Gorgowzowa sits, disconnected from the real world through deep meditation. His thoughts are not his own. They swim around him like whispy phantoms just out of touch, never clear enough to perceive, although he tries not to reach out. A hair thin tendril starts floating in towards him. He tries to ignore it, but in trying, it becomes faster and more agile. Doubt drifts in and he begins to push back at it, only making the phantom thoughts more voluable, more opaque, creating a groggy slowmotion hurricane. His frustration turns to hot rage, at which the tendril strikes him, and the phantoms converge on him, hundreds of rope like nooses binding him to where he cannot breath. He opens his eyes and sighs. Wiping the sweat from himself he wonders if he can ever separate himself from his past. He will learn more. He will practice more. He must. There is only one other option, and he would chose death before it.

After your trip to Ramparassad, (the capital city of Dtang Ma, in Tian Xia), you meet with Venture-Captain Amara Li.

Venture-Captain Amara Li is waiting in a well-maintained private garden behind a house on a quiet street in Ramparassad, the capital city of Dtang Ma, a nation in eastern Tian Xia. She speaks once everyone has arrived and has had an opportunity to enjoy tea. "When first I arrived in Absalom two years ago, I had a simple but nuanced mission: to increase communication and sharing of resources between the Pathfinder Society and its counterpart in Tian Xia by establishing the Lantern Lodge's position on the other side of the world." She pauses briefly to sip her tea, before adding, "More than a year ago we successfully purchased and restored the house known as Hinojai, which was once a base for the Way of the Kirin. When we acquired Hinojai, it was as much a gambit to attract the attention of the remaining agents of the Way of the Kirin as it was an opportune acquisition of real estate. And indeed, a man claiming to be an agent of the Way recently contacted me by leaving me a message here."

"Although the Way of the Kirin fell into ruin with the fall of Lung Wa a century ago, its far-reaching resources remain valuable, and it still commands great respect. If the Pathfinder Society could ally itself with the Way, the relationship would be of immense benefit to both organizations."

Amara's voice reveals her satisfaction as she says, "Pathfinders, we are on the cusp of just such an alliance. In a day's time, we shall meet with this representative from the Way of the Kirin, and you are to act as security for me and ensure that the meeting is a success. I do not expect any trouble from the Way, but after all of the betrayals and double-crosses that the Society has experienced over the past few years, I worry that this is an elaborate setup by the Aspis Consortium. I have arranged for us all to be transported to the site early tomorrow morning, so take care of any errands you have in Ramparassad this afternoon. There are no settlements near our destination, and we will be spending the night there. I expect you understand the need to be fully prepared."

Amara Li stares into the dregs of her tea as though she were attempting to discern some lost thoughts in the green leaves floating at the cups bottom, then looks up. "Ah yes--before the negotiations begin in earnest, I will host a formal tea ceremony to set the tone. I encourage you to participate, though doing so is not required. I would, however, expect you to dress appropriately for the event." With that she stands and waits to accept any questions.

As Amara stands, protocol dictates that each of you respectfully reaches to replace your cup; doing so, you notice small envelopes subtly hidden beneath each tea cup's saucer.

Andoran Faction:

Crusader of Freedom,
A year ago I had what might politely be called the "pleasure" of meeting a boorish hunter by the name of Theodric Alverteen at a function held to honor the Blakros family. Suffice it to say that I was unimpressed with the man, who bragged at some length about hunting intelligent—sometimes even benevolent—creatures!

Among his trophies was a kirin, which I believe is the spiritual patron of the group you will be speaking with soon. I know little of these magical beasts except that they resemble flying goats, so entreat one of the Way of the Kirin to better explain the creature's appeal. Once you better understand the Way's fascination with the creature, share with them the glorious nobility of the Eagle Knights' namesake so that its freedom might inspire even that far-off continent.

A fellow liberator,
-Major Colson Maldris

Grand Lodge Faction:

Pathfinder,

In the past I have expressed skepticism of Amara Li's push to expand the Pathfinder Society's activities into Tian Xia, but it seems her efforts are finally coming to a head in a way that will greatly benefit the Society. As a result, her mission is your mission. Do everything in your power to ensure Amara's negotiations with the Way of the Kirin conclude successfully, follow her instructions closely, and ensure that any enemies that threaten the mission are soundly defeated.

