Ah, if only Fate points could be used to re-roll damage dices.

I know in some WH40k games, the DOS on a WS/BS roll can be used to substitute one of the dice rolls, not sure if that rule is in OW too. FOr example, you get 3 DOS on the BS roll and the Damage dice are 1 and 4, you can switch out the 1 for 3. Makes lots of sense too, b/c getting a good roll for a shot and then getting really bad dmg rolls sucks. Up to the GM though.

Silver Crusade

I wasn't aware of that particular house rule, but I'll think about.

It's a rule from the books, you know how things are tucked away in many wh40k texts, I haven't read OW like I have the others, so maybe it's there, maybe it's not.

News to me too, but he seems to be right:

from the attack roll. If a natural 10 is rolled on any Damage die,
there is a chance of Righteous Fury.

Silver Crusade

Okay then, we'll run with that going forward, but I'd rather not retcon the grenade already exploded.

Cool, glad to hear thats something consistent across all WH40k games.

Roughly how far away are the grots (from Cormaeg) at the moment?

Silver Crusade

Other side of the trench, so ~15 meters

Damn, so not possible to get close enough to torch the little runts this round then.
Might have to let them run then.

Hi,

I think I'm going to have to drop. Things have become more hectic at work than I expected, and it's not going to be easier over Christmas when I also have family commitments. Also, I hadn't anticipated how hard learning a new rules system would be. Sorry. But please feel free to kill off Ingrid in a way that brings home the violence inherent in the 40k universe.

Yours (apologetically),

Jon

Well, that's too bad, never fun to lose a fellow player.

Silver Crusade

Speaking of Christmas break, I will be leaving on a trip Thurday night, will be gone for a week. I'll try to keep posting but if there's radio silence that'll be why.

Roger Roger, I am thinking that things will be a bit slow overall during the Holidays.

By the way, do we look for a replacement or go on as is?

Silver Crusade

I'll post into the Recruitment, but given that its the Christmas season the squad might be shorthanded for a little while.

Silver Crusade

So while the Ork and Grots are still extant, I think we can just fast forward through the next minute of mop-up if that's okay with everyone. Just mark off 1d6 additional shots from your current power cells and we'll call it even, there's still almost two whole platoons in that lander waiting for an all-clear...

Silver Crusade

Just a head's up, on a trip with the wife so I might be an infrequent poster over the next week or so. Happy holidays, all!

Silver Crusade

Hey y'all my parents are visiting me so I'm showing them around Hamburg (& Berlin tomorrow) so I might be a little slow to post for the next few days. I'll do my best, but thanks in advance for your patience!

Male Human Retired Fleet Admiral

Greetings. I will be your incoming operator. Will update profile after family dinner =^^=

Male Human Retired Fleet Admiral

I updated some of it, can someone just double check where i need to edit things, like traits? I know those are incorrect

Silver Crusade

Welcome Axel! If you have the rulebook, the traits for Fortress Worlds are on pg60, and all the other rules (regiment, commander, etc) follow immediately after.

Male Human Retired Fleet Admiral

Will have a look on my tablet then. Thanks =^^=

Male Human Retired Fleet Admiral

Okay, i believe everything is okay now. One last check please?

Silver Crusade

Looks good! Just to note, the Hated Enemy is [Chaos], but you're ready to roll! Feel free to jump in when you have the time.

Happy New Year to everyone!

Male Human Retired Fleet Admiral

So just start posting or ...?

Male Human Retired Fleet Admiral

And a blessed new year to you all

Silver Crusade

Sure! "You hear the clank of boots on steel, and a young man's voice calls behind you 'Sgt. MacCammon! I'm Axel, Lt. Bremen said I was supposed to fill out your squad!"

Something along those lines.

Silver Crusade

So I won't be back home for a few more days yet, but I've got a map that I can try to scan up so we can try the "dots to represent ourselves" map system. Apologies for the delay!

Silver Crusade

Okay...so the map looks like hot garbage, so we'll stick with theater of the mind for now. Sincere apologies for the long wait for nothing.

Silver Crusade

MacCammon & Black will finish out Turn 1

Silver Crusade

I'll say that grenades can be bundles together, but it takes a Tech-Use test to set up the timers for a simultaneous detonation. I'm down with Tech-Use allowing pretty much anything given time & sufficient parts: shaped charges, proximity mines, barrel bombs, whatever you can think up.

For this particular attack I'll treat it as two separate grenade attacks. Also note that these two Orks are about 12m apart from each other, and the closest one is rushing towards Jankins

Mhhh, I thought them closer together.
But we'll se how it goes xD

Explosive handling are ok for me.
Those are things one needs to talk and think about, as the books are not even remotely helpful xD

Silver Crusade

You did--of the cluster of three you've already killed the two wounded by the rocket. The unwounded one is the closest to you, the one headed towards Movano started later (he spent his readied action firing at Locke).

Male Human Retired Fleet Admiral

Im back folks =^^=

Silver Crusade

Welcome back Black!

Locke you are up now.

Let's stomp these green gits!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Happy Chinese New Years everyone.

Gong Xi fa cai. I think that's right, a friend taught it to me.

That's right in Chinese.

Are we on a new round? Don't want Locke to hold things up.

Back from Chinese New Years holidays. In the countryside without running water and bad internet. Hope I didn't hold up things too much.

Male Human Retired Fleet Admiral

Hey folks. Just saying work is putting me under a lot of stress. Will be back to posting by the weekend

Silver Crusade

No worries, the current wait is my fault. I've been busy with work stuff.

Ah, I think that image is broken, GM.

Silver Crusade

Ayup, tried it three different ways, not sure what's wrong. Copypasta to a new tab? I tried that & it works, too late for me to edit it now.

Silver Crusade

Sorry about the wait there, not sure where two of our players have gone, but for the next few days of in-game time you'll be getting the feel for the depot and settling into your routines, getting to know the garrison, etc. I've got a pile of work to get done tonight but I'll try to get a solid description of the base & important personnel up tomorrow. If there's anything that your characters want to try to accomplish over 3-4 days, of course let me know.

Silver Crusade

Alright so here are the modifiers for Logistics tests, seeing as how a request for Krak Missiles has been made.

Base Modifier (Enlisted Soldier): 10
Multiple Regiments on this Front +10
Less than 3 Months in Theater: -10
Front Active 1-5 Years: +20
Violent Impasse -10
Krak Missile =Scarce (+/- 0 for this front)

Total logistics value for this is 20, so it is possible (though unlikely) to obtain a Krak missile at this time. Roll it, Sam!

krak missile?: 1d100 ⇒ 96 Hahaha .... nope ;-)
