Lina stands in place, blood dripping from her eyes as she struggles, and then she begins tearing at her own skin with her fingernails, ripping bloody furrows on her forearms.
She screams obscenities, and tears at her own face, gouging more bloody tears in her skin. Finally blood begins to leak from her nose, dripping down over blood frothed lips.
Then finally she cries out in agony and her forehead rips open, white bone shattering outward as a black shard hurtles out of her forehead, leaving a gaping wound.
The bloody black stone glitters on the ground, and Lina falls over backwards. Her nearby weapon and armor vanish.. at least the black plate and lance do. Nearby, there's a massive cracking sound, and the gray fortress begins to crumble back into ruin. The sounds of horses and other creatures rise up as rocks fall on them. The wounded horses and megafauna rip free of suddenly dry rotted tethers and rotting wooden stalls and flee into the forest.
Lina falls back on the ground, staring up vacantly at the sky.
Neri Voler
I'll assume others are rushing forward as well.
A few quick hand-gestures with just one hand, the other on his whip, even as Neri is moving, and Neri places his hand on Lina's bare stomach. Black lines move from her stomach and across her torso, and then the blood that's leaking out turns black, followed by pain... which is likely fine. She was already in pain anyway. But the wounds begin to reknit themselves, slowly. Infernal Healing. 10 hp over a minute.
"That was probably the stupidest thing I've seen anyone do since we got here. And I set a volcano on fire..."
'And now I know why she disemboweled Lina. The Impaler makes sense. Do you have a title? And is the Impaler's gem safe for me to touch?
Lina the Unbroken
Whoops! And here I thought everything would be fine, like when Kong/Jacob gave back their crystals. Still—looks like Minestria took out everything she could. Here's hoping I'm not dead, then.
mdt
...probably... and no...
Lina will have permanent scars from this, not her head, as you'd expect, but bloody teardrops out of each eye, permanently etched into her skin. The gem's price for forcing it in the first place and then trying to force it out...
Lina the Unbroken
Huh, now she's a cop with prison tattoos.
Neri Voler
"Don't touch the gem. We'll have to handle it without directly touching it." he didn't press Lina as watching her survive a train wreck was enough of a reason not to point out how stupid she was. "And Johnny. I doubt he could have told you until he saw it. They... they care about different things. And they're not always apparent. Like... Ptaleon can tell me about the wall, the surrounding area's protections, some things about the gemstones. But he can't really tell me anything about the people. I'm guessing Jacob's gem was a lot more of a people-person, and could likely have told us all about stuff; you don't own a tavern unless you like dealing with people, you know? You're surrounded by traders and wagons... so... traveling salesmen? God of vagabonds and wayward sons? I dunno. I don't really know what each person has in their mixed bag, but they seem to be better at remembering specifics. Just from what I've seen, and people have talked about. Kong's gem knew all about death and dealing with the dead... stuff like that. And it was written in the bones and his zombie things. I'm not really sure what the volcano says for Id. Creation, Destruction, Keep out..." he shrugs, trailing off.
Johnny Slade
After a brief moment of shock, Johnny rushes forward to try to aid Lina, avoiding the bloody gem that burst from her head. He uses what little medical knowledge he has to try to staunch any bleeding. It's questionable how much help he manages to provide though. He's a detective, not an M.E. after all. Man, I hope mine doesn't wind up doin' that ta me. But then, I think, or at least I hope mine isn't a psycho like Lina's seems ta've been.
He grumbles a little under his breath, clearly shaken. "Ya can't go around bein' all 'told ya so' if ya didn't!" He slaps himself, trying to jar himself out of his shock. "Well, now we know not ta remind people they're dead. Not that I would've thought runnin' around half naked would do that..."
Johnny gives the gem an apprehensive look. "Maybe we should bury that thing, so it can't drive anyone else crazy and explode in their face. I could probably move it with mage hand. Too bad that now we can see it it probably can't communicate with us. Otherwise I might try some other spells. Although I still have at least one other plan for tryin' ta get some info outta one."
Luna Rook
As Johnny and Neri help Lina a small orb smacks Lina in the stomach and after a small delay green smoke starts to pour out of it surrounding everything in a mist.