Yours in loyalty,
-Venture-Captain Ambrus Valsin

Lantern Lodge Faction:

Most Honorable Ally,

What lies ahead is among the most important events in the brief yet illustrious history of the Lantern Lodge, and I shall accompany you so that we might act as one. Whatever lies ahead, I require that you follow my instructions closely and do everything you can to ensure that the alliance between the Pathfinder Society and the Way of the Kirin comes to fruition.

I want you to know that whatever happens, it has been a great joy and an even greater honor to serve as your patron.

Respectfully,
-Venture-Captain Amara Li

Ramparassad is a city with a population of around 75,350. Dtang Ma is a Neutral country.

Please ask your questions of VC Amara Li and let me know when you are ready to proceed with business and preparation within the city.

Can you guys update your profiles so I can see what your levels are, or otherwise inform me of your levels? I'd like to get tier figured out early. Riken's is filled out at 5, and I believe Rilendo is 5 as well. Dae Lach is 6, I think, and I believe that Gorgowzowa is 4 or 5, not sure which. You guys only have 4, so this will be an "easy" scenario. My lowest calculations average out to 5 (correct me if I am wrong, please), so I don't know if you want to play up or not (it's worth noting that if you are in the middle range, until the next Guide to PFS comes out around GenCon 2013, you can still play up for the higher gold. This scenario's tiers are 3-4 and 6-7).

Grand Lodge

Do you know how big the entourage for the representative will be? Are there any special requirements for the meeting? And will we be meeting them in a secure-able location?

"To ensure the utmost secrecy, I will not reveal that until after we have left in the morning. There are too many curious ears in Ramparassad.

"I do not expect any trouble from the Way of the Kirin, and we have taken considerable measures to ensure this mission is secret. Even so, I am certain that both the Golden League and the Aspis Consortium would leverage every resource to prevent this alliance."

Liberty's Edge

Male Human, Ranger/5 Riken HP: 42/42; Paka HP: 32/32

Riken sits slumped over his tea, ignoring the formality in hopes that the vile dregs might heal his hangover.

Just a bodyguard job, huh? he sighed to himself, Paycheck's a paycheck, I guess.

Straightening to address Amara, Riken asked, "So... I'm not from around here. Way of the Kirin? What's a 'kirin' and what's their way about? How likely are they to just roll over and agree with us? And really, how are we supposed to know if it's the Consortium or the Way of whoever?"

Dark Archive

Male Human Sorcerer 2, Cleric 1

Ventrue-Captatin Amara Li sighs at the inquiry. "Clearly, I have once again been forced to use the chaff from the harvest."

Amara dispenses into a quick history lesson, explaining that the Way of the Kirin was a once-powerful military and trade organization, which disappeared from the public eye during the collapse of the Lung Wa Dynasty just over a century ago. They are expected to have access to vast stores of wealth, information, and magic. As she explains the Way and its history, her excited preoccupation with this organization shines through.

As the speech about the Way draws to a close, Amara Li continues: "... and the Way is not simply going to roll over and agree; while their presence may be muted, they are still a powerful organization. We shall try our damnedest to earn the Way's trust and respect, but strong-arming a coercion are not going to win they day. I suggest you show preparation for the tea ceremony—much more, Pathfinder Riken, than you have shown today. Half-hearted attempts at civility will get us no where.

"As for the discerning between a member of the Way of the Kirin, double agents for the Aspis Consortium or some aspect of the ... " Amara's voice grows cold and harsh as she stares down Riken as if a school teacher scolding a failing student, watching his demeanor and attentiveness, guessing his recovering state, "Golden League," Amara continues, "it is your duty as Pathfinders to sniff them out. Assuredly you are experienced in our Society and have methods to out any such infiltration or espionage."

