Dareon Niroden |

Dareon pivots, realizes he's still flanking an ant with Tanjvats, and laughs. "Really anticipating my needs before I even have them, Tanj!"
He swings his sword at the ant, glad that they're finally having some success.
Shortsword Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 2 = 13
Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 3 + (2) = 6

Aardvark DM |

Kascio, the ants in Red are dying/stabilized. Not a threat.
Kascio stabs at thew ant mostly surrounded by the lot of them, and his blade manages to find just the right spot in the neck region of the creature to put it down like most of the others.
My bad Dareon, I should have updated that Kascio dropped the ant you attacked. Will move you to range with the last one for your attack.
Dareon moves to assist Tanjvats against the sole remaining ant that they face off against.

Tanjvats |

Tanjvats began to feel Dareon's sense of joy as the tide turned against the ants. He felt the need to try a little jig as he stepped further around the ant to flank with Penance.
mace: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 2 = 9
But he stumbled, and he was unable to bring his mace to bear as the ant continued to lunge and snap.
You idiot, focus on your work, not having fun.

Aardvark DM |

Both Dareon and Tanjvats' attacks against the ant are ineffective, and the single-minded nature of the ant keeps it from recognizing potential threat as it continues after its previous target. It pays off for the creature as it is able to sink its mandibles hard into the half-orc's soft flesh.
Ant 2 1d20 + 3 - 9 ⇒ (3) + 3 - 9 = -3
Ant 3 1d20 + 3 - 12 ⇒ (9) + 3 - 12 = 0
Ant 4 1d20 + 3 - 7 ⇒ (3) + 3 - 7 = -1

Faedrin Lantherion |

Penance swings his cumbersome sword at the ant then shuffles nearer to Tanjvats after (5ft step).

Esme holds backs, still scanning the room for more ant holes!

Aardvark DM |

As Penance once again fails to deliver a solid hit with his overlarge weapon, the battle prowess of Faedrin and Kascio work in conjunction to put a stop to the last of the ants harassing the group. No new ants have emerged since this last one, and as the excitement of the battle fades, the room drifts back to a peaceful calm.
Battle over

Tanjvats |

Blood surged from Tanjvats's mouth as the last ant crushed his belly with it's pincers. The blows of his comrades shuddered through the insect's body and as it fell, it ripped even more skin and flesh away.
The half-orc staggered, trying to keep his footing in the slick pool of his own blood.
"They need to die. All the way", he explained, waving his arm weakly to show the area to be cleared. Limping towards each ant body, he gave feeble blows with his mace until they were all dead.
Once that was complete, he tried to focus his swimming thoughts on healing himself and Dareon.
He slurred some garbled prayer, his eyes closed. "Protege of Curchanus, or Slayer, I don't care, make whole these bodies for your needs."
Channel positive energy to get me and Dareon, but no living monsters.: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Faedrin Lantherion |

I'll take a dip in the channel pool too, Tanj! =)
Faedrin sighs as the last ant falls, it's massive mandibles finally coming to rest. Sheathing his rapier, he puts both hands on his hips and bends for forward to catch his breath. "Haaaaaah. I suppose all these critters are preferrable to fighting through lycanthropic tower girls at least." He watches as Tanjvats ensures the ants stay down, then nods to the half orc gratefully as the small gash on his arm knits. Looking then to the others, the elf nods to the far side of the room as he renews his cantrip, "Shall we press onward then?"
As the group begins to gather themselves, Faedrin gives a few cursory glances down into the ant hills as they pass.

Dareon Niroden |

Dareon thanks Tanjvats for the healing, and then he plops down on the ground, taking out a few alchemical reagents. "Give me a minute." he says, searching for different alchemical ingredients to make a potion.
He ends up with a small vial filled with pink liquid, which he immediately drinks.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
"Ready."

Aardvark DM |

Esmeralda excuses herself, making some complaints about not being certain if this was really what she signed up for, and that she has shelled out more to Penance than she is even likely to get in return. With a mention of asking for a different assignment, she excuses herself, and the eidolon follows her silently from the room.
What are you guys doing?

Aardvark DM |

Yes, there is, the tunnel extends and turns south. I saw the perception, but you said as you pass, so I wasn't sure which ones you were passing until I knew where you were going.

Aardvark DM |

As everyone gathers up, Kascio gives the mounds a look over. Digging out some of the openings or sides on the huge insect mounds reveals nothing but dirt and openings into the mounds themselves. There is especially nothing of value within.