Lina's wounds begin to heal over, from a combination of sources.
Eventually, the wounds are gone, although there's tear shaped red scars at the corner of each eye now. The former warrior doesn't revive though.

A spectral wagon train comes trundling along, rolling over Lina's form. Fortunately for her, it appears they are insubstantial enough to do no damage.
As it enters Johnny's compound, they begin to take on solidity until they merges with a large wooden wagons to the back corner.
An old man that has a strong 'Gipetto' look stands up and stretches. The side of one wagon reads 'Klieve's Musycale Ynstryments & Othor Odd Thyngs'.
Neri Voler
Neri is less interested in making small talk with an instrument salesman than getting Lina to safety.
Neri will see to it that Lina is taken to Hell Village to recover. It's where Luna will be, so it'll be the best care she'd be able to get... which was also where they were going anyway, before Luna tried to kill herself. The fact that she reacted to the magic, and was breathing, meant that she was still alive, at least. He'd also try to get Liisa to bring some fresh fruits, since anything outside of berries was probably difficult to get in the forest.
"Mahb and Jacob are in the big one. Luna has a little one with a few tools. Krona, Slota, and Kong live there." he motioned, "And Arna and Trobit live over here." he motioned, before they entered town. "The church cut out Trobit's tongue when he was little because he might have been able to use magic... we got them, his and his mom's, regrown so he'll have trouble talking understandably. I think it's best not to make a big deal of it, you know?"
"Either way, they've worked hard these last few months to get things set up. You'll probably be able to give them fertilizer to put my volcanic ash to shame." he shrugs, "But it's for the best."
Johnny Slade
Before Johnny helps Neri carry Lina's unconscious form to Hell Village, he asks, "Do we want ta move the gem first? I wouldn't have thought ghost people'd try ta pick 'em up. But then, I wouldn't have thought a strip dance from someone you hate'd remind you that you're dead."
At the village
Well, I guess if we're leaving Lina here, they can't be too hostile towards us 'demons'.
Once he's convinced she's not about to keel over suddenly, Johnny contemplates Lina's predicament. "How long d'ya think she'll be out? If it's long, maybe we should pick up some musical instrument strings from the new guy for her."
Since we kind of jumped timelines before he got an answer, I'll have Johnny ask this again.
Johnny then notices the wall to keep the wildlife out. "Hey, I know animals tend ta be all warped on this side of the glowy wall, but how are they on the other side? Are they normal?"
Liisa Nemi Lampinen
Lina explosion day!
Having never seen quite such a gruesome display in her life, Liisa bites down hard to keep her feelings and stomach in check. Okay, she knows that she is doing! It is not as bad as it looks... Right? As the gem finally exits Liisa watches as the others tend her wounds and the castle crumbles. Almost absent-mindedly, she notes the 'elk' running away. If it leaves, curing it is going to be hard ... Without thinking, she pulls upon her powers and calls out to the animal in a silent irresistible voice Come!
Inspired Spell to cast Call Animal - selecting 'Murderous Elk' :P (cl 6)
Somehow she knew that the animal would obey - and despite its damaged spirit - she knew that it wouldn't harm her as long as the spell was in effect. As so she turned her back to the approaching 'monster' and helped the others help Lina. Only once they managed to put the poor woman into a soft bed and under watchful eyes did she return to the elk. Slowly and carefully she reached out and put a hand on its mule.
"What *are* we going to do with you, my friend?"

"I dunno. The only person who's ever done anything like this made nice before the gem literally exploded from their skull.." Neri frowned. "I don't think there's any worries of anything taking the gem. We'll return it when Lina's awake. She'll need company anyway." Neri sighed.
"As for the murderous animals, these guys balked when I told them the squirrels were like piranha."

Heal: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 8 + 1 = 10
"Honestly? Have have no idea ... Normally, I'd say anyone whom have their skulls explode typically don't wake up at all ..." Liisa swallows. But those rules don't apply here right? "... but she is tough. And there isn't a gaping hole in her head. But we should probably pick up that instrument for her just to be sure. A violin, wasn't it ?"
