When the King of Korvosa dies, the city plunges into chaos. Who will emerge from the ashes as ruler of the city, or will Korvosa tear itself apart before anyone can rise to the occasion?
D'oh! For some reason I thought a signet ring was included with the noble's outfit, but I just checked and apparently it's not. Would it be okay to say that Rica does have one, and lower her gold appropriately? It's okay if not. I think I can come up with a reason as to why she wouldn't have hers.
So the Hellknights are all Fighter 5/Hellknight 1. They're meant to be super-tough at this level. You should run from them, because they are incredibly dangerous.
By the way, I use Hero Points in my games, under the following rules (which I have added to my profile).
HERO POINTS
All PCs gain 1 Hero Point each time they level up.
You can use 1 Hero Point to do any of the following actions. You can only use 1 Hero Point per turn for these actions.
1. Gain an extra action of any type less than full-round.
2. Gain a +8 bonus to a d20 roll if spent before or a +4 bonus if spent after.
3. Perform a readied action without readying.
4. Regain a spell or use of a limited special ability.
5. Reroll a d20.
You can use 2 Hero Points to do the following, regardless of if you have used a Hero Point this turn.
6. Survive a fatal attack (2 points)
I'm sorry for my absence. I've been horrifically sick with bronchitis these past few days, but I'm clearing up. I'm going to post either right after I post this, or tomorrow morning, depending on if the medicine I just took knocks me out.
I've been watching avidly, but it seems like Elrith and Senjin had stuff to do before we all met up again, or me and Rica scampered after Alejandro on the streets.
So, are you going to head through the University/Museum district (where there is little actual rioting going on) towards Old Korvosa, or stop to explore what is going on in the library?
It's come to my attention that with me trying to run two games, combined with some recent stress in my life, I won't be able to meet the post a day requirement for the next week or so. If that's a problem, I'll drop out so a more active player can step up.
Basically, I'm afraid I overloaded myself, so I'd like to give myself a week of slow posting to see if I can't sort things out with rl and my games. If you do want to keep me on, I'm completely happy with having Rica npc'd if I'm not quick enough, but I understand if that's something you don't want to deal with.
I'm really sorry guys. Things just kind of hit me out of nowhere.
I've been busy lately. It's been a full moon or something, because people have gone a little nuts. I got into a fight today with a suspect who, despite being outnumbered 5 to 1, nearly won. (He was huge.) We recovered something like 22 pounds of marijuana and a gun from his hotel room and vehicle. Something's in the water; it's been busy like this most of the summer.
I'm also leaving patrol soon. I'm heading, as of Saturday, to an investigative position. I'm very excited, but will probably have even less time (during the day) to post. I will probably have more time off-work, though.
I'm still here. My wife and I just moved and decided to try doing all the painting at once while we had the house empty. Painting every wall and ceiling in a three-storey house...
...in one week...
...last brush stroke went on last night at 1:40 am.

I'm around. I've been rather busy with my new job. We're really starting to ramp up with things to do, so I don't have nearly as much time as I used to during the day. And I come home to class, homework, a baby, and exercise, so I don't have much more time at home.
I should still be able to post periodically throughout the day, but I like to spend time on my posts if possible. Hopefully it won't be a problem.
I'm catching up now. You'll see a post from me soon.
I think if we are waiting on Rica, we may have a long wait unfortunately. Looks like she dropped the games she was running and has not had any recent activity. Hope she finds the time for at least this game, but for the moment she may need to be nudged either in or out of the way.
Guys, I fear that I might be overextended right now. Between the hours of my new assignment (0600-1400), the expectations of my new apartment manager (that I basically patrol at 2300 hrs and 0500 hrs, and apparently never sleep), and classes on the other side of the city on Wednesday and Thursday, I can't give this game the appropriate attention it deserves.
How would you feel about putting this game on hiatus for a few weeks or months, until I've fully transitioned into the way things are? It'll give Alejandro and Rica the opportunity to get back as well, and I can use what little free time I have to map out more of where I want this campaign to go. As it stands, this one takes the most out of my creativity, as it deviates most from the adventure as written.
Tell me what you guys think. I want to give the campaign the attention it deserves, and to be the best DM/storyteller I can be. I just can't do that until I get in the swing of things.
Take the time you need. Your gaming shouldn't add stress to your life. You do such a great job, I am sure people can wait it out as you settle in on the duties of your promotion (that is so much more important). I am enjoying the hell out of this game so I hope everyone can sit tight.