As if to preempt an anticipated question, Amara continues her 'history lesson' about the local organization which brings her concern about this meeting. "Much as the Society has gathered rivals in the Inner Sea, the Way of the Kirin has made many enemies in Tian Xia. The Golden League is a powerful criminal organization with influence throughout Tian Xia. They are masters of subtle manipulation, bribery, thuggery, and assassination. Their enforcers are called Xun—merciless thugs who don't hesitate to maim or kill a person for the league families they serve. They are easy enough to spot by the nearly full-body tattoos that they favor. Should you see any Xun here in Ramparassad, keep clear.

"Now go, prepare for tomorrow. We will depart tomorrow morning and arrive with time to prepare for the ceremony and to secure our meeting place. Be on the lookout here in Ramparassad for anything amiss. Prepare for our tea ceremony—any blunders will be on your heads, so I suggest you prepare well."

If there is anything you want to purchase, research or information gathering you wish to perform, now is the time. There are optional Sczarni and Shadow Lodge RP encounters in the city, but I don't see any reason to run them since no one is of either faction and has no reason to hit either encounter.

Lantern Lodge

Piggy will bathe and don his meager clean yukata, hoping that they will understand his need to wear it, due to his position in life, over much more formal attire. He will also check his supplies of mage armor potions and cure light wounds. If he is low on mage armor, he may look into a wand for it. He'll also check into true strike potions. If he doesn't have a bed roll, he'll purchase one. He'll stay mindful of his surroundings as he goes about these tasks, and would help those around him if they needed it.

Liberty's Edge

Male Human, Ranger/5 Riken HP: 42/42; Paka HP: 32/32

Before leaving, Riken inclined his head into a bow towards Amara Li. He hoped she recognized it as a start, at least.

"I will go prepare."

After visiting a few shops and cleaning up as best he could, putting on his finest clothes, such as they were, Riken bumped into Gorgowzowa, thankfully after he'd visited the bathhouse.

"Tell me about this tea ceremony," Riken said, "I'm assuming you know being..." Riken made a vague gesture at Gorgowzowa, trying to reference his entire culture without being offensive. "I mean, what do I need to know?"

Lantern Lodge

Male Orc/Human Monk/5

"I do not know what you know. You do not know what you do not know. The question you ask is not the one you want answered. I will try to answer the question not asked. You will arrive before the designated time. You will remove all superfluous items. It would be wise to have clean white tabi and kaishi, which you may purchase here. You may not need it, I do not know. From there follow my lead. Do not talk out of turn. Only the first rank guest will talk. Bow when I bow. You will be seated ahead of me, due to my lowly rank, even among outsiders like you. If we have a second tea, be mindful of those that go before you, if you are not first in rank, and follow their lead. If you are second, take the tea, sip, and pass it to the next guest. If you are somehow first in rank, which I would not expect, you will bow to the host when proffered the tea, then to the next of us in who is next in the order of rank. Do not drink from the front of the bowl. Sip and tell the host how good the tea is, then pass it to the next guest. After this, watch the lead. It will be less formal. You may talk then, although, you'd be wise to still be courteous. Of course, this may all be for naught, seeing as the ceremony may be different for different events or levels of formality, etcetera. To be safe, follow me..."

Piggie will take Riken to find tabi and kaishi for them (assuming he even wears tabi in this scenario due to his low rank as rikishi), and kaishi for the rest of the group, if he thinks he might need it.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Fighter / 5

Rilendo sees Riken leaving with Piggie. Catching up with them he gives Riken a hardy slap on the back. "Amigo!". Then he puts him in a bear hug. "It is good to see you!" He sets him down. "How long has it been since our last adventure? I hear you have gained mucho fama for the pionero!"

He walks along with Riken until he comes across merchants that have what he's looking for (Formal attire, Masterwork Breastplate and shield).

You guys can also do some knowledge (nobility) or diplomacy (information gathering) to determine protocol for this variety of tea ceremony.

Additionally, knowledge (local) or diplomacy (information gathering) if you want to be getting info on recent visitors.

For any of the above checks, note if you speak Tien, or the rarer Dtang or Ngagji.

Finally, Amara said you should be expecting camping, so make sure to have gear.