While they were in the village, Liisa would hope to be introduced to all the villagers. Especially that one that knew a bit more about the gems inside her!
mdt
I can't really do the introductions to the villagers until someone actualy, you know, introduces them. :) It can affect how they are treated by the NPCs, who introduces them, what they say, etc. I've been waiting for Neri/Luna/Lina to do the intros for a couple of days now.
The elk stamps it's feet and huffs, snapping at Liisa, but not quite biting her. It doesn't seem to like her or anyone else very much at the moment.
...not physical... spirit... heal... spirit...
Neri Voler
And Neri has been waiting on one of the brood to notice the party!
"Alright, let's head to the Inn. Mahb is most likely to be there, and she can summon her brood that way. That's probably the quickest way to round everyone up... plus that's probably the best place to take Lina. Probably the only place with an extra bed." He continues forward Possibly with the help of an Elk.
As he hits the edge of the town, he calls out, "Anybody home?" But continues to head for the remodeled inn. "We've brought some new folks!" he calls out, right after.
Liisa Nemi Lampinen
Village
"All right." Liisa trails Neri towards the inn. *Real* people, but still people from another world! She felt a little bubbly with excitement. When they entered and Neri introduced them, she settled for a simple smile and wave procedure followed by a "Hello! I'm Liisa!"
With the Elk
How ... How do I heal a spirit? Liisa tilts her head to the side, giving the creature a thoughtful glance. Maybe...
Inspired spell: Speak with Animal
"I will try and cure what ails you, soothe your tormented soul. But you must cooperate - for the path to salvation is yet shrouded and uncertain."
Woah! I really *do* start to sound like a witch or something ... Unsure how to proceed, Liisa conjures up more of her powers, nearly draining her reserves empty in the process. If 'mere' magic could solve this, she'd take care of it now and here!
Inspired spell: Soothing Word & Lesser Restoration
Hmm ... The glimmer of an idea took form in her mind. Neri said ... When the priest started hurting the folk - he reached out and marked them. He simply touched them and willed it. I wonder ... Taking a deep breath, Liisa steeled herself and reached out and placed a hand firmly on the forehead of the elk. Summoning all her willpower, she tried to reach out with *something*.
Will?: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 8 + 1 = 22
Lina the Unbroken
Lina's never actually talked to anyone in town, aside from a single afternoon spent drinking alone at the inn. She was always more interested in the ghosts.
Neri Voler
Okay, so. I need to know. What order did all of this junk actually happen in. I'm usually good at stuff like this, but at this point, I don't know if Lina tried to kill herself before our initial group is going to meet mahb or what. I'm -completely- lost. Let me know that, and then I'll be -happy- to continue roleplaying. Basically, do we have a bloody Mina with us? [Y/N]
Liisa Nemi Lampinen
I think, as stated, we do have an bloody Lina with us Y.
However, it might be easier for all the continuity to say that she did that *after* our intro tour into the village!
Neri Voler
Neri leads the group to the inn if no one comes to meet them. "Hey Mahb!?" he calls into the building, "Lina pulled a Kong and Jacob! She's not a demon again! Oh, and we have new company. Luna stole people from where we came from!"
Luna Rook
"I didn't steal anything, I gave them a choice we didn't get."
mdt
An old woman comes out on the porch to the chieftain's house (formerly an inn) and eyes the newcomers, and Lina's supine form with a mild glare. "Oh, wonderful, I'm sure that will help loads." She snorts. "Well, bring her in, I'm sure we can find a room for her tae throw up blood into and turn into a drauger or something equally good."
The inside of the inn's common room is open, with benches and tables, all made from rough hewn wood. Logs split down the middle with limbs nailed to them for legs make benches. Tables built similarly. On the bright side, the furniture is highly stable and well built. "Second door on da left..." Mahb says, motioning toward the stairs. "Pallet on the floor, just in case someone came by an needed a place tae stay."
Inside, there's an older man, sitting at a table, looking thoughtful. Jacob nods at everyone when they come in, but he looks uncomfortable when he sees Lina's body. He himself had had an easy time of it, a little pain and that was all.
