Woot!!

DTK: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
1d4 ⇒ 1
1d6 ⇒ 4
Jalriel finally connects, hewing through one of the kobolds, ending its life. Azzakan is hit for 4 points and must make a DC 16 save or take 1d4 ⇒ 4 points of damage and 1d4 ⇒ 3 of DEX damage.
Desna's healing glow flares weakly in this evil place, healing a few minor cuts of the heroes. Variel misses the mark.
Azzakan-I made the assumption you decided to intimidate last round and used your miss this round.
Three killer kobolds remain!
...next round.
"Desna grant me the blessing of your healing!"

Exclude 4 of the dead/most wounded kobolds.
I think Clint slipped me the bad dice!

I rob another kobold of the need for air...

Jalriel hammers through another foe, dropping a kobold where it stood. Variel misses the mark and Daedeloth implores help from his goddess, but the response is muted at best. Azzakan is stabbed for 5 points and must make a DC16 save or take 1d4 ⇒ 4 in damage and 1d4 ⇒ 3 in DEX damage.
...the fray continues!
Out of channels, swing away!

VarielAOO: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Seeing the elf with the huge blade slice through another of their companions, the two remaining kobold warriors decide they have had enough and dive for the chain that hangs into the pit in the center of the room. Variel misses his AOO.
Daedeloth, Jalriel, and I assume Azzakan can each take a AOO at the retreating kobolds.

Kobold on a chain, a fine delicacy

Clint and Don,
Can you game on Saturday May 10th?
I will be in town and Chris and Gabe are available.

Jalriel hacks through the retreating form of a once formidable foe; the one kobold body falling in a slack heap as the other makes it to the chain and slithers down into darkness.
The party slowly collects itself most members burning from poison filled wounds...
***end of combat***
I am down 4 Dex. Also down 3 HP.
I have no channels left and 1 spell.
How is everyone else?
I think we need to find a place to rest.
Cast detect magic around the room.
Male Half-orc Paladin/1
I'm down 2 con, and 15 hp.
Cure on Jalriel.
cure: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Male Elf Druid/1 AC:20 HP:24/24
Variel was untouched and has wand charges remaining. Not sure on the total HP loss for Azzakan.
"Var, Jal is still wounded, maybe 1 use of the wand."
Male Half-orc Paladin/1
No, my rule of thumb is if you need less than max, you're good to go. I'm only down 7 now. (I hate to waste healing, if he rolls an 8 I feel like I'm wasting it.)

Sorry friend Azzakan, I'm afraid there isn't much I can do about your loss of physical dexterity but with the help of this wand I can heal your wounds.
Up to you guys whether we rest or press forward. I am out of channels and spells. Can swing my Morningstar, but that's about it.
Female Human hmam
I am AC 17 HP 22. I still have 5 bombs and I can make some essence for us except Variel since he has his wand. That would leave me with one formula/spell.
Do we think the three kids will live through the next couple of hours or be sacrificed today?
Female Human hmam
I say we go for it. We cannot allow the kids to die. We must proceed. Just my opinion.
Female Human hmam
Actually I can only give one essence away at a time. I would have to make one and then give it to you when you need healing.
Don & Clint,
How about August 9, 16, or 23 for next D&D?
Male Half-orc Paladin/1
I should be good, any of the three.
Female Human hmam
I should be OK for those dates as we'll.
Great, I will purchase a plane ticket for mid August and let you guys know, maybe later tonight.
Ok, I will be in town Aug 8-17. So we can game Aug 9 or 16.
Ok, Gabe has proclaimed Aug 9th the next D&D, so mark your calendars, no excuses!
Back to the game: Look down the chain, how far down does it go? What is below? Any other exits to this room? Any treasure on the dead kobolds? Detect magic.
Male Elf Druid/1 AC:20 HP:24/24
The chain goes about 30'. At the bottom you can see a large cauldron that you assume the kobolds use to traverse back and forth. No treasure on the creatures outside of short swords.
Any other exits to this room besides the door we came in and the chain?
Male Elf Druid/1 AC:20 HP:24/24
There are double doors to the South and a natural passage winding to the East.
"Let's check the doors to the South first. Jal do you want to lead."

Female Human hmam
I listen closely....

I hear a discussion between a "Kerrdremak" and other kobolds. This Kerrdremak is talking about how poorly the Truescale Tribe is being run by the leader Merlokrep. All Merlokrep's decisions lead to disaster. The plan for sacrificing and loss of several children being one of them.
"Maybe we can ally with Kerr, we can help him overthrow Merl in exchange for him giving us the children. Since you can talk with them, you will have to do the negotiating Azz."
If we decide to do this:
I will cast Guidance on Azz so he gets a +1 on diplomacy roll with the kobolds.
And I will also use my domain power to "bestow luck" on Azz, that way he can reroll all d20 rolls in a round and take the better result. That way he can roll diplomacy twice and take better result.
Female Human hmam
To group: I was thinking the same thing, but don't forget kobolds are evil creatures. Can we truly trust them? My diplomacy is +5, will be +6. I will give it a go.
