At the temple, like his companions, Zevon complies to the orders of the nervous guards and hands over his weapons. He follows Sir Jaren inside.
Hearing the comments of Captain Skellerang, Zevon remarks:
"Well, Captain, after our meeting, we weren't looking for trouble, but trouble seems to have found us. On our way to the temple we came upon a robbery in progress, which turned out to be some LAst Laugh thugs attacking priest Laro, and we helped him. I don't know what you already know from priest Laro, but we certainly can give you a more complete account."

The captain replies;Well then lets get comfortable shall we. A womans voice says; Then follow me to my Private chambers,I would like to know more myself. She stands about 5'6"in hieght slender, has bnlonde hair, blue eyes, and fair skin.Quite easy on the eyes ,but appears to worried and very stresed.Follow me please. And give back thier equipment Sir Jaren.
Engineer #3
"Very well. I follow your lead."
To Sir Jaren: "Thank you for your professionalism and respect. Too often we are treated as sub-sapient creatures due to our unfortunate history."
Engineer gratefully accepts his equipment back and follows the priestess.

Sorry for going so long without posting. I literally saw no indication of additional posts in gameplay from late last week until late last night. Very strange & more than a little bit aggravating.
From the point 'Lilly' was determined to still be alive until now, Beauregard has maintained what seems an uncharacteristic silence, observing all actions & words closely, but responding only to the degree absolutely necessary & only the minimum necessary at that. As the company follows the priestess into her chambers, his face shows the first expression in some time.
At Captain Skellerang's word's Beauregard's eyebrow & lip twitch in something resembling a smirk. "We would hardly be doing what you asked of us if we weren't finding ourselves in some contretemps, now would we Captain? As I feel quite certain the others will explain better than I, we have questions, some of which may in themselves be answers, for you." With the last his gaze rests firmly on their hostess.

As Sir Jearen nods his head to #3'scomment.He bows to you all,as he leaves he says,Welcome to Cauldron
Once you all enter Jenna's chambers a few servants set out tea and snacks on a side table in the living area. Jenna saysWould you like some tea or smothing to eat? Before I ask my request, what have you found? The good captain told me earlier this evening a group of adventures were hired. All of you correct. Tell your tale please.
Daxur
"Well met, Jenna. We are indeed the company that the Captain hired to investigate your disappeared orphans. We had met with the Captain and were in fact coming to see you when we saw Priest Laro being accosted. We intervened, quite expertly I must say, and subdued the hired thugs and their leader, Jilly. We then questioned them about their activies. Jilly was not very forthcoming, but we did glean that the orphans were taken due to the fact that they had birthmarks, possibly even Dragonmarks."
Daxur pauses, sips some tea and remarks "Did I forget anything?

whoos jilly?
Engineer #3
"last laugh organization has fostered terror cells in Cauldron. The extent of their reach is unknown. Cell members identify with face paint, and seem willing to use unaware patsys to perform violence. Reasons for child abductions still unknown, but targeting depends on unknown factors."
Daxur
Daxur beams at Korihor, then turns to Jenna "Ah yes, I did forget. The thugs and their mistress were all members of the Last Laugh and the assault was intended as a response to your church's announcement that you were going to find out what happens to the children...a warning,as they say." Daxur then leans over and takes some crackers from the table and sits back nibbling, looking ever so pleased with himself.

"As stated, a clandestine terror organization by the name of 'The Last Laugh'. Their goals and motivations remain unknown for the moment."
Engineer reflects upon just what he knows so far.
"Possible further intelligence may be gathered from 'Lily'. Additional operations geared towards infiltration and compromising the structure of this organization may prove useful as well."
Beauregard Jorasco
"Very well then. Precisely what is at hand? You recommended we come here, to speak with Priestess Jenna, in order to begin this inquiry. We are doing so. What awareness have you to share with us?" With this last statement Beauregard is once more directing his attention fully upon Jenna.

Very well,as you may know four childern have gone missing from Latern Street orphanage about three nights ago. Thier names are Deakon,Evelyn,Lucinda, and Terrem. The orphanage has seperate bed chambers for boys and the girls. None of the other childern or staff memebers saw anything or heard anything. The windows are barred and the doors have excellent locks. And the childern are locked in thier rooms to prevent mischief. We need to bring the kidnappers to justice. Also I proclaimed this evening to all in Cauldern that the Host would return the childern and bring in the culprits.

Jenna says:That I do not know. The head mistress has those records. What i can tell is,the childern went missing three nights ago. The other childern or the staff did not see or anything. The windows are barred and excellent locks on the doors. The childern are locked in thier rooms to prevent midnight mischief. Also the boys have a seperate bed chambers from the girls. And we supply food and clothing as well medical supplys. We tend to the sick childern when we need too.

"A most reasoned, rational, and unfamiliar statement. I appreciate the sentiment and wish more humans were as honest and forthright."
"On a more serious note, what can you tell us of the headmistress at the orphanage? As well, what of the children themselves? Are there any reasons you suspect one or more individuals in these crimes?"
Engineer #3
Engineer pays no mind to humans fidgeting. This seems like a common occurrence among them, and something to be accepted as "normal."
Unless she appears in medical distress or otherwise injured, of course. If it's just normal fidgets, then no, Engineer doesn't really notice, even though he sees it.

"Breland does have a reputation as one of the more...
egalitarian, of the Five Kingdoms, Engineer #3. In this case, it seems that reputation is deserved."

the headmistress is loved by the childern and staff.A loveable woman with a heart of gold. She is of age. I dont visit much and they have classes so they can have a better life.Until now didnt realize there would be anyone who could do harm here in Cauldron. And the Captain revealed about the other missing people and thier missing property.

you just see her fidget before she suddenly leaves
give me a sense motive

She does not know where she ends up, or what exactly happens. I don't wish to role-play it here (well I do...) but I recognize that that would be selfish and take away from the rest of the party if we got on different time-lines. So...I assume I'll wake up tomorrow...somewhere.
Zevon Rembrandt
In Jenna's living room Zevon takes some tea and listens as the others tell of the events of the last hours and the knwoledge gained.
After a while, Zevon remarks:
"To me it's clear that the involvement of the Last Laugh - perhaps on account of someone else - and the locks & bars rule out that the kids might have run away."
He continues
"perhaps these questions are better answered by the headmistress of the orphanage, but were the missing children friends of each other? Did outsiders (people not related to the orphanage) show interest to these children prior to their disappearance? Did they disappear in the same night?"
Zevon Rembrandt
"Captain, I am glad that you are also here: perhaps you can tell us some more about the missing persons. Lilly, the leader of our captive Last Laugh members, mentioned the birthmark for the missing adults as well. Do you know of any link between the missing children and the missing adults?"
Also, mistress Jenna just mentioned somehting about missing property related to the missing adults: has something been stolen in the orphanage? Does this mean the adults disappeared from their homes as well?
Zevon explains: I'm trying to find some pattern here: the birthmark -dragonmark or something else- already seems to be one common item in these disappearances.Perhaps there are more