Neri Voler
"Not sure how helpful it is. But we were wondering if you'd recognize them at all, by their symbols. You know like you did when you pronounced me demon of volcanos magic and fire... and such. And gave Ptaleon his name back. This is Liisa, and this is Johnny." He introduced the two.
A moment later, he waved over to Jacob, "How is everyone else holding up?"
mdt
Jacob shrugs. "Well enough, I guess." The man seems... deflated.. since giving up his gem. "Kid won't shut up, hard to get mad at him."
Mahb eyes Johnny, and shrugs. "No idea... probably some foreign demon. "
She eyes Liisa, and shrugs again. "Not sure... could be Selvaria, or maybe Rorick. Both used bows."
...Sel...var...ia... I think... I think that's me...
Neri Voler
Neri beamed at the idea of a child that wouldn't shut up. "I'm glad to hear that, thanks Jake."
"Wait... there are foreign demons?" Neri tilted his head. "I mean, different from -us- foreign? I didn't know that was a thing."
mdt
Mahb snorts. "Oh, looks like Aye found another thing yon hot head don't know. Aye think Aye'll celebrate, hasnae happened in what... a week?" She thumps her cane into Neri's shin. "There be an ocean out there, and foreign things on de other side. And foreign demons that once ruled there."
Neri Voler
"I figure it'll be another two or three days before you tell me something else new." he grins back, then jokingly adds, "And that's exactly what we volcano demons need. Any idea why the demons would be separated onto different land-masses? That just seems odd to me." he shrugs.
Johnny Slade
As they drag Lina's form into the inn, Johnny contemplates Neri's response. If they're not used to these warped creatures, maybe if Liisa figures out how to fix them, we could earn more goodwill from these people.
Johnny gives his best winning smile when he's introduced. When Mahb tries to identify their gems, he speaks up. "Well, the traders seemed to think Liisa's name started with an 'S', so I'm guessin' she's this 'Selvaria' person. And based on the books I found looking around my caravan, it doesn't surprise me much that my gem might be foreign; he seemed to do lots of travelin'."
He's a bit surprised to see how easily, and relatively friendly, Mahb acts towards a 'demon.' It's nothing like the religious fanatics he used to deal with back home. But then, I heard there were some types who were religious without feelin' a need to attack everybody. Not that you'd ever hear about them on the news or anythin'. He chuckles to himself. His ma'd probably have a screamin' fit as his pa'd try to beat them senseless if confronted with a 'demon'. But then, they'd been here a while, so maybe they'd gotten that all out of their system.
Pulling himself out of his thoughts, Johnny speaks up again. "So even though you can't recognize me by name, can you still tell I'm one of the 'demons'?" If she can't, this could be quite useful. At the very least, if we go outside again, I could maybe disguise myself to avoid hostilities from the locals.
mdt
Mahb snorts. "Only reason Aye knew dese lot was demons was 'cause they came intae de village claiming tae be from beyond de wall. Once Aye saw dem do tings, Aye knew they were fo sure. Den it was jest a matter of lookin' at deir a'mor and weapons tae figger out which ones. But Aye dinnae reco'nize yours." She turns a glaring eye on Neri. "Tell me why dere be differin' animals an plants an people over de sea and no differin' gods, ye poppet!"
For the newcomers, Mahb has a thick accent, somewhere between Irish and Cajun.
About then the door opens and a tall thin black haired woman slips in like a shadow, much like Luna does. She has a dagger in one hand, and is casually flipping it up and down, catching it by the blade with two fingers, never cutting herself. Behind her is a young man, of similar appearance. Both are dressed in black clothes that look like a male and female version of the same outfit.
Behind them is a red-haired girl, about 12 or 13, also dressed in black. She has several daggers on her and she's got one hand on a dagger hilt. As she steps in the room, her eyes light up as she stares at Johnny's sword, completely ignoring Liisa.
The dark haired girl nods. "Evenin, Demons. Slaughter any newborns lately? Eat any hearts?"
The man chuckles, but just nods at Neri and Luna.
Neri Voler
"So now there are different plants and animals, too. Looks like I overstepped my estimate, as usual." he grins a bit more, "Makes sense, though." He motions as the others come in.
