The people of Isger need YOU to push back their Chelaxian oppressors! Prepare for everything the new Pathfinder Adventure Path: Hellbreakers has in store with the Player's Guide, available yesterday in our blog!

Just finished reading through it. I'm liking what I see so far, although the table of suggested character options seems only loosely tied to the recommendations in the text -- maybe made by different people?
Surprised nobody else has posted in this thread after Friday, even though the blog post for the Player's Guide actually has a link to here (that's how I got here), unlike most blog posts from after the web site upgrade, which DON'T have such a link (hint: would be good to fix this).

Our old blogs don't have links to forum posts, as they used to just have conversations on the blogs themselves, and we can't go back through all of these and retroactively add forum posts, but all blogs made after the November site change do have links to the forum conversation threads that I post at the bottom!

Perhaps the reason there's been less discussion is because there's no link directly from the Hellbreaker AP? I find it a bit odd that the player's guide isn't available on that page. Maybe I'm missing it, or maybe that's a choice. An odd choice in my mind.
Players' Guide is linked, below the video embed, on the hardcover store listing, but not the pdf or fvtt listing.

Fine, I'll get the ball rolling on discussion.
My character ideas, even though I don't have a group to play with!
(this AP ended up being a good venue for a lot of characters I had previously cooking, because Cheliax is evocative, dammit!)
A Human Talos whose pursuit of makeup to cover up his Heritage -- which emerged with the planar convergence -- led him to a career doing special effects for a Pezzack theater company. When a malfunctioning pyrotechnic killed a priest of Abadar, a Godclaw Hellknight mentee of the priest swore vengeance on him. Chased across the countryside and desperate, he eventaully managed to sneak up on the Knight and murder him in his sleep in an inn. Sleep deprived and in a fugue of guilt, he stuffed the Knight's armor full of clockwork, wiped off his makeup and walked out a "Aphorite Blessed One of Irori" attended by a "Hellknight guardian" sworn to an "oath of silence" that definitely isn't an Inventor's construct companion. He was trying to sneak over the border into Andoran where he could ditch the armor and drop the ruse when the war broke out and he ended up circling Isger trying to keep cover. Now the Demitriai have figured him out and promised to smuggle him out of the country -- if he's willing to let his construct lend an air of authority to some missions.
A human Isgeri noblewoman who's lived a sheltered life due in large part to her Aphorite heritage, she always thought herself an upstanding citizen… Until she neglected to report to Chelaxian authorities about the spark she recieved from the Godsrain. Content to hide it for almost a year, when at last faced with violence she discovered that the Corset Knife she'd never had proper cause to use appeared magically in both her hands. Seeking some glorious narrative to make her name as an Exemplar, she's settled on Revolution, harkenning to some Kellid heritage, where her life of privilege is as much an asset as a detriment.
An Awakened Dog Nephilim Scoundrel Rogue -- the misbegotten product of a Chelaxian grand dam's attempt to crossbreed a favored variety of lapdog with Hellhounds (for that patriotic Chelaxian dog lover). Uniquely among his brood he was blessed with speech and reason, a fact he successfully hid from his master for several years, funneling secrets acquired from the discomfort of her lap to a Bellflower agent among her staff. Now finding a new frontier of rebellion, he enjoys playing the part of an unsuspecting lost pet, right up until someone gets close enough to scratch him.
Lastly, with a little bit of homebrew, a Hellspawn fire/metal Kineticist whose powers derive not from the Elemental planes but from The City of Dis in Hell itself. When a landowning Diabolist, years ago, observed one of his halfling slaves awakening with kinetic power, he promptly had her captured and disected. Discerning the power of this bodily gate to another plane, he sought out a Hellspawn who could claim descent from none other than Dispater himself. At last acquiring this poor Isgeri wretch, he experimented on him to awaken that ancestry into a gate, hoping ultimately to open permanent, flesh-bound protals to Hell, and converting the cities of Cheliax into mere suburbs of Dis! The Diabolist of course underestimated the initial burst of kinetic power under his victim's control, and our hero escaped, and now seeks to use this hellish power against its masters!

Our SFS1e group is planning on playing this next after we finish Season 7.
My wife and I have already researched Isger, Andoran and Eagle Knight concepts.
We were patiently waiting for the PG and now we are reading Operation Hellmouth.
We will be ready for our dive into Disbatches next month before our planned Session Zero May 8!
So, yuppers! We are excited for this AP!

One of the ideas I have for a character would be a human monk who is an ex-sister of the Golden Eriynes who has complicated feelinggs to her former sisters. For on one hand they saved her. She lost her family during the goblinblood wars, and the sisterhood took her in. She has friends there. They were the only family she knew.
However she has turned away from them, she believes in a different path, not bound to hell which doesn't serve the people of Iger. She would want to replace the Sisterhood with a new order, similarly disciplined and structured female organization of Nuns, one which would have orphan's interest at heart but more good aligned. I just am not sure as to which deity or deities for her.
But I like the idea of a Golden Eriynes Nun fighting against her former order to free Isger from tyranny that she once was taught to embrace.

Holy moly these make mine look super basic. Well done! Mine is a human warpriest, a Chelaxian who was raised to be a cloistered cleric of Asmodeus (kind of like those big city families where the boys all become cops, firefighters, or priests). As he reached young adulthood and started seeing more of the world, he had a crisis of faith and identity and the more he questioned his church, the more he questioned Chelaxian society as a whole. Ended up in Isger and overheard talk of the Everbloom. Everything started making a lot more sense and he joined the church. Knowing the hands clasped in prayer must sometimes give way to the fist clenched in righteous fury, he chose the path of the warpriest and the holy morningstar of Miloni and took the surname Rosethorn.
We start playing in a week and I can hardly wait.