Lantern Lodge

Male Orc/Human Monk/5

I have Knowledge Religion +4 (tea ceremonies traditionally religiousy???) and +8 Profession Rikishi, which is quite steeped in tradition and ceremony. I speak Tien.

Piggie purchases tabi (wanted some anyways) and kaishi. He also purchases a Wand of Disguise (5 charges 75gp from Chronicle Sheet), Bracers of Armor (+1 1000gp from Chronicle Sheet), 10 rations, 2 water skins, and a tarp, or the fashion, for use as shelter, etc.

He'll then visit a shrine on his way back where he'll make a donation and perhaps talk to the priest there about local tea customs to see if they match what he knows from his profession and religions ceremonies.

Typically to a tea ceremony of the variety described, one wears a formal court dress or formal armor. It is doubtful that at such a ceremony, the guest of honor will be particular about which is chosen by any party other than the host of highest rank.

Based on the description of the event, it is likely that your group will be in a security role and not required to participate, but welcome and encouraged to do so.

The finer details follow closely in line with Gorgowzowa's offered description, with the addendum that after the initial tea drinking, there should be opportunity for polite conversation, personal inquiry and finally business of the ceremony, in that order.

Lantern Lodge

Male Orc/Human Monk/5

Piggie awaits the tea ceremony, observing the surroundings, anxious to make his host proud, yet fighting that feeling as well.“Your desires will forever keep you from what you desire." What a fool he was. A flash of rage washes over him like a warm swaddling blanket. He quickly closes his eyes, and starts a metered breathing. The past is dead. The dead have no sway over him.

Anyone want to do anything else before "tomorrow", when the ceremony is to take place? I will move it along around 5:00 PM CST

Dark Archive

Male Human Sorcerer 2, Cleric 1

Mid-morning the next day you all meet at the same residence where you had gathered for tea previously. As you arrive, servants usher you into the foyer at the side of the house where the number of visitors grows at a steady pace. The the ceremony garden is visible through the circular windows.

Liberty's Edge

Male Tiefling Fighter/Ninja

One of the servants greets you individually as you arrive. "Please, follow me. the Venture-Captain will be joining us as soon as the entirety of our party have arrived." Shadowstorm guides you through the entryway, around the corner into the foyer.

Dark Archive

Male Human Sorcerer 2, Cleric 1

Soon, a handful of other Pathfinders in addition to your group are in the foyer waiting, engaging in small talk. Among your peers is a follower of Sarenrae, holy symbol on display dangling from his neck, dressed in a casual garb from Absolom yet with his hair bundled into a top-knot in local fashion, a distinct blend of East and West. Another, a woman in what appears to be her early forties whose hair is an unsettling frost-blue, seeming almost to be flowing. Her robes are thick and heavy and she wears a ring that she fondles nervously, and two small, thick pocket books dangle each from one of the various belts clinging to her robes.

Shortly, Venture-Captain Amara Li enters the foyer, whispers a few instructions to the servants and quietly leaves again. A few moments later, one of the servants (both of whom were present during your briefing the day prior) moves to close curtains and secure windows and the other, the ninja who seems out of place in the role, ushers the group inward to follow Amara into the body of the structure.

Liberty's Edge

Male Tiefling Fighter/Ninja

Tomisaburo again ushers, this time the entire group. "Please follow me. We have much to prepare and must make use of our time."

Dark Archive

Male Human Sorcerer 2, Cleric 1

As the group arrives, Amara nods to the blue-haired woman, and begins. "Pathfinders," Amara speaks crisply "prepare yourselves. We will presently be teleported to our meeting place while the rest of our guests maintain the façade of meeting here." The missing servant (also looking quite out of place) at this point enters the room, and joins Amara and your group whilst the rest fan out to the extremities of the room. They begin talking amongst themselves and plan tactics and diversions in the event of their facsimile meeting being disrupted.

"Is everyone present?" Amara looks around, confirming that the group and the two servants are with her. "Good. Eillyassa, please begin."