"We haven't found any, or we might. Haven't spotted any, have you?" Neri said, keeping up banter, and transitioning to more introductions, "This is Mahb's daughter, Krona and her daughter Slota. This is Kong... he also arrived with us, like Jake over here. Until recently, he hosted Kinsalia of Death, and... I honestly have no idea who Jacob was carrying around with him." He let Johnny and Lisa introduce themselves this time.
Liisa Nemi Lampinen
Selvaria? That is quite a pretty name ...
Liisa makes a mental note to not flaunt where she is from, if she were to venture to the other side of the wall.
"This world is surely like ours - multiple continents with different people, cultures and inhabitants. You know, with kangaroos in Australia and polar bears at the North Pole ..."
And here we have an interesting trio. 'Hail Sithis'? Heh ...
"Well, I did have some artichoke last week ..." Liisa chuckles. Taking a que from Neri, she assumed that Krona and her antics wasn't in spite. Or if they were, best met with humour.
"Nice to meet you too, Krona. Kong. Slota. My name is Liisa and I currently host Selvaria."
Johnny Slade
"Well, several of the reliefs had ninja-people on them, so it'd make sense that they were from a different place than the rest. What's odd is that they were all in the caves together, rather than just having the local ones. Unless we think they're all travelin' types?"
Johnny moves to tip his hat to the newcomers. Damn...keep forgettin' I'm not wearin' it. Maybe I should get one of those straw hats to go with this outfit. Or maybe I should try altering the appearance of what I'm wearing so it'd match?
Realizing his mistake, he simply nods his head towards them instead, not certain that he wants to risk irritating new people with unknown customs by trying to shake their hand. Especially when they seem so competent with knives. "I'm Johnny Slade. Pleased to meet you all. No idea who my gem is, but I call him KiKi." He looks up to address his gem. Even though it's actually at the base of his skull. "Ain't that right KiKi? Kikkers. Kikkerino." He shrugs. "Hasn't complained yet."
His lips twist up slightly at the girl's question as he jokingly responds, "Personally, I prefer livers to hearts. They go well with some fava beans and a nice Chianti." He makes his best Hannibal Lecter lip smacking sound before he realizes the joke would probably be lost on the locals, making him just seem creepy.
mdt
The younger girl nods, still eyeing the sword. "That's a bad weapon to use if you want the liver, it'd probably slice it up. A dagger's better, you have more control over where the blade goes."
It's the longest sentence that Neri and Luna have heard the girl utter since the village was established. Her mother nods, and makes a few lightning fast motions with her hand, now full of a dagger, as if skewering a kidney, or the heart, or the family jewels, to emphasis what her daughter said. The pair give off a very strong Wednesday and Morticia Aadams vibe
Then the quiet is shattered by the door of the inn slamming open. "NERVI! LUNVA! LINVA!" A small voice shouts, and a blonde whirlwind blows into the room as Trobit assaults the ears of those in the house. "Youv goth newv veovle! Linva hurbt! Vhy you no vell! Vho Vew? Vho vew? Thaffs sfrange floaths! Khee's fretty! Than kay thee vore kord?" And the strange mangled words don't stop, they just keep up a patter as the small mop headed boy bounces off everyone and everything in the room.
Behind him, a redheaded woman slips in the door, and then slides down the inner wall, taking up a place on the wall very quietly. She nods to those in the room but otherwise remains silent.
A shadow form the size of an indian elephant sticks it's head into the room. The shadowy fox/wolf head takes in the entire room, glances at the newcomers, makes sure they aren't hurting anyone, and glowing red embers study the them for a moment before the head withdraws.
Neri Voler
and here in thought of introducing Kong's group as the Adams family :p
"Hello Trobit." Neri grins. "This is Liisa, and this is Johnny. I just go with Lees and Jon, though. We only just got here. It's good to see you, too. His clothes are weird, though I kind of want some. They look sturdy!" He doesn't comment on the pretty part, and doesn't understand the last part at least I don't! He moves off to paying attention to other things, trying to catch Arna's eye, before tilting his head in the direction of the wolf-creature, then Trobit. It seems he had a rather lively 'imaginary friend' now.
