attempts to spear it with his tongue, but the demon is too fast and the most he comes away with is a tuft of fur.

Hannik moves to K11 and casts Mage Armor on Ghroth (AC21)
Ghroth 5' steps to J12 and embarrasses himself :(

Jod looks down at the beast and up the last few steps. "Mulluq. They need you down there. I will keep these two distracted."

This needs to be quick.

Is there a door between the ground floor and the stairs? Is it closed? Does it appear that it could be locked or blocked from our side?

If there is no door or the door is open, how far can I proceed up without stepping into view of the two on the ground floor?

Jod uses the scale's gift to enchant his sword. Align weapon - good, 19 minutes. I would do it for Mulluq, but I believe he has a more effective option available already.

There is no door. You can get to G8 without being seen.

Sol stares in disbelief as a fine shot proves incapable of harming the demon.

"Cold iron. We need cold iron against it."

Which may not be correct. It might have DR(something else).

Jod's standard action is to activate the scale to make his falchion good-aligned. With Quick Draw, readying the action is free, but his move action is to move to G8, which would have allowed him to draw, anyway. He lacks enough actions to ready an attack, however, so that will have to be in the normal flow.

It would appear that Something and Something Else are up next.

OK, we've gone multi-level again. Map updated. Note I've shifted the original basement map slightly, so your coordinate (but not your position) may have changed. In the ground floor map, the dark grey areas are piles of collapsed rubble.

The two cultists appear at the top of the stairs and peer down. They spot Jod and the woman casts a spell and yells, "Flee!" The man stabs with his glaive.

Will save DC 14 or Jod has to move away on his turn as far as he can.
The man attacks with his glaive. The curvature of the stairs imposes a -2 penalty to this attack.
