Lyraath
After hearing about doors automatically locking, Lyraath steps just outside the room back into the hallway... just to be safe.
He also offers, "I could perhaps try teleporting you out. Has anyone tried that? Rather than approaching the exit, you could just," he makes a loud popping noise with his cheek, "and appear out here." Lyraath shrugs to show his lack of faith in this idea, but at least it was an idea he supposes.
Godric Alden
”One moment.” Under the suspicion that the area itself might be consecrated and not just the sofa, Godric blasted apart everything around it. Not stopping until all evidence of the furniture, the floor, even the wall behind it, were obliterated.
GM Infinity
As you start chipping away at the walls, you step into a little foot catch and feel your feet bump up against something. It seems there was a little cache under the sofa. Clearing away the fluff and timber, you find more than 1000 coins at a glance, a potion, a scroll, a few pieces of jewelry, and notice the pommel of a greatsword just barely peeking out of the pile as well. "Oh my!" The halfling exclaims. "Now how did that get there?"
Godric Alden
Godric walked over, bent down, and began to pull out the greatsword.
"A very good question. Was that the reason for the enchantment on the couch? It is worth trying to see if you can leave now, but it is also just as likely that the enchantment was here to protect this. Most odd that you would be imprisoned on such a cache."
Only have a normal longsword, so any item without the two handed property would be an upgrade. On a closer look, what does Godric find?
Urth Stormraven
Urth finally replies to Godric, "What the ruk. Her little, rukking sofa has the strongest rukking magical aura I've have ever encountered in my entire rukking life. Its aura is unique and exotic, not fitting into any of the rukking schools of magic I've trained in."
Urth thinks the halfling is an illusion and the sofa might be the prison of a magical creature.
save vs illusion: 1d20 ⇒ 20
GM Infinity
Urth, nothing seems illusory here, but with your detect magic still actively probing you notice it must've been the cache under the sofa, and not the sofa itself. Perhaps likewise for Godric's divine sense, it was something in this stash that triggered the response.
Detect magic is 10 minutes concentration duration
And in particular, when Godric pulls the greatsword from the pile of coins, it is quite obvious this is what was giving you the overpowering feeling.
Even without detect magic, someone could tell this blade is the work of a celestial god or legendary demon prince. Its hilt seems to be made of 1000 tiny crystal fragments all arranged into a mosiac. The blade itself is not metal at all but rather looks like a piece of the night sky plucked from heaven. Gazing into it you see the swirling of galaxies and stars...the infinity of the void. Picture of sword on map slides. :D
Godric Alden
Godric picked up the blade and held it up.
”Is this...?”
Is it what I think it is? How do we learn what the blade does/is?
Urth Stormraven
Can Urth identify with Detect Magic by squinting into the overwhelming magic aura?
GM Infinity
It seems to be something of great power and matches the description of the artifact Blackrazor. You could try the identify spell, or spend a short rest to study it. If you wanted to use it, you would need to spend a different short rest to attune to it.
Meanwhile the halfling is excited to leave, moving to the door "So, the magic is broken? I just step out now?"
Urth Stormraven
»I don’t see anything holding you. Who are you? » Urth asks the halfling.
Godric Alden
”This might be...I need to attune with my goddess. Do not disturb me unless someone needs to die.”
With that Godric picked up the blade, carried it to a corner, and stood there. As still as a statue, unmoving, not breathing. He had to know...
Godric Alden
Nope! Because I hate alignment and try to avoid it whenever possible. But if I had to choose it’d be lawful neutral. Used to be LG in life, but now he is a tool of the Raven Queen
GM Infinity
Alright thanks, some stuff interacts with it, especially planar themed things *ahem*.
As Godric embeds himself in the corner the halfling peeks out the door, still unsure "Fesneq is the name. I was captured from Oakhurst years ago, but haven't aged a moment. Is the way out clear? I'm going to go for it!"
Godric Alden
”Go...” Godric hissed. His voice no longer sounded like his own, but rather was a ghostly rasp. Some invisible wind blew his cloak as he bonded himself to the sword. The planar energy of the blade caused it to float beneath his outstretched hand as he concentrated on becoming one with it...