"It's good to see you're all doing well. Lina had a run in with her gem, I'm afraid. There was... lots of pain. We figure it may be like what happened with you guys... but it's impossible to know. I figure she's safer here than anywhere else to recover, you know? Plus, Mahb doesn't mind a bit." He continued his friendly banter. "Speaking of... I kind of want to talk to you about a few things I've been thinking of, later." He focuses his attention on Mahb, "Anyone can listen in, but I figure it's best to have our fun, first."
Johnny Slade
Johnny removes the sheath from his back, resting the point on the ground between him and Slota, examining it. "Yeah, you're probably right. I've never been much good at cookin'." The girl's clearly interested in my sword. Not sure I'd feel comfortable handin' it to her, though from what Neri said, that's probably impossible. But lettin' her have a closer look can't hurt, right? 'Specially if I keep it in its sheath. Seems her ma trusts her enough with blades to give her some, so I think we'll be ok.
Johnny raises an eyebrow as whirlwind Trobit enters. He stifles a chortle and gives Liisa a huge grin. D'aww, someone's got an admirer. Admittedly, he only got maybe half of what the kid was saying (Somethin' about a war lord? Neri said not to make a big deal of it, so I think I'll just nod like I understood.), but he had at least got that much.
He gives the kid a small, informal, one-handed salute. "Nice ta meetcha Trobit. How's it--" His voice ends abruptly as the shadow creature sticks its head it. Nobody seems to freak out though, so he does his best to play it cool. "Errr...what's the shadow thing that looks about big enough to eat us in one bite?"
mdt
"Imaginary friend. Ignore." The redhead says, her voice gravelly. A smoker's voice, for those not from this world. Neri would remember the shadow wolf creature as the thing Arna summoned to help rip the village apart, or at least, one of the things she summoned.
Neri Voler
I remembered the snake but not the wolf. :)
"It's... one of their 'tricks'." Neri responded, using the terminology they tended to prefer. "Think of it as a watch dog... or ignore it. I think they'll all be more comfortable if we pretend it isn't here."
"From what I can tell... Johnny can get specific goods for people. We had what looked like a general store group of spirits, til.." he motioned to Lina. "And now a musician or something. I can't fully tell, since we didn't stay. Meanwhile, Lees's place has trees and fruits and stuff. Is there anything in particular you guys would like for us to look out for for you?"
mdt
"Poison..." Krona says promptly. "Or Nightshade cuttings."
Trobit bounces off a wall. "FANDY! FANDY!"
Slota grins. "Throwing daggers!"
Kong chuckles. "Yah, Toilet paper..."
Jacob laughs. "Seconded..."
Arna shakes her head.
Mahb makes an amused snort. "More dead priests..."
Neri Voler
"Like I said. We'll talk about that later." he shrugs to Mahb. "And yeah, I tried for candy. They said someone would be through later. With Lina's building out of commission, I'm not sure we can do much forging. But we'll see. I'm not sure who's gonna do the forging stuff in a passable manner. Maybe we can dig out some of the forges and get them fixed in the volcano."
Luna Rook
Luna wasn't really interested In talking nor could she understand them very well so she'd let Neri do the introductions.
"We'll need to get more potion supplies if we can, Lina may need them."
Neri Voler
Later, in case people want to continue being friendly. Attendance by choice.
"Alright... so on the note of 'killing more priests'. I've caught on quite a bit with this whole demon thing, I think. I got lost there for a bit, because everyone was so different... then Ptaleon arguing in my head about Selvaria, and Lina and Minestria not getting along... to this degree... has made me realize: We're going to have differing opinions on things. It's entirely possible that the exact goals of each gem doesn't coincide with the other gems. I think they have one overall thing in common though." He says motioning towards the sky, and by extension, the wall. "They either want nothing, or something very specific, to do with those people you call gods outside. And... I'm somewhat inclined to agree. I... I don't like them. I don't like what they do to people, especially children. I don't like the vibes I get, and I don't like where my mind goes when I think of what they probably get up to. But I don't believe in forcing things on people. That's been my problem all along. So... I need opinions here, Mahb, everyone else." he looks around.
