Is there any viable possibility of seeing a Pathfinder computer game in the future? I would love to see the electronic implementation of the game, like there have been computer games based on D&D. Of course, Pathfinder doesn't have the recognition of D&D, but still, computer game have been based on smaller RPG franchises than D&D before (Shadowrun, Vampire the Masquerade and others).
Paizo wouldn't make much in terms of licensing fees in such an endeavor, but it would serve as useful advertising for it - I know several people who came to D&D through CRPGs. Of course, for it to work, the developer would have to be reputable/capable of making good games, yet willing to take on franchises, for example Obsidian Entertainment (www.obsidianent.com). A bad CRPG would merely sully the Pathfinder brand - in that case none would be more than some but bad.

Actually... licensing fees from video games are QUITE lucrative for the license holder. If someone wanted to develop a Pathfinder video game and we gave them the license, Paizo could stand to make quite a lot out of the deal, to be honest. Personally, I'd LOVE to see a Pathfinder video game/computer game some day. It's absolutely a possibility.

Well, that makes it even better then. I assumed that since Pathfinder is a relatively new and comparatively small franchise, it would have not be as lucrative for the license holder - at least not to begin with. Obviously, however, you are in a much better position to judge that than I am, and if such a computer game could be a source of income and not just advertising even in its first incarnation so much the better.
Personally, I'd LOVE to see a Pathfinder video game/computer game some day.
And so would I. Hopefully, it will come to pass some day.
Besides my own desires, I think that a Pathfinder CRPG could have the chance to capture some segments of the former D&D CRPG market, not all of which (and that's an understatement) will be pleased at the changes being made to the primary D&D setting for CRPGs - the Forgotten Realms. Of course, Pathfinder would also offer a fresh feel of its own that could paradoxically appeal to those already jaded with FR. A good game can also bring in completely new players.
It's absolutely a possibility.
Great! I wish you the best of luck in any actual or potential plans in this regard.

Slightly off topic...
personally I'm hoping that there will be Paizo CharGen program (or maybe a program to help design/run a campaign) to support the PF RPG...preferably something with controls that make it easy to customize without having to get deep into programming.

Well there is the Third Party Databases for RPGXplorer.
Those are for the rules presented in Rise of the Runelords, such as prestige classes, weapons and religions.
And I don't think anyone's working on one yet. It would be rather pointless when so much is still changeable.

James, you may want to check out this thread I started on the Obsidian Entertainment's boards (I am under the nick "Magister Lajciak" on Obsidian's boards): http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=49650&st=0&gopid= 853071&#entry853071
It appears that they are fans of Pathfinder.
Perhaps one thing will lead to another between Paizo and Obsidian and lo and behold a baby CRPG might be born. ;)

Oh come on.. with the minis line they've got going, Pathfinder virtual table would be awesome.

I anybody at Obsidian wants to talk to me about a CRPG based on Pathfinder, I am all ears! Have them contact me at lisa@paizo.com.

I have sent the contact information to the developer at Obsidian Entertainment who responded to the thread and asked him to forward it to somebody responsible for such matters if there is any potential interest in this on Obsidian's part.
I would be thrilled to see something like that work out, but of course, we must all keep our heads cool for now - even if Obsidian is interested, they may be too busy with other projects at this time and so on. Still, it would be great if... I am repeating myself too much. ;)

I want to link this thread I started on the Obsidian boards about an interest in creating a Pathfinder CRPG: http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=50118&st=0&gopid= 876019&#entry876019

Thank you Dragnmoon! As an added benefit, I can see from the quotation of your post how to make proper links in the future.

Pathfinder Chargen is here, and it is fantastic. Pathfinder Character Generator.

Doesn't the d20 License/OGL forbid software development using the d20 rules? Or something like it... I know there are mapping/gamining softwares. But I believe Ive seen somewhere on the license that you cant...
No it does not - or to be more specific, the d20 License does, but the OGL does not and the Pathfinder RPG is being made under the OGL not under the d20 license (which is expired anyway, due to the release of 4E).

I personally would love to see some kind of stand alone product along the lines of E-Tools. I think CodeMonkey were doing a great job with the product. I appreciated that for the most part, E-tools was easy to handle and was dedicated to pretty much D&D/d20 Modern.
I realize that E-Tools didn't make it too far, but I feel this was in line with the fact that Wizards seems to like to hand their stuff to other companies and then basically abandon it like a red-headed step child.
Anyways... something like that would be wonderful. And of course a Pathfinder video game would rock as well. Can Pathfinder get away with their own MMO?

I disagree, the finalisation of the Pathfinder ruleset is a year away. I for one, can't wait that long.