Lyraath
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Lyraath makes sure he is NOT in the room when these things happen.
He’s sure nothing will go wrong, of course, and that it is perfectly safe.
Godric Alden
3 rounds later Godric explodes. Dex saves for everyone in the room due to Mithral shrapnel
Lyraath
Lyraath hit die healing: 3d8 + 3 ⇒ (6, 3, 5) + 3 = 17
So now at 40/45. 3 HD spent
Also uses Strength of Mind to shift his Wisdom save prof to Dex save prof.
Hopefully it doesn't matter, but those don't take effect until after the rest is complete.
Starting at 4th level, you can replace your proficiency in Wisdom saving throws whenever you finish a short or long rest. To do so, choose Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, or Charisma. You gain proficiency in saves using that ability, instead of Wisdom. This change lasts until you finish your next short or long rest.
Narnel Falerathon
Narnel too, was inspecting the door, but from inside the room.
Dex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Narnel has evasion. If successful save gets you 1/2 Damage, he takes none. On another note, did we just lose Godric?
GM Infinity
The halfling thanks you and takes the opportunity to escape, you hear her feet pitter-pattering down the hall into darkness.
Over the hour, you notice the blade slowly changing its form to match Godric's fighting spirit, becoming more the size of a bastard sword. It seems to slip itself into your hand and you feel a voice enter your mind (which only you hear), it sounds as if awakening from a long slumber "...so...the time to feed has come again. Kill them, wielder, and sate my thirst. Return us all to the void..."
Godric, you suddenly feel a rush to your senses and the other PCs take on a faint reddish glow.
Urth Stormraven
With the Detect Ritual up, Urth will study the potion and scroll. I forgot to take Identify.
Then Urth will Arcane Recover a 3rd level spell with the short rest. 3/3
GM Infinity
Urth, you take a little taste of the potion and feel a wave of peace crash across your body, the familiar feeling of a healing potion. greater The scroll is actually a holy document granting the reader protection from fiends.
There is also a magic armor down there. Coin/jewelry: 1,000 ep, 200 pp, four pieces of jewelry.
Urth Stormraven
Urth stows the stuff in his boat and joins everyone outside.
"Can anyone use a holy scroll to protect against fiends? The potion is greater healing. Anyone want it?"
Urth Stormraven
Urth tucks the scroll and potion into his pockets in case they become useful
Narnel Falerathon
Narnel simply moves to take a look at what his companions gather. He turns to Molok.
That should come in handy, big fella.
After a short rest, Narnel peers back into the room with the water and glass walls.
2HD: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (6, 8) + 4 = 18
Well, should we head back around and to the north hallway?
GM Infinity
You guys climb back up the aquarium leaving the strange chamber behind, following the corridor to the north through a strong door.
You enter to quite a sight, water not only flows through this room, it floats!
Entering a hole in the western wall, two feet off the floor, is a stream seemingly suspended in mid-air. It flows out of another hole near the northeast corner. The water is about three feet deep. You can see a few blind cave fish being carried along in the brisk current. On either side of the door are a total of six down-turned kayaks, each able to carry two riders, but there are no paddles to be found.
Urth Stormraven
What kind of bodies float by?
"Ahoy! I'd offer my magical boat. But these rukking canoes should do fine. Who wants to go first with me?" Urth asks.
Godric Alden

My feed wasn’t updating! Sorry I’m late...
As the party walked on, Godric shook his head. Doing that would be...counter productive. Apparently the sword was “intelligent” and could speak to him telepathically. He tried to do the same in return.
And by what name shall I call you, sword?
Godric Alden
Ah.
If Godric could have smiled then he would have.
The Raven Queen bid me find you and take you from this place, with these adventurers. There are two items of power that must be found. Let me say, this is an honor.
To the group, the silent warrior suddenly announced ”This sword thirsts. We must sate it’s hunger soon.”
Urth Stormraven
"Well, there are some humanoids swimming in that floating creek. Maybe they need rukking murdering." Urth replies to the scary guy.