"I'm thinking of going back outside the wall, and trying to free more people. But... we saw how that went the first time. I want to know. Was it worth it? You lost all those people that we couldn't save. I want to know if you were kidding about me killing more priests. Do you think it's better here?"

She would do well in a back alley gang or something. At least until someone brains her with an iron pipe ... Liisa thought dismayed as the young girl displayed a surprising amount of knife know-how. Her fingers itched, she hadn't played any tricks for a few days and this was reminding her of the fact. Biting her lip, she resisted the urge. Her armour still felt a bit unfamiliar and restrictive, and she would need her full range of moment if she were to dazzle that kid. Or I could just see if Johnnys traders could get me a butterfly knife. That ought to blow their minds ...
---
Ignore the giant red-eyed darkness. Check! Liisa threw a quick glance at the wolf head then smiled at the energetic boy. She didn't have much of an ear for dialects - and this was just crazy. Wasn't there supposed to be some translation magic at work here? Meh...
"Hello Trobit! I don't think I have any candy, but I might be able to grow some cherries or strawberries ..."
Liisa blinked at the boy. ... and probably nightshade and how many more poisonous plants, but I'm not sure if that is a good idea.

Mahb raps Neri on the knee again with her staff, rather harder than the first time, apparently wanting to get his attention. "IDIOT! Ye don't want tae force yaeself on anyone. Great for ye Aye'm sure ye'll be all noble and sech when the priests draw and quarter ye. Ye know what that is, doncha? They gut ye, put hot coals in ye belly, and then have four horses race away from ye in differin directions, each with a rope around one of ye limbs." She spits. "Stay, or go, but don't be doin no half-measures, ye idiot. Go kill the priests, or stay here like those two." She nods at Jacob and Kong. "But if ye ain't gonna kill priests, give the gem to someone that will."
Hah, the old witch knows reality when she sees it...
Wisdom... comes with age...
...age...wisdom...
...idiot boy... should have grabbed the driver of the truck instead...
Neri Voler
"Well... heard it from the horse's mouth." Neri shrugs. "As long as they really are as bad as they were where you lived. But, tell me this. I haven't heard a single bad thing about Korbran. Nothing. What do we do with his priests?"
Liisa Nemi Lampinen
Funny. I've only ever heard old people make that claim... I guess you must be quite old now Selvaria, even if you weren't before the *ahem* gemification?
"Was it worth coming here to this side of the wall - rather then facing whatever torment that waited on the other side? Should we seek to ensure we can bring the people back - or strive to lure out the priests to remote locations and slay them where they cannot harm anyone with their death throes?"
Johnny Slade
Deciding that conversing out loud with his gem would probably just disturb the flow of conversation, Johnny tries thinking at it instead.
So...are you saying she's old and therefore wise? 'Cause if you are Kiks, I know many old people you can't say that for back home. Also, goin' around murderin' folk doesn't sound much like you. I thought you were a guy of mercy. Although I will admit you probably know more about these priest-y fellas than me.
Johnny shifted slightly, uncomfortable with the talk going on. Sure, the priests in that one village sounded pretty bad; what kind of a fella'd cut out a boy's tongue after all? And the fact that it seemed actually sanctioned by the higher ups...well, that certainly wasn't good. But the people here were talking actual world changing stuff. Sure, he'd done his share of good deeds. Generally when it wouldn't put him in too bad of a spot. But freein' an entire people? It was just...too big. Far, far too big.
"Well, I don't know much about...all this." He waves his arms vaguely through the air, indicating pretty much everything. "But...doesn't this all seem a bit short-sighted? I mean, say you kill all the priests. Then what? You've got lord knows however many people whose entire system of bein' has just been collapsed. What then? If we were back home, you'd have people riotin' in the streets. Essential functions would cease to work. You'd probably wind up with people without food, without water, without electricity, and who knows what else. Do any of you know how ta run a country? 'Cause I sure as hell don't. We might just wind up clearin' the way for someone bigger'n badder to take over."
Liisa Nemi Lampinen
Liisa looks momentairly distracted and looks off into the distance.
