Take your time to do it right Oladon!

Silver Crusade

I'm having the same issues as most here but have the utmost faith in you and your awesome extension. Rock on Oladon!

I will only add one thing since it seems entertaining

Quote:

I'm guessing that the constant updates by the Paizo team are making fixing this like shooting a moving target... while on a ship... in a hurricane...

Oladon,

Could you please add "http://paizo.com/community/blog/" to the list of URLs that the extension works for. The normal "paizo.com/threads" is ok, but they are putting the playtest threads under the blog one, and there is one person that I'd like to block,

thanks -- david

Will do, David.

(Lack of) Updates

TLDR: This surprise update didn't come at a good time. I'm hopeful that I'll be able to get a fix out within a few weeks, but that's the best I can do on timeline right now.

Longer version:

I'm slammed with other things right now, and when I do find time to work on this, one change in particular is proving difficult to overcome. I'm trying to get in touch with Paizo to see if they have any interest in helping get this extension working again; I'll let you all know how it goes.

Update

I made some adjustments this past weekend and believe I've gotten everything working again — at this point what's left is more testing and a bit of code clean-up. Planning to release the new version this week.

Update

I've just released version 2.5.0, which fixes the alias selector and inactive alias marker as of the latest site changes, and also adds the new blog URL to the active page list.

As always, please let me know of any issues you experience.

Yea!! and Thank you !!!

Thanks!

Works for me on FireFox.

Well that is a nice surprise to come back from vacation too. Thank you as always.

Silver Crusade

Yay!

Offers hug to the wonderful Oladon who got this working again.

Many thanks!

Yes, thank yoooooouuuuuu! :D

Nice, well done, Oladon!
Ahh, how I missed the alias selector and your campaign arrangement.
--
Works with firefox (old ESR and newest version).

I have found an interesting bug with the default alias selector.
I am playing in a two-table campaign with two different characters (here and here).
I cannot set a different default alias for those two.
My set default is always the default for the other campaign as well. If I change it in one, the other campaign will use the 'new' alias as standard as well.
In all my other campaigns, it works flawless.
Guess some corner case with the matching of campaign name and default alias?

Dark Archive

I have the utmost respect for tool-writers. Thank you Oladon!

I don't know why but the code tag does not work for me in any alias page.
It works here
.
But not here (at the bottom)
Any ideas why, or is it a known already?

Thanks for the kind words, all. :)

Good find -- it is indeed an issue with the campaign names being so similar, and my regex being a bit lazy. I'll plan to get that fixed with the next update.

As far as the code tag, that'd be because the extension doesn't currently run on profile (/people/<name>) pages. It's an interesting use case that I hadn't considered. Do people want to be able to use code, underline, and color on those pages?

Thanks for the quick reply, Oladon.

I would love to use them there. Especially /code would be highly appreciated, as I use much formatting there, using ... or --- for place-holding.
Btw. is it working in the campaign description? I could see a use-case there for loot tables, or house-rules as well.

It should be working on any of the campaign pages, yes.

Recently found this, and it's quite useful, thanks for your hard work!

I have one request, though: would it be possible for the campaign list page to have the same things as the alias page (sorting and/or active/inactive sections)?

Glad you're finding it useful!

Campaigns page custom arrangement is actually on the list of features I'd like to add... in fact, I've started work on it and it's close to ready, but I haven't had much time to spend on the extension in the past few months.

The ability to mark campaigns as inactive is a good idea -- thanks!

Silver Crusade

Oh, please, please, please, work on campaign sorting when you can! The biggest think I would use it for is to separate campaigns into player, GM, and not really campaign (things like Flaxseed Lodge) categories.

It was recently brought to my attention that the blacklist feature isn't working as intended for blog threads.

I've found the issue and have a fix. Turns out it's been broken for a few years, but I think the issue was being masked until the recent site changes uncovered it.

Should have a fix out in the next week or so... and I just finished a huge project at work, so might have some time to work on the custom campaign page arrangement again soon!

Silver Crusade

(peeks in, afraid to be the bearer of bad news)

Sometime this evening, a website update broke the default alias per campaign, and also the inactive campaign designation. Please fix as soon as you reasonably can? (makes puppy dog faces at the wonderful Oladon)

Default alias broken here also. Not sure about Inactive campaign.

-- david

Just came over here to ask you all to post any issues you notice after the latest website update — only to see that you already have! Best users ever. :)

I haven't been able to investigate default aliases at all yet, but it should be a relatively straightforward issue that I can fix soon.

Please do report any other issues you encounter.

Silver Crusade

Ooops, I mis-spoke. What I meant to say is that the default alias per campaign and also the inactive alias designation are not working.

Just confirming that the default alias seems to not be working. Far as I can tell, everything else is working fine on my end. Not sure about the inactive alias designation (not even sure what that is).

Well some of my games are red but I do not think that is the addons fault. Still it makes me carzy lol.

Default alias does is not working for me.

Paizo should just hire you.

If your thread includes a color like Red or Green, the thread text will appear that color. I'm guessing a lot of your threads have a "GM Red Box" in there.

Paizo is aware of the issue and will fix it soon (TM)

Update

Alright, so I didn't get the new version released yesterday as planned... but I did get almost all the work done for it, along with a bit of a surprise.

Hope you'll all survive for another few days...

Silver Crusade

Is there any chance the new version will be out in time for Gameday to start on Monday?

I shall do my utmost to make it so.

Just wanted to say thanks for your hard work you're putting into this!

Here's to hoping the website redesign stops messing things up for you :)

Thanks for the work Oladon.

New Version: 2.5.2

I've released version 2.5.2 for both Chrome and Firefox. The Firefox version is ready for download; the Chrome one is still "under review".

This release fixes the following issues:
- alias selector broken due to latest site changes
- inactive aliases broken due to latest site changes
- blacklist on blog threads broken

It also adds a small new feature which allows you to hide the site header. Note that this feature is only available on the pages touched by this extension (not the whole site). If people really like the feature, I may expand it to the whole site in the future.

Yea !!!!

Firefox version: Confirming that Alias Selector and Blacklist on Blog threads are now fixed!

Thanks Oladon!

-- david

Can confirm that both the alias selector and the header-hider are functional on Chrome. Thanks, mah dude.

Oh... And I just realized what the "site header" update was about and can report that it works on Firefox.

-- david

:)

Header hider is very slick! Looks like it's a native part of the site, thanks for reclaiming that screen real estate for us!

Silver Crusade

(does a happy dance, and then offers thank you hugs to Oladon)

Silver Crusade

Something just broke it again, I think... :(

Edit: it works if I don't have a new private message. If the red dot shows up to say I have a new private message, the default alias doesn't work. Seems like a weird bug...

Bah... it's not as weird as you might think.

Could you send me a PM so I can troubleshoot tonight?

Thanks!

Silver Crusade

Sent.

I wonder if, since the dot for private messages shows up in the header, the hide the header code has something to do with it?

Good guess — not quite correct, but it does have to do with the way Paizo chose to implement the notification dot. I should be able to get a fix out tonight.

New Version: 2.5.3

This release fixes the issue Redelia found where the alias selector and some other features weren't working when you had an unread private message. It's currently being reviewed for both Firefox and Chrome; hopefully they'll approve it soon.

Oladon,

On the Campaigns page, this extension shows three campaign wide, rather than all in a vertical column, which is great!

Question, how many characters wide before the title of the campaign line breaks? I have one that is 34 characters wide (with no line break) and one that is 36 characters wide (with line break).

It has got to be 35 or 36, right?
