The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

@Kalendir: if you withdraw you can't attack but if you would like to shoot after moving you'll provoke as you move away. Either way you'd only get one arrow off as you could only do a standard attack action rather than a full-attack.

Kalendir, not quite himself, backs away from the action and lets Swayaah take his place. She swipes at the creature and leaves a gash in its purplish flesh! Awen then puts an arrow into it. Rackle's bolt misses and Dvalin gives aid to Swayaah in this fight.

The fungi try to take Swayaah down for a nice little tiefling snack!

Yea sorry. That's what I get for having a 1 Int :). I don't feel with his current stats that Kalendir would have withdrew tactfully. He would have provoked the AoO and shot one arrow.

Kalendir fires two more arrows, though he doesn't necessarily identify any targets before he fires as one arrow sticks into Rackle's armor. As Rackle turns to him with a scowl he smiles stupidly at the Tengu.

Awen walks into the room and grunts as he nudges one of the fungus things with his toe. Then he walks over to the door to check it for traps and try and discern what is beyond it

"I have nothing that will help him." Awen growls at Swayaah with his new lack of charisma. "He will just have to wait it out.. or stay that way..." he continues with a shrug.

Once again, I hate playing with this low of a charisma. Granted, a 10 is not high by any means, but at least it lets me be nice to people!!!! Other than a nights rest, though, I do not know of any way to reset ability score damage like this. Honestly, this is the first time that ability score damage has played this big of a role in any game I was in. Normally it is just strength or con dmg that goes away when we camp for the night.

I'm guessing it's Touch of Idiocy, a 10 min/level spell. We can probably wait it out...assuming I'm right. But Swayaah doesn't know that!

Swayaah's at 8 Charisma, and she's making too many bad jokes to be taken seriously.

While they are doing that, Awen goes back to examining the door to the west. Perception roll was a couple posts back, but I took 20 for 31 on trapfinding and discerning whats beyond it

A sinister statue looms in an alcove to the east. The thing is ten feet tall with a human body, but with the head of a deformed, fanged bird and two coiling serpents for legs. The statue clutches a flail in one hand, and holds a large, open book in the other.

DC 20 Knowledge (religion):
This statue depicts the demon lord Abraxas. Though the statue looks menacing, it is harmless.

To the south two flights of stairs curl around this room, descending downward (the next level down of Thornkeep, so beyond the scope of this adventure).

However, more immediately two malignant clouds of shadows boil in the air, their skeletal maws eerily babbling as the creatures' claws manifest from the darkness!

DC 13 KN (religion):
Those who fall prey to madness and take their own lives sometimes find themselves lost on the path to the afterlife, trapped in a state between life and death. These unfortunates, known as allips, suffer from the violent and incurable insanity they faced in life and take out their terror, confusion, and rage upon the living. They reach out to those they encounter—possibly in wrath, but also perhaps oblivious to their own insane nature—spreading the psychoses that led to their own untimely deaths.

They are incorporeal: magic weapons deal half damage and mundane weapons deal no damage to them. Their touch does Wisdom damage and their insane babbling can fascinate victims.

"Undead, right? So I could... heal them to death?" Swayaah ponders while absentmindedly juggling her wand of Cure Light Wounds.

Kalendir is shoved behind the group left peering over their shoulders. Seeing two scary looking creatures he grabs his bow, nearly dropping it. He fires one arrow correctly at the blue creature as his second arrow is fired backwards somehow.

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

The party prepares for what is promised to be a tough encounter as Kalendir leaps into action, firing his bow and hitting one of them twice! Although his arrows fly straight through them, they do leave behind a wispy trail that seems to hurt them!

The shadow creatures begin to babble to themselves!

DC 15 Will save or be fascinated for 2d4 rounds. You will need to save twice (once for each of them), although the fascinated rounds do not stack (iirc); if you fail against both you simply roll 2d4 twice and take the larger result.

The shadowy creatures then move forward to swipe at Dvalin!

Just out of curiosity, and not to mention base and unashamed "save my ass"iness, Shouldn't we have gotten some sort of bonus to the will save for me making the knowledge save and warning everyone not to listen?

@Awen: If you had taken actions to plug your ears, you could have gotten a bonus. No one chose to do that though. Earplugs are 1 cp and you could have put them in as your action if anyone had them. Of course, plugging your ears with your fingers would have left you not being able to do much.

Rackle Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Dvalin finishes off the first creature! Rackle stands fascinated for 2d4 ⇒ (2, 1) = 3 rounds. The remaining one tries to swipe at Dvalin again!

touch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Wisdom damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
DC 15 Will to negate

If you failed the first save against the creature Dvalin just killed, you are no longer fascinated. If you failed the second save against the creature that is still alive though, you are still fascinated.