Dark Archive

Male Human Sorcerer 2, Cleric 1

The group is teleported, and the visible spectrum turns to a sickly green, and slowly dissipates into what appears to be a blackened beach, with a lighthouse perhaps a mile or two in the distance. Light rain and mist interfere with making the structure out in much detail, and vision is obscured. The weather shows no signs of breaking.

Due to the weather, your distance vision penalty is doubled. You have difficulty seeing with detail past 50 feet.

A black stone pier juts out from the beach, though years of pounding surf and use make it impossible to discern whether it was magic or skilled hands that constructed the pier. Igneous black sand peppered with chunks of dark gray rock makes up the beach. Further up the hill, the landscape is filled with strange shapes eroded from the charcoal-colored stone. Wild basalt beasts, bizarre pumice chimneys, igneous archways, and twisted stone snakes line the winding mile-long path that crawls up the steep hillside. The black tiles of the lighthouse's rooftop is just barely visible between two of the more serpentine stone menhirs. A light mist dampens the docks and darkens the stone to a glossy black.

Amara speaks up. "Pathfinders, we are on a small volcanic island at the northern end of the Minatan Archipelago. Our meeting will occur in the hall of the building attached to the lighthouse." Amara covers her face with one hand and points out the distant destination with the other. "While we have staged the meeting in Ramparassad, I have little doubt that enemies or spies may have seen through the ruse. You will secure the area in preparation for our guest, who will arrive via the pier, and provide security during the ceremony. You are, of course, welcome to participate, but first and foremost here to be ready to act in case of... disruption."

Gorgow gives a thankful nod to Riken, then to Paka, and heads for cover. He will continue along about 40 feet or so ahead of the rest of the group where he can make out their position and still have a chance to hopefully see anything before everyone would. Assuming the limited visibility will create some concealment between the two parties and hopefully allow us to spot an ambush before walking into it, but still be able to keep an eye on the group and in the worst case be about a round of distance to move back if need be. Gorgow has extra keen dark vision (90ft vs. 60ft), but not sure if it is dark out, or just misty, etc.

Lantern Lodge

Male Orc/Human Monk/5

Gorgowzowa couches next to an outcrop of rock. He scans the vista for movement, listens to nature, smells the air... nothing... Frustration sets in. Too much fog, too many noises, and the air smells of wet sand... He closes his eyes... breaths deeply and exhales. With his eyes closed he listens to the sounds of nature. The cacophony slowly becomes rhythms and beats, and random tones slowly turn to recognizably discernable voices, pitches into key... all coalescing into the one then fading to nothing. He ones his eyes. Paka is looking at him, not like an animal looking for a cure, but almost like a teacher to a student; calm, patient, and waiting. Gorgowzowa passes his vision around again. Not trying to look, just seeing.

"The sailor that finds the fastest route is the one that knows to not force his course to his desires, but releases the desire, and embraces the flow of the currents." Gorgowzowa laughs off the rest of the quote as he was told, "But, you, little pig, are a fool who will never even raise your anchor.

Gorgowzowa checks his bracers, looks at Paka, and moves further into the mists.

Lantern Lodge

Male Orc/Human Monk/5

"It's as if it was just myself and you, Paka, on this dreary place." Gorgowzowa begins to wonder if this is all for naught. Was there even a meeting to take place? Is he being tested? Was he wrong to place his faith in this Pathfinder Society? Doubt... plans... time... he must not think of these things. He must just do. But how? How do you do without acting? How would one act if in an ether of nothing? As if nothing you did had any effect is how. You would just be. Just flow. Does an Autumn leaf plan his future? Does he dwell upon the end of his life? Does he rage against his release from the tree that he has nursed all his existence? No. He falls the way the wind stirs. For that instance of time, he is one with the wind. "I must be nothing. What better place to contemplate this thought than the stasis which permeates this geste."

The weather is well lighted, since it is still morning, just rainy. Think crappy Washington, Oregon weather on the Pacific coast.

Gorgowzowa scouts ahead through the rain, looking for traps. Paka takes the lead, relying on scent as much as vision, as a creature more in tune with wilderness.

