great product, would be better with unique markings

These bases fit perfectly with the pawns. The only question we had is why are they only available in black? Some variety of colors would be a nice help at the table. The pawns do have small color markings when they are the same figure, but that's not easy to see at quick glance from all spots on the table.

We bought some colored and numbered stickers to put on these to give a quick and easy way to tell which pawn is which...

Glad I got these extra bases!

I would love to see the option to buy these in a variety of colours.

Any chance you could allow Gargantuan and Colossal bases?
Or would those not be cost-effective to produce?

We haven't made pawns larger than Huge yet.

My solution to this has been to use metallic sharpies to write numbers on the bases. Therefore I can have gold 1, gold 2, gold 3, silver 1 and bronze 1 all in the encounter.

Yet...?

We *want* to... we just don't like any of the options we've seen to date.

What we do in the home game I play in is mark them with little colored dots to differentiate identical minis. So I attack pink sahuagin, or with enough enemies, orange-three stone giant.

Pulling out an as-yet unmarked set of enemies inevitably invokes "more dots!" :)

Our GM has been using his saw to make custom ones as we're facing off against a lot of huge and gargantuan creatures. We go high enough by the end of the cycle that gargantuan and colossal are pretty standard.

i made a translucent gargantuan centipede, flat counter worked well and allowed easy trampling :)

2 huge bases(on in each lower corner) could support Gargantuan and Colossal no prob

I really do not mind if the pawns for gargantuan, colossal and colossal+ were the same size as the pawns for huge creatures if only we had bases for those larger ones. That is just my opinion but I'm sure there are others who would agree with me.

I paint them in the meantime, but it would be awesome to have a SKU with bases in several colors.

How thick are the pawns (the stock itself). I am considering ordering some of the bases, but I would like to know how wide the opening is so I know how thick a card stock to print my pdfs on. I picked up some of the pdfs of the pawn sets and I find it really handy to print out just the figures I need for a specific set of encounters.

Very thick -- it's closer to card board than card stock. Picture the box a Monopoly set comes in. You probably can't print on something this thick...I would suggest printing on labels, then affixing to poster board or even foam core.

Edit: Just measured -- they're about 1/12" thick.

Thanks! I have access to some high-tech printing equipment and running on thick cardstock isn't usually an issue. Most likely I will print them on two thick sheets and then glue them together anyhow. Sounds like I will have to order some.

If gargantuan and colossal bases are a future possibility, please create a Big Base Assortment: 4 huge, 2 gargantuan, and 1 colossal.

I'm running a high-level apocalyptic adventure that calls for a small army of 15 fiendish elder earth elementals. So, I need a bunch of huge bases.

I just wanted to +1 in addition to favoriting.

Yeah I really like this idea rather than waiting for another solution, make the bases now and later when the printing plan comes together you'll already have bases out there.

Tiny bases and pawns please. Please?

So does this mean that there isn't an option to order Medium bases only? I'm glutted by Large and Huge bases and a lot of Medium bases have gone missing from overuse (with kids!).

There is not, unfortunately.

Re: colored bases. A fellow GM in this area uses Avery color coding dots to get five distinct bases: red, blue, green, yellow and blank. I put two dots to get 16 more.

Hmm...not a bad idea.

I've been stretching those "loom" rubber bands around my bases at the base of the slot. They're readily available in multiple colors, cheap (especially now since the fad seems to have run its course), and best of all they stretch enough to fit on medium, large, and huge bases.

I'd still buy multi-colored bases, though. :)

Nice tip, thanks! I think I'll give those a try.

Liberty's Edge

Anyone know the name of the company that makes these?

Thanks!

If you're asking who makes the pawn bases, they're a Paizo product. (They're the exact same bases that are in our Pawn Boxes these days, complete with the Pathfinder logo on the bottom of each base.)

Looks like a good set, my only concern is the pricing to value.

If you don't mind different colours for larger bases, you can get the same number of huge and large in green ($2 and $3), then twice as many mediums in black ($3.50) for $1.50 less than this set offers them.

Since I plan on painting/adding ground to the bases for distinction anyways, base colour doesn't concern me.