The party proceeds a mile and a half up the hill. As the terrain is scouted by Gorgowzowa and Paka, Riken, Dae Lhach and Rilendo prepare themselves for attack or ambush. After a half hour or so, as well as four or six false stops, (*see below*) the party reaches the lighthouse without any incidents of sabotage or ambush.

A lighthouse towers above a two-story house. Both structures are made primarily of the local soot-colored basalt. The lighthouse appears to be intact, but the manor has fared less well—its windows lack screens and its roof sags, suggest it has suffered badly from decades of neglect. These structures perch at the edge of a cliff, with the north-facing side of the house supported by tall stilts anchored deep into the cliff.

As you approach the lighthouse, Amara Li exhales a sigh of relief, spiced with a hint of worry at the disrepair of the venue. "Pathfinders, this will be our meeting place. You are to secure this area and verify no one unexpectedly awaits us, nor anything threatens the meeting. While we have just over two hours before our meeting with the Way of the Kirin —whose man is Iko Tsuneo, by the way. His family are..." Amara looks around, uncomfortably, "... 'caretakers' of this island— you are to make the best of your time." Amara nods to the two Pathfinder agents filling the role of servants. "You two, open the doors and prepare the main chamber for a reception. The rest of you, make certain the building's security."

For those who have travelled with him before, Dae-Lhach has been uncharacteristically quiet. During the introductory tea with Amara Li, he was courteous as his position requires, but he remained subdued and lost in thought. Afterwards, he strayed from the group and wandered the streets aimlessly.

The next day, Dae-Lhach was the last of the group to arrive, though he seems more relaxed than the day before. He quickly takes his place with the others as they are ushered through the building. On seeing a fellow devotee of Sarenrea, he motions a quick gesture of greeting, but remains otherwise quiet throughout the teleportation.

Upon arriving at their destination, Dae-Lhach takes a moment to settle his stomach. Teleportation has never fully agreed with him. Once he has his bearings, he scans around the mist getting a feel for the area. As Gorgozowa heads off with the panther, Dae-Lhach steps nearer to Amari Li.

"My apologies Venture-Caption. I have been otherwise preoccupied and felt I owe you an explanation. Weeks before receiving this assignment I was tasked with the construction of a new healing pool at my home temple. The plans indicated it would be completed before my departure, however, serveral occurances prevented that from happening. I received word just this morning that the final stones had been laid and the pool is, most miraculously, nearly filled. I take this as a sign of Sarenrae's pleasure at the improvements. I wanted to speak of this to you first, and assure you that my whole attention will be devoted to the success of this meeting."

The kitchen has several large, empty chests that once served as pantry space, an oven with openings in the top for pots of various sizes, a sink, and a single wooden stool. There is a door to the Great Hall (A3) and a window to the west.

A3, The Great Hall:
This large room has two massive bay windows with window seats topped with ruined silk cushions face north and offer a spectacular view of the ocean and a cluster of smaller islands. An immense fireplace sits against the southern wall. There are Exits to the Entry (A1), the Kitchen (A2) and the Round Table Room (A8).

A4, Lighthouse Storage:
This circular room has a simple wooden door and contains a jumble of old supplies. There is an exit outside and stairs leading up to the second level.

A5, Spare Room:
This room is devoid of furniture, making its original purpose difficult to discern. There is plenty of space and it is directly about the Entry (A1).

A6, Master Bedroom:
A large, rotting bed dominates the master bedroom along side a relatively well-preserved desk and chair. The ceiling sags from water damage and the floor in the center of the room slants alarmingly.

A7, Lightroom:
The lighthouse rises 30 feet and is built of the same dark basalt as the nearby house. A slightly arched covered bridge connects the second floors of the two structures. Inside, the lighthouse contains only a small storage area (area A4) and a wooden spiral staircase that winds its way up to the tower's top.

A8-A16, Unnumbered rooms:
These rooms are here. On the first floor is a room with a large, round table (A8). On the second floor, starting counter-clockwise from the master bedroom, there is a bath and wash room (A9), a servants' room (A10), a sun room (double windows) (A11), a filler/closer room (A12), a study (A13), the second floor of the lighthouse (A14), a hallway (A15), and a second, smaller washroom (A16).

After clearing the residence as a suitable meeting place, you return to the great hall. There, Amara is barking orders to the two servant Pathfinders, already dressed in formal ceremonial attire, cleaning and moving in and out of the kitchen, preparing the tea for the ceremony.

Amara Li addresses the assembled Pathfinders: "Pathfinders, we are fortunate. Our meeting preparations have not met with delay. Perhaps our fortune can last out the day—" Amara stops abruptly, mid-sentence. Her focus is lost, as if it is not on either this time or place.

If anyone wants to make a Spellcraft check to see what's happening, they are free to do so.

After a half a minute of this distraction, Amara addresses you: "We have a potential problem; our staged meeting in Ramparassad may have been for naught. Our decoy event was interrupted by a party of three agents of the Golden League. While our operatives and property in Ramparassad are in order, this is a force smaller by far than I might've anticipated. There are two hours until my Way of the Kirin contact, Iko Tsuneo arrives at the pier. Make the best of them." The Venture-Captain is once again briefly caught off guard and stares into space, this time to only whisper once her trance is broken

Honor system here, don't read if you can't make the DC. Posting it for speed and ease of play.

Perception DC 20:
The Venture-Captain's whisper is a troubling suggestion. "I would have expected a group no smaller than fifteen. If they saw through our façade, sending so few as three, they may have prepared a small army to intervene against our alliance..."

Amara shakes her head and speaks a bit more audibly. "No matter." She clears her throat and speaks, this time with resolve and conviction. "We shall proceed with the ceremony, as my contact with the Way of the Kirin is on his way via vessel. To depart now would forever sabotage relations between the Pathfinder Society and the Way of the Kirin. I will not have the past decade of my work within our Society lost—no, squandered on any such display of dishonor."

Game mechanics terms:

You have two hours to prepare security for the tea ceremony (and probably just enough time to change into formal wear between Iko Tsuneo's arrival on the island and the beginning of the tea ceremony. You have not thoroughly searched the manor you currently occupy. Quickly performing a search of any such room will take 5 minutes. This will require a Perception roll. You can take 10 on this roll, but taking 20 will take a full hour (per the scenario; [side bar]doesn't core rules say taking 20 takes 20 minutes?[/side bar]). If you wish to take security precautions other than searching the manor, let me know what actions you are taking and I will give you a list of skill DCs and the time it would take to complete the action. The island is your oyster, but time is slipping away.

Finally, and I'll meta this a bit, Areas A8-A16 were not originally marked on the scenario's map, so take from that what you will.

A few questions about the cursory run through.
"Did anyone notice the state of the windows? Were any covered, missing, or the ilk? Are the supports over the cliff a problem, do we think? That is, should we locate ourselves inside to mitigate the risk of a collapse? Do we wish to block doors that we cannot protect, or at least find a way to minimize routes into the meeting place? Do we want to plan escape routes? Does anyone want to check the perimeter to see if anyone has been around here recently? Should we search the lighthouse storage and perhaps bar the door there? What about the door on the second level from the manor side? I fear the tower is the easiest path for an intruder as well as perhaps our best fallback position. The master bedroom seems alarming, since it is right above us. It seems to be at risk of falling into the sea. Should be move the bed towards the fireplace to reduce that risk? Should someone check the desk there too? Can we use the tower as a look out position before the event? I would run to the tower now to check, but I do not want to trample anything a tracker might be able to discern about recent visitors."

Gorgowzowa discusses the questions with those around, and will relay his intentions, and if no strong objections, he will leave up the stairs to the tower.
If Riken and Paka would do a quick check for recent visitors around here, Gorgowzowa will go to the north east stairs to the bridge, check the door there to see if it could be barred from inside the manor, cross and check the top of the tower to see what is visible and the lay of the land, as well as anything up there like the walls, etc., for anything avantagous or not. After that, he'd make his way down to the base and check that storage room and see if the door can be barred from the inside and if it has been used recently, like if there is wear in the rust of the hinges or if they appear rust bound, etc.
